Instructions for Lancing Device Use
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for using your AUVON Lancing Device.
Step-by-Step Guide:
Preparation: Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water, then dry them. Remove the cap from the lancing device.

Insert Lancet: Insert a new lancet into the lancet carrier. Push down firmly until it is fully secured.

Remove Lancet Cap: Twist off the lancet's protective cap. Save the cap for later use.

Replace Cap: Snap the protective cap back onto the device.

Adjust Depth: Choose the desired penetration depth for your skin type to ensure a good blood sample with minimal discomfort. Adjustment settings are:
- 0-1: Soft or delicate skin
- 2-3: Normal skin
- 4-5: Thick or callused skin

Cock the Device: Pull the plunger of the lancing device until it clicks. The device is now prepared and ready for use. An indicator on the device will show if it is properly launched.

Perform Puncture: Hold the lancing device firmly against the site on your finger. Press the trigger to puncture the skin. The first drop of blood may contain tissue fluid and serum, which can affect test results; discard this drop. Squeeze your fingertip gently to obtain the second blood sample.

Finish: When finished, remove the cap of the lancing device. Use the protective cap to cover the needle, then eject and discard the used lancet.

Important Information
- The lancing device and lancets are for single patient use only. Do not share with others, including family members, and do not use on multiple patients.
- To improve blood flow, use warm water before testing if necessary. Dry your hands and the test site thoroughly.
- Clean the test site with an alcohol swab or soapy water. Ensure your hands are clean and dry, and gently massage the test site before collecting blood.
- Keep the lancing device clean and free from cream, lotion, or dust.
- Always use a new and sterile lancet for each test. Do not reuse lancets.
- To prevent accidental stab wounds, the lancet can only be released when triggered and will automatically withdraw back into the device after use.
Care for the Lancing Device
Clean the lancing device using a soft cloth with mild soap and warm water as needed. Carefully dry the lancing device. Do not immerse the lancing device in liquid.
