Tools Required
- 19mm Wrench & Socket
- Flat Screwdriver or Panel clip pliers
- Phillips Screwdriver
Installation Steps
Step 1: Remove Air Dam
Remove the air dam from the underside of the stock bumper by removing the 6 retaining clips (4 exterior and 2 inside the air dam) using a set of pliers. [Diagram: Shows locations of retaining clips.]
Step 2: Disconnect Fog Lights
Remove the factory fog light connections by pushing the tab in on the brown connector and gently pulling out.
Step 3: Remove Bumper Bolts
Remove the eight bumper attachment nuts using an 18-millimeter socket. Break the bolts loose with a breaker bar and then finish removing with a ratchet.
Step 4: Remove Frame Cover (Optional)
If you are installing a winch, remove the frame cover. This requires removing the center pin from the two clips, then pulling the clips out. For those not running a winch, the frame cover may be left on, depending on the bumper. [Diagram: Shows the frame cover and its clip removal method.]
Step 5: Included Components
You are ready to install the Nilight Front Bumper. The Nilight front bumper has 3 bolts in each side. Those three bolts will slide directly into the same mounting holes the original bumper was removed from. The 4th hole in each side will receive a bolt that came in the parts bag supplied with the bumper.
Components List:
- (1) Bumper
- (8) 12mm spring washers
- (8) 12mm Flat washers
- (2) M12 Hex head screws
- (6) M12 Nuts
- (2) D-Rings
Step 6: Mount the Bumper
Now it's time to bolt the bumper up into place. Ideally, a second person would help hold the bumper into place. Each of the 3 pre-installed bolts will attach with a flat washer, lock washer, and nut. All 8 bolt connections will be tightened.
Step 7: Wire LED Lights
These wire instructions show one way to run all 4 LED lights from the OEM fog light switch. Cut the OEM fog light sockets free from the OEM wire harness and strip the ends still connected to the Jeep. You will not need the light socket or bulb for the new bumper. The following pictures show how the wiring connections will be made.
