Mechanical Structures and Installations

The controller features standard input and output terminals for power and LED strips. It includes an installation rack, a DC socket input, and an LED indicator. A 'Match/Set' key is provided for configuration and pairing.

System Wiring

The system wiring illustrates how the WZ5 controller connects to a network via WiFi or a Tuya ZigBee Gateway, enabling control through a mobile phone app (Tuya APP) or voice assistants like Amazon ECHO. The controller can also directly control RF LED controllers or dimming drivers. Wireless connection distances are up to 30m (100ft) in spacious environments. Wired connections are also supported.

Notes:

• The specified distances are measured in spacious, unobstructed environments; actual test distances may vary.
• A Tuya ZigBee gateway is required for remote control and voice control functionality.

Wiring Diagram

The WZ5 controller supports various LED strip types, each with a specific wiring diagram and pairing procedure.

For RGB+CCT

Connects to AC100-240V power supply (12-24VDC constant voltage) and an RGB+CCT LED strip. To set the controller to RGB+CCT mode, press and hold the Match/Set key for 16 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns blue, then release. Follow Tuya APP smart config or short press the Match key to pair with an RGB+CCT RF remote.

For RGBW

Connects to AC100-240V power supply (12-24VDC constant voltage) and an RGBW LED strip. To set the controller to RGBW mode, press and hold the Match/Set key for 14 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns green, then release. Follow Tuya APP smart config or short press the Match key to pair with an RGBW RF remote.

For RGB

Connects to AC100-240V power supply (12-24VDC constant voltage) and an RGB LED strip. To set the controller to RGB mode, press and hold the Match/Set key for 12 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns red, then release. Follow Tuya APP smart config or short press the Match key to pair with an RGB RF remote.

For Dual Color CCT

Connects to AC100-240V power supply (12-24VDC constant voltage) and a dual-color CCT LED strip. To set the controller to CCT mode, press and hold the Match/Set key for 10 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns yellow, then release. Follow Tuya APP smart config or short press the Match key to pair with a CCT RF remote.

For Single Color

Connects to a 12-24VDC power adapter or constant voltage power supply and a single-color LED strip. To set the controller to DIM mode, press and hold the Match/Set key for 8 seconds until the RUN LED indicator turns white, then release. Follow Tuya APP smart config or short press the Match key to pair with a dimming RF remote.

Tuya APP Network Connection

To connect to the Tuya APP:

• Press and hold the Match/Set key for 2 seconds to reset the ZigBee network (LED indicator turns cyan).
• Press and hold the Match/Set key for 5 seconds, or press it twice quickly, or press and hold for 8-16 seconds to set 5 different light types. This clears previous network connections and enters configuration mode (purple LED indicator flashes rapidly).
• Upon successful Tuya APP connection, the RUN LED indicator stops flashing purple and displays the color corresponding to the selected light type (White: DIM, Yellow: CCT, Red: RGB, Green: RGBW, Blue: RGB+CCT).
• The device will appear in the Tuya APP as SKYDANCE-ZB-RGB+CCT (or other type like DIM, CCT, RGB, RGBW).

Tuya APP Interface Descriptions

White Interface

For DIM type: Use the brightness slider to adjust brightness.

For RGB type: Use the brightness slider to get mixed white first, then adjust white brightness.

For RGBW type: Use the brightness slider to adjust the white channel brightness.

Color Temperature Interface

For CCT type: Use the color wheel to adjust color temperature and the brightness slider to adjust brightness.

For RGB+CCT type: Use the color wheel to adjust color temperature (RGB will turn off automatically). Use the brightness slider to adjust white brightness.

Color Interface

For RGB or RGBW type: Use the color wheel to adjust static RGB color, the brightness slider for color brightness, and the saturation slider for color saturation (gradient from current color to white).

For RGB+CCT type: Use the color wheel to adjust static RGB color (WW/CW will turn off automatically). Use the brightness slider for color brightness, and the saturation slider for color saturation (gradient from current color to white).

Scene Interface

Scenes 1-4 offer static colors for all light types, with editable inner colors.

Scenes 5-8 provide dynamic modes for RGB, RGBW, and RGB+CCT types, including effects like green fade in/out, RGB jump, 6-color jump, and 6-color smooth.

Music, Timer, Schedule

Music playback can be synchronized with smart phone music players or the microphone.

The Timer function allows turning the light on or off within the next 24 hours.

The Schedule function enables setting multiple timers for different time periods.

Remote Control Matching (Optional)

Users can choose between two methods for matching or deleting RF remotes:

Method 1: Using the WZ5's Match Key

• Match: Short press the WZ5's Match/Set key, then immediately press the On/Off key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) on the remote. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Press and hold the WZ5's Match/Set key for 20 seconds. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates all matched remotes have been deleted.

Method 2: Using Power Restart

• Match: Switch off the WZ5's power, then switch it back on. Immediately short press the On/Off key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) 3 times on the remote. The light blinking 3 times indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Switch off the WZ5's power, then switch it back on. Immediately short press the On/Off key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) 5 times on the remote. The light blinking 5 times indicates all matched remotes have been deleted.

WZ5 as ZigBee-RF Converter for RF Controllers/Dimming Drivers

The WZ5 can also act as a ZigBee-RF converter. Users can match RF LED controllers or dimming drivers using the following methods:

Method 1: Using the Controller's Match Key (via Tuya APP)

• Match: Short press the controller's Match/Set key, then immediately press the On/Off key on the Tuya APP. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Press and hold the controller's Match/Set key for 5 seconds. The LED indicator flashing rapidly indicates the match has been deleted.

Method 2: Using Power Restart (via Tuya APP)

• Match: Switch off the controller's power, then switch it back on. Immediately short press the On/Off key 3 times on the Tuya APP. The light blinking 3 times indicates a successful match.
• Delete: Switch off the controller's power, then switch it back on. Immediately short press the On/Off key 5 times on the Tuya APP. The light blinking 5 times indicates the match has been deleted.
