General Safety Warnings

  • Do not disassemble or modify: Do not perform any operations unless instructed in the manual. Failure to comply may cause malfunction or damage.
  • Do not repair or replace parts yourself: Refer all servicing to an authorized Roland service center or retailer.
  • Avoid extreme environments: Do not use or store in locations subject to extreme temperatures, dampness, steam, smoke, salt exposure, rain, dust, sand, high vibration, or poor ventilation.
  • Avoid extended use at high volume: Prolonged use at high volume can cause hearing loss. Consult a physician if you experience hearing loss or ringing in the ears.
  • Prevent foreign objects/liquids: Do not allow foreign objects or liquids to enter the unit. Do not place containers with liquids on the unit. This can cause short circuits or malfunctions.
  • Turn off if abnormality occurs: Immediately turn off the unit and seek service if smoke, unusual odor, foreign objects, spilled liquid, exposure to rain, or abnormal operation occurs.
  • Protect children: Ensure adult supervision when children are present or using the unit.
  • Do not drop or impact: Avoid dropping or subjecting the unit to strong impacts to prevent damage or malfunction.

General Cautions

  • Cable management: Route power cords and cables to prevent entanglement, which can cause tripping hazards.
  • Avoid climbing/heavy objects: Do not climb on or place heavy objects on the unit to prevent toppling or injury.
  • Disconnect before moving: Always disconnect all cables before moving the unit to prevent damage or malfunction.
  • Handle leaking batteries carefully: Avoid contact with leaking battery fluid. If fluid gets into eyes, flush with water and seek medical attention. If fluid contacts skin or clothing, wash thoroughly with water and seek medical attention.

Important Notes

Placement

  • Hum interference: Using the unit near power amplifiers or large transformers may induce hum. Adjust orientation or distance to alleviate.
  • Radio/TV interference: The unit may interfere with radio and television reception. Do not use near such receivers.
  • Wireless device interference: Wireless communication devices (e.g., cell phones) used nearby may cause noise. Relocate or switch off such devices if problems occur.
  • Condensation: If moved between locations with significantly different temperature/humidity, allow the unit to acclimate for several hours until condensation evaporates to prevent damage.
  • Liquid spills: Do not place liquid containers on the unit. Promptly wipe away any spilled liquid with a soft, dry cloth.

Maintenance

  • Never use benzine, thinners, alcohol, or solvents, as they can cause discoloration or deformation.

About the Transmitter

  • Pacemaker proximity: Do not use within 22 cm (8-11/16 inches) of a cardiac pacemaker to avoid affecting its operation.
  • Battery disposal: The transmitter contains a lithium-ion battery. Dispose of it according to local regulations, not as household waste.
  • Battery charging: Charge the lithium-ion battery every three months to prevent degradation, even if not in use.
  • Charging temperature: Recommended charging temperature range is 10–30 °C (5–35 °C ambient). Charging outside this range may result in errors.

Additional Precautions

  • Operating temperature: Do not use in extremely low or high temperatures. Operating range: 5–40 °C.
  • Disconnecting cables: Grasp the connector, not the cable, when disconnecting to avoid shorts or damage.
  • Volume levels: Keep volume at reasonable levels to avoid disturbing others.

  • Unauthorized disassembly, modification, or removal of certification labels may be subject to legal penalties.
  • The unit operates within specific frequency bands and may cause or be subject to interference from other radio services. Ensure no such interference occurs before use. Consult Roland customer support if interference is detected.
