GULLABERG Chest of 8 Drawers

WARNING! Children have died from furniture tipover. To reduce the risk of furniture tipover:

  • ALWAYS install anti-tip device provided.
  • NEVER put a TV on this product.
  • NEVER allow children to stand, climb, or hang on any drawers, doors, or shelves.
  • NEVER open more than one drawer at a time.
  • DO NOT defeat or remove the drawer interlock system; it is an important stability and safety system.
  • Place heaviest items in the lowest drawers.
  • Read and follow each step of the instruction carefully.

?️ Parts and Tools

The following tools and hardware are required for assembly. Please check that you have all parts before starting.

Tools Required:

  • Screwdrivers (Phillips and Flathead)
  • Hammer
  • Drill with drill bits (Ø 8 mm / 5/16" and Ø 3 mm / 1/8")
  • Spirit Level

Hardware and Components:

Refer to the diagrams for specific part identification and quantities. Key part numbers are listed below for reference.

  • Screws: 109572 (2x), 10087223 (2x), 10102070 (2x), 100223 (2x), 100229 (2x), 109049 (2x), 146114 (48x), 100347 (24x), 10122691 (8x), 10119567 (8x), 10122710 (8x), 10122693 (8x), 151705 (8x), 151707 (8x), 151706 (8x), 151708 (8x), 144574 (8x), 144575 (8x), 102553 (4x), 194970 (5x), 101345 (4x), 145718 (32x), 106603 (12x), 131361 (32x)

Main Components:

The main structure consists of side panels, top/bottom panels, back panels, internal dividers, and drawer runners (labeled IKEA CR and IKEA CL).

Assembly Steps

Step 1

Attach the drawer runners (part 10108520) to the side panels using screws (part 146114). Ensure correct orientation as shown. There are 9 screws per side panel.

Note: The diagram shows two types of runners, IKEA CR and IKEA CL. Ensure you attach the correct type to the corresponding panel.

Step 2

Attach drawer runners (part 10108520) to the internal divider panels using screws (part 146114). There are 6 screws per panel.

Step 3

Attach drawer runners (part 10108520) to the other set of internal divider panels using screws (part 146114). There are 9 screws per panel.

Step 4

Connect the drawer runner mechanisms. The diagram shows a specific clip mechanism being engaged. This step involves attaching a component to the drawer runners, likely for drawer insertion later.

Step 5

Attach drawer runner mechanisms to the main frame components using screws (part 100347). There are 2 screws per mechanism.

Step 6

Attach a long panel (likely the top or bottom) to the side panels using screws (part 102553) and dowels (part 144574/144575). The diagram shows 4 screws and 4 dowels.

Step 7

Insert dowels (part 101345) into the designated holes on a long panel. There are 4 dowels.

Step 8

Attach the panel from Step 7 to the main structure. The diagram shows it being slotted into place and secured, possibly with screws or by the dowels.

Step 9

Attach another long panel to the structure using screws (part 144574/144575). The diagram shows 4 screws.

Step 10

Attach a long panel to the main structure using screws (part 100223). The diagram shows 1 screw and the use of tool 100006 (Allen key).

Step 11

Connect a long panel to the main frame. The diagram shows a sliding or clipping mechanism being engaged, secured by two components.

Step 12

Connect another long panel to the main frame, similar to Step 11, indicating the structure is taking shape.

Attach clips (parts 10093081 and 10093082) to the main structure. There are 4 clips in total.

Step 26

Secure the main structure using screws (part 109049). There are 2 screws.

Step 27

Insert drawer runners into the main structure. The diagram shows them being slid into place.

Step 28

Attach components using screws (part 100217) and tool 100001 (Allen key). There are 4 such attachments.

Step 29

Attach clips (parts 10093081 and 10093082) to the main structure. There are 4 clips in total.

Step 30

Secure the main structure using screws (part 100347). There are 5 screws.

Step 31

Attach components to the main structure using screws. The diagram shows a clipping action being secured.

Step 32

Slide a panel into the main structure. The diagram shows it being pushed into place.

Step 33

? Anti-Tip Device Installation

This section details how to secure the furniture to the wall using the provided anti-tip device to prevent tipover accidents.

Wall Mounting Options:

  • For solid walls (A) and hollow walls (B): Use the provided screws and plugs. Drill holes of Ø 8 mm (5/16"). For solid walls, the plug should be inserted 70 mm (2 3/4"). For hollow walls, the plug should be inserted approximately 30 mm (1 1/4").
  • For solid wood (C): Use the provided screws without plugs. Drill holes of Ø 3 mm (1/8"). The screw should be inserted approximately 30 mm (1 1/4").

Attaching the Bracket to the Furniture:

  1. Secure the bracket (part 10102070) to the back of the furniture using screws (part 109572). The diagram shows 2 screws per bracket.

Attaching the Bracket to the Wall:

  1. Mark the desired height on the wall.
  2. Drill the appropriate holes based on your wall type (as described above).
  3. Insert the wall plugs if required.
  4. Secure the corresponding bracket to the wall using the appropriate screws.
  5. Connect the furniture to the wall bracket. The diagrams show a clipping or locking mechanism.
