Front Panel

The front panel of the Katana-MINI X features several controls for adjusting the sound:

Control Function
1 INPUT jack Connect your guitar here. Ensure volume is down and units are off before connecting.
2 [GAIN] knob Adjusts the amp's distortion.
3 [TYPE] switch Selects the amp type: BROWN (lead sound), CRUNCH (fat crunch sound), CLEAN (clean and natural sound).
4 [VARIATION] button When ON, activates a variation sound. When TYPE is set to CLEAN, it provides a sound suitable for acoustic-electric guitars or bass guitars.
5 [VOLUME] knob Adjusts the overall volume.
6 EQUALIZER A three-band equalizer for shaping the tone: [BASS] knob (low-frequency), [MIDDLE] knob (mid-frequency), [TREBLE] knob (high-frequency).
7 EFFECTS A variety of effects are available. Use the [MOD/FX] knob to adjust the effect amount. Effects include Chorus, Phaser, Tremolo, Touch wah, Defretter, Synth, and Octave. Note: Effects may not sound as expected with chords; play single notes for best results.
[REV/DLY] knob Applies reverb and delay effects for spaciousness. Options include REV (Reverb), SPRING (Spring reverb), DLY (Delay), and DLY+REV (Delay + Reverb).
8 [TUNER / ⏧] button Activates the tuner. Long-press for three seconds to initiate Bluetooth pairing.
TUNER (▼) indicators Show tuning status when the tuner is active.
9 (PHONES) / REC jack Headphone jack or output for recording. Stereo output. No sound from the speaker when a plug is inserted.
10 POWER indicator Indicates power supply or charging status.
11 [POWER] switch Turns the unit ON or OFF. Turn volume down before powering on/off.
12 5 V port (USB Type-C®) Connect to a USB AC adaptor (5 V/2 A or higher) for power or charging. Some adaptors may not be compatible.

Using the Tuner

The tuner determines pitches for standard tuning on six-string guitars and four-string bass guitars.

  1. Press the [TUNER / ⏧] button. The TUNER (▼) indicator blinks.
  2. Play a single note on the open string you want to tune. The indicator shows if the pitch is flat (b), correct (▼), or sharp (#). Reference pitch is A4 = 440 Hz. Adjust volume with the [VOLUME] knob if tuner sensitivity is low. For acoustic guitars, set [VARIATION] to OFF.
  3. When tuning is complete, press the [TUNER / ⏧] button again. The TUNER (▼) indicator blinks.

Listening to Audio via Bluetooth®

Connect your mobile device to the unit wirelessly to play audio through the Katana-MINI X.

Connecting a mobile device:

  1. Long-press the [TUNER / ⏧] button for at least three seconds. The TUNER (▼) indicator blinks.
  2. Turn on the Bluetooth switch on your mobile device.
  3. Tap "KATANA-MINI X" on your mobile device's Bluetooth screen to pair. The TUNER (▼) indicator blinks rapidly, then goes dark.

Note: Adjust mobile device playback volume on the device itself. The unit automatically connects to the last paired device when powered on.

Unpairing the mobile device:

  1. Long-press the [TUNER / ⏧] button for at least three seconds. The TUNER (▼) indicator blinks.
  2. Press the [TUNER / ⏧] button again.

Note: Devices can also be unpaired from the mobile device's Bluetooth screen.

Troubleshooting

Problem Solution
Unit doesn't charge when connected to USB AC adaptor. Ensure the USB AC adaptor provides at least 5 V/2 A.
Unit doesn't run long on battery power. The battery may be discharged. Perform a "refresh recharge": Turn unit OFF, charge with a 5 V/2 A adaptor, disconnect adaptor, turn unit ON and let it run until fully discharged. Repeat several times. Battery performance may improve but not fully restore.
"KATANA-MINI X" not shown on mobile device display, but appears on others. Cycle the power of the mobile device you wish to use.
