Contents of the Package

  • Main unit (KATANA-MINI X)
  • Leaflet “Read Me First” (this document)
  • USB cable for charging

How to charge this unit

Use a commercially available USB AC adaptor (at least 5 V/1.5 A).

  1. Slide the [POWER] switch on this unit to the side to turn off the power. Although you can recharge the unit while it is powered on, the unit charges faster when it's off.
  2. Connect the commercially available USB AC adaptor (at least 5 V/1.5 A) to the USB port of this unit with the included USB cable.

The POWER indicator blinks orange while the unit is charging (the indicator stays lit orange if the unit is powered on).

The POWER indicator goes dark once charging is finished (the indicator lights up red if the unit is powered on).

NOTE

  • Even if you do not intend to use this unit for a long time, recharge the internal Ni-MH battery once every three months to avoid degradation.
  • Temperature range: during use: 0–40°C, when charge: 5–30°C (*1), when storage: 10–35°C.
  • (*1) In order to take full advantage of the battery’s performance, we recommend that you charge it in a temperature range of 5°C–30°C.
  • If the time that the unit can run on battery power only (without power supplied from the USB AC adaptor) is getting short, the battery life might improve if you do a “refresh recharge”. For details, refer to the Owner’s Manual (BOSS website).

Placement

  • Using the unit near power amplifiers (or other equipment containing large power transformers) may induce hum. To alleviate the problem, change the orientation of this unit; or move it farther away from the source of interference.
  • This unit may interfere with radio and television reception. Do not use this unit in the vicinity of such receivers.
  • Noise may be produced if wireless communications devices, such as cell phones, are operated in the vicinity of this unit. Should you experience such problems, you should relocate such wireless devices so they are at a greater distance from this unit, or switch them off.

Therefore, before using the unit, you must allow it to stand for several hours, until the condensation has completely evaporated.
  • Depending on the material and temperature of the surface on which you place the unit, its rubber feet may discolor or mar the surface.
