Mechanical Structures and Installations
The WZ1 controller has a compact design with dimensions of 114.00 mm x 38.00 mm x 20.00 mm.
Key Components:
- Power Input: DC socket input, accepts 12-24VDC. Labeled as INPUT with '+' and '-' terminals.
- LED Indicator: A RUN LED indicator is present.
- Match/Set Key: A button labeled 'MATCH/SET' for configuration and pairing.
- LED Output: Two channels for LED strips, labeled 'LED OUTPUT' with terminals for '+', 'WW+', 'CW+', 'WW', '+', '-'.
- Installation Rack: Provided for mounting.
System Wiring Overview
The system can be controlled via Tuya Cloud, WiFi Router, and a Tuya ZigBee Gateway. Control devices include Mobile Phones, Amazon ECHO, RF Remotes (optional), and Panel RF Remotes (optional).
Connections:
- Wired connection: Indicated by solid lines.

Control Paths:
- Tuya APP Control: Via WiFi Router and Tuya ZigBee Gateway (requires gateway).
- Voice Control: Via Amazon ECHO (requires gateway).
- RF Remote Control: Direct wireless connection to the WZ1 controller (optional).
Note: The specified distances (e.g., 15m, 30m) are for unobstructed environments. A Tuya ZigBee gateway is required for remote and voice control.
Wiring Diagram
For Single Color LED Strips
Connections:
- Power Input: Connect a 12-24VDC Power Adapter to the INPUT terminals (+/-).
- LED Output: Connect the single color LED strip to the 'LED OUTPUT' terminals (+/-).
- Control Input: A Push Switch can be connected to the 'Push Dim' terminals.
- Remote Control: A Dimming RF Remote can be paired.
Configuration for DIM type: Press and hold the Match/Set key for 8 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns white. Then, perform Tuya APP smart configuration or short press the Match/Set key to pair with a dimming RF remote.
For Dual Color CCT LED Strips
Connections:
- Power Input: Connect a 12-24VDC Power Supply (AC100-240V input) to the INPUT terminals (+/-).
- LED Output: Connect the dual color LED strip to the 'LED OUTPUT' terminals (WW+, CW+, WW-, -).
- Control Input: A Push Switch can be connected to the 'Push Dim' terminals.
- Remote Control: A CCT RF Remote can be paired.
Configuration for CCT type: Press and hold the Match/Set key for 10 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns yellow. Then, perform Tuya APP smart configuration or short press the Match/Set key to pair with a CCT RF remote.
Important Notes:
- Users can connect either a constant voltage power supply or a power adapter as the power input.
- Pressing and holding the Match/Set key for 2 seconds switches between light types (DIM/CCT).
- To change the light on/off fade time (between 3s and 0.5s): Switch off the power, then switch on, repeat immediately. Short press the Match/Set key 3 times.
- For CCT lights, cycling power on and off repeatedly changes color temperature modes (Warm White, Neutral White, Cool White).
Push Dim Functionality
The WZ1 controller supports push dim functionality via an external push switch.

Tuya APP Network Connection
To switch light types: Press and hold the Match/Set key for 2 seconds. This operation does not clear previous network connections.
To clear network connection and enter config mode:
- Press and hold the Match/Set key for 5 seconds, OR
- Press the Match/Set key twice quickly, OR
- Press and hold the Match/Set key for 8 or 10 seconds (also sets light type).
When entering config mode, the purple LED indicator will flash rapidly, and the output LED will flash 10 times.
Alternatively, clear the network connection by repeating the power on/off cycle 5 consecutive times. The output LED will flash 10 times.
Upon successful Tuya APP network connection, the RUN LED indicator will stop flashing purple and turn to the corresponding light type color (White for DIM, Yellow for CCT). The device will appear as 'ZB-DIM' or 'ZB-CCT' in the Tuya APP.
Tuya APP Interface
The Tuya APP provides intuitive control:
- DIM Mode: Use the touch brightness slider to adjust the brightness of the LED strip.
- CCT Mode: Use the color wheel to adjust the color temperature and the brightness slider to adjust the brightness.
WZ1 Match Remote Control (Optional)
Users can choose from two methods for matching or deleting RF remotes:
Method 1: Use the WZ1's Match key
- Match: Short press the WZ1's Match key, then immediately press the ON/OFF key (for single zone remotes) or the zone key (for multiple zone remotes) on the remote. A few flashes of the LED indicator confirm a successful match.
- Delete: Press and hold the WZ1's Match key for 15 seconds. A few flashes of the LED indicator confirm that all matched remotes have been deleted.
Method 2: Use Power Restart
- Match: Switch off the WZ1's power, then switch it on again. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key (single zone) or zone key (multiple zone) on the remote 3 times. The light blinking 3 times confirms a successful match.
- Delete: Switch off the WZ1's power, then switch it on again. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key (single zone) or zone key (multiple zone) on the remote 5 times. The light blinking 5 times confirms that all matched remotes have been deleted.
WZ1 as ZigBee-RF Converter
The WZ1 can function as a ZigBee-RF converter to match RF LED controllers or dimming drivers.
