3.1.1 Wireless Modem
The E5785-320a can function as a wireless modem when Wi-Fi is enabled. Users can utilize the default settings or configure the APN via the E5785-320a's web-based management page to establish a wireless network connection for Internet access.
Diagram 3-1: Illustrates multi-device access via Wi-Fi and a micro USB port simultaneously. Multiple devices like laptops and smartphones are shown connected wirelessly to the Mobile WiFi, which is also connected to a PC via a micro USB cable.
3.1.2 USB Modem
After connecting the E5785-320a to a PC using a USB data cable, users can access the E5785-320a's web-based management page by entering its IP address in a browser. Default APN settings can be used, or APN can be configured on the page to establish a network connection for Internet access.
Diagram 3-2: Depicts one-device access via a micro USB port, showing a computer connected directly to the Mobile WiFi unit.
3.1.3 LTE/3G/Wi-Fi Auto Offload
The E5785-320a facilitates Internet access via LTE, 3G, or Wi-Fi. When the device is used in areas with a Wi-Fi hotspot (e.g., airports, cafes, hotels, or homes), it automatically switches to the Wi-Fi network to conserve LTE/3G data usage.
Diagram 3-3: Illustrates the LTE/3G/Wi-Fi auto offload functionality. An internet source connects to both a cellular tower (LTE/3G) and a Wi-Fi hotspot. The Mobile WiFi unit connects to the Wi-Fi hotspot, providing internet to connected devices, thereby saving mobile data.
3.2 SMS
The E5785-320a supports writing, sending, and receiving messages. Users can manage messages through the Inbox, Outbox, and Drafts sections on the device's web-based management page.
3.3 Menu Display
The E5785-320a offers menu display in multiple languages. Users can navigate the menu by pressing the MENU button to enter and select menu items, and the Power button to confirm selections. Menu options include:
- LTE/3G/Wi-Fi auto offload
- WPS
Diagram 3-4: Shows a typical menu screen interface, which may vary slightly on the actual device. Options like 'Back', 'Data roaming', 'WPS', and 'WLAN Band' are visible, with navigation controls 'Next' and 'OK'.
