Mechanical Structures and Installations

The WT5 controller is a compact unit with dimensions of 114.00 mm length, 38.00 mm width, and 20.00 mm height. It features a DC socket input for power (12-24VDC) and screw terminals for connecting the LED output (+, Red -, Green -, Blue -, Warm White -, Cold White -). A MATCH/SET key and an LED indicator are also present on the unit.

System Wiring

The system wiring illustrates connectivity options. The WT5 controller connects to a 12-24VDC power supply. It can be controlled via WiFi through a mobile phone and Tuya Cloud, or via RF 2.4GHz remote controls. Voice control is supported through smart speakers like Amazon Echo. The control distance for RF remotes is up to 30 meters in barrier-free environments. The diagram shows the WT5 unit connected to various LED strips (DIM, CCT, RGB, RGBW, RGB+CCT) and optional RF remotes for each type.

Wiring Diagrams and Setup

The controller supports multiple LED strip types, which can be configured by pressing and holding the MATCH/SET key for specific durations:

• RGB+CCT: Press and hold MATCH/SET for 16s until the RUN LED indicator turns blue. Connects to RGB+CCT LED strips.
• RGBW: Press and hold MATCH/SET for 14s until the RUN LED indicator turns green. Connects to RGBW LED strips.
• RGB: Press and hold MATCH/SET for 12s until the RUN LED indicator turns red. Connects to RGB LED strips.
• CCT (Color Temperature): Press and hold MATCH/SET for 10s until the RUN LED indicator turns yellow. Connects to dual-color LED strips.
• DIM (Single Color): Press and hold MATCH/SET for 8s until the RUN LED indicator turns white. Connects to single-color LED strips.

Each configuration requires subsequent smart config via the Tuya APP or short pressing the MATCH key to pair with the corresponding RF remote.

Note: The maximum control distance is measured in spacious, unobstructed environments. Ensure the WiFi router operates on the 2.4GHz band, not the 5GHz band, and that the network is not hidden. Keep the WT5 device close to the router for optimal WiFi signal strength.

Tuya APP Network Connection

To connect the WT5 to the Tuya APP:

• Smart Config Mode: Press and hold the MATCH/SET key for 2 seconds, or press it twice quickly. The purple LED indicator will flash rapidly. This mode is for initial network setup.
• AP Config Mode: Press and hold the MATCH/SET key for 5 seconds. The purple LED indicator will flash slowly. This mode can be used if Smart Config fails.

Upon successful connection, the RUN LED indicator will stop flashing purple and display the color corresponding to the set light type (White for DIM, Yellow for CCT, Red for RGB, Green for RGBW, Blue for RGB+CCT). The device will appear in the Tuya APP as "SKYDANCE-RGB+CCT" (or similar for other types).

Tuya APP Interface Functions

The Tuya APP provides comprehensive control:

• White Interface:
  • For DIM type: Adjust brightness using a slide control.
  • For RGB type: Adjust brightness of mixed white.
  • For RGBW type: Adjust white channel brightness.
• Color Temperature Interface:
  • For CCT type: Adjust color temperature using a color wheel and brightness using a slide control.
  • For RGB+CCT type: Adjust color temperature using a color wheel (RGB turns off automatically) and white brightness using a slide control.
• Color Interface:
  • For RGB or RGBW type: Adjust static RGB color via a color wheel, color brightness via a slide control, and color saturation (gradient to white) via a slide control.
  • For RGB+CCT type: Adjust static RGB color via a color wheel (WW/CW turn off automatically), color brightness via a slide control, and color saturation (gradient to white) via a slide control.
• Scene Interface: Scenes 1-4 allow for static color customization. Scenes 5-8 offer dynamic modes like RGB jump, smooth transitions, and multi-color effects for RGB, RGBW, and RGB+CCT types.
• Music, Timer, Schedule:
  • Music Play: Utilizes smartphone music player or microphone input for synchronized lighting effects.
  • Timer: Allows setting lights to turn on/off within the next 24 hours.
  • Schedule: Enables multiple timers for automated light control based on specific times and periods.

WT5 Match Remote Control (Optional)

Users can match or delete RF remotes using two methods:

Method 1: Using the WT5's Match Key

• Match: Short press the MATCH key on the WT5, then immediately press the ON/OFF key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) on the remote. A few flashes of the LED indicator confirm success.
• Delete: Press and hold the MATCH key on the WT5 for 20 seconds. A few flashes of the LED indicator confirm that all matched remotes have been deleted.

Method 2: Using Power Restart

• Match: Switch off the WT5, then switch it on again. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) on the remote 3 times. The light blinking 3 times confirms success.
• Delete: Switch off the WT5, then switch it on again. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key (single zone remote) or zone key (multiple zone remote) on the remote 5 times. The light blinking 5 times confirms that all matched remotes have been deleted.

WT5 as WiFi-RF Converter

The WT5 can also function as a WiFi-RF converter to control other RF LED controllers or dimming drivers synchronously via the Tuya APP. The matching and deletion procedures are similar:

Method 1: Using the Controller's Match Key

• Match: Short press the MATCH key on the controller, then immediately press the ON/OFF key on the Tuya APP. LED indicator flashes confirm success.
• Delete: Press and hold the MATCH key on the controller for 5 seconds. LED indicator flashes confirm deletion of all matched remotes.

Method 2: Using Power Restart

• Match: Switch off the controller, then switch it on again. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key on the Tuya APP 3 times. Light blinking 3 times confirms success.
• Delete: Switch off the controller, then switch it on again. Immediately short press the ON/OFF key on the Tuya APP 5 times. Light blinking 5 times confirms deletion of all matched remotes.
