Important Safety Precautions
Warning: Special attention must be paid when using this test and measurement instrument, as improper usage can cause electric shock and damage the equipment.
- Use probes, test leads, and adapters with the proper measurement category (CAT), voltage, and amperage ratings for the measurement.
- Do not use or store the device in environments with explosive gas, vapor, or under high temperature and humidity.
- When handling test probes and crocodile clips, keep fingers behind the physical guard.
- Examine measuring test leads before use. Replace any test lead with deteriorated insulation (even partially) with proper functional test leads.
- Connect the common (COM) test lead before the live test lead, and remove the live test lead before the common test lead.
- Before measuring current, ensure the instrument has available fuses and disconnect the power supply to the circuit being tested.
- Remove batteries if the device is not used for an extended period or if stored in temperatures above 45°C to prevent battery leakage and damage.

Quick Start Guide Operations
1. Battery Replacement
Description: This section illustrates how to replace the multimeter's batteries.
- Unscrew the back cover of the multimeter.
- Remove the old batteries.
- Insert new batteries, observing correct polarity (+/-).
- Reattach the back cover securely.
2. AC Voltage (V~) Measurement
Description: Steps to measure AC voltage.
- Connect the black probe to the COM terminal and the red probe to the V/Ω/TEMP terminal.
- Turn the dial to the V~ (AC Voltage) range.
- Press the FUNC button to select AC voltage if multiple options are available for the dial setting.
- Connect the probes to the circuit under test.
- Read the AC voltage value displayed on the screen (e.g., 230 V).
3. DC Voltage (V--) Measurement
Description: Steps to measure DC voltage.
- Connect the black probe to the COM terminal and the red probe to the V/Ω/TEMP terminal.
- Turn the dial to the V-- (DC Voltage) range.
- Press the FUNC button to select DC voltage if multiple options are available for the dial setting.
- Connect the probes to the circuit under test.
- Read the DC voltage value displayed on the screen.
4. AC Current (A~) Measurement
Description: Steps to measure AC current.
- Connect the black probe to the COM terminal and the red probe to the mA/µA or 10A terminal, depending on the expected current range.
- Turn the dial to the A~ (AC Current) range.
- Press the FUNC button to select AC current if multiple options are available.
- Connect the probes in series with the circuit.
- Read the AC current value displayed on the screen (e.g., 2.47 A).
5. DC Current (A--) Measurement
Description: Steps to measure DC current.
- Connect the black probe to the COM terminal and the red probe to the mA/µA or 10A terminal, depending on the expected current range.
- Turn the dial to the A-- (DC Current) range.
- Press the FUNC button to select DC current if multiple options are available.
- Connect the probes in series with the circuit.
- Read the DC current value displayed on the screen.
6. Temperature (°C/°F) Measurement
Description: Steps to measure temperature.
- Connect the temperature probe to the TEMP and COM terminals.
- Turn the dial to the °C/°F range.
- Press the FUNC button to select °C or °F.
- Place the probe tip on the object to measure its temperature.
- Read the temperature value displayed on the screen (e.g., 27 °C).
7. Resistance (Ω) and Continuity Measurement
Description: Steps to measure resistance and check for continuity.
- Connect the black probe to the COM terminal and the red probe to the V/Ω/TEMP terminal.
- Turn the dial to the Ω (Resistance) or continuity range.
- Press the FUNC button to select resistance or continuity mode. A beep sound indicates continuity.
- Connect the probes across the component or circuit.
- Read the resistance value displayed on the screen (e.g., 0.6 Ω, 32 Ω). For continuity, a value below 50 Ω may trigger a beep.
8. Wireless Link Function
Description: Using the multimeter's wireless connectivity feature.
- Enable the Link function on the MS8238H multimeter.
- Use the MGL Link mobile application on a compatible smartphone or tablet.
- Connect wirelessly to the multimeter via the app.
- View and manage measurement data on the mobile device.
9. Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection
Description: Detecting AC voltage without physical contact.
- Turn the dial to the NCV (Non-Contact Voltage) mode.
- Bring the NCV sensor end of the multimeter near an AC voltage source (e.g., a wire or outlet).
- The multimeter will indicate the presence of voltage with an audible beep and/or a visual alert.
