Product Overview

This document provides a comprehensive installation guide for the iDatalink ADS-AL(DL)-TL7-EN, an all-in-one remote starter and bypass module designed for select Lexus and Toyota vehicles. The ADS-AL(DL)-TL7-EN is compatible with various Lexus and Toyota models. The following table outlines the features available for each vehicle type:

Important Notes and Warnings

Door Lock Synchronization

The door lock signal is encrypted on select models. For proper operation, the bypass module must be synchronized with this encrypted signal. Driving the vehicle can cause desynchronization. To regain synchronization, the bypass module needs to detect factory keyless codes (OEM remote or proximity lock/unlock). If the vehicle is driven without using the factory keyless system to lock/unlock, the aftermarket remote will not function until it receives a factory keyless code. For continuous operation without using the factory keyless system, additional wiring is required (see wiring diagram). This ensures the bypass remains synchronized with the encryption.

The system also supports 'External Remote Control Arm and Disarm', allowing the bypass to arm and disarm aftermarket alarms using OEM Keyless entry. If used exclusively in this manner, hardwired remote starter door locks are not necessary.

It is recommended to use a one-button remote control for these vehicles, as the factory keyless system operates normally during remote start, and takeover is not supported.

Installation Mode Selection

1. Select Installation Mode: Press and release the programming button to select the installation mode. The LED will flash once for DATA MODE or twice for STANDARD HARDWIRE MODE.

2. Register Selection: Press and hold the programming button until the LED turns solid GREEN to register the selection.

Note: After registration, follow the Factory Reset Procedure to change the installation mode and restart this procedure.

Module Programming Procedure

1. Push the start button twice [2x] to the ON position.
2. Wait for the LED to turn solid GREEN for 2 seconds, then proceed to step 7.
3. If the LED flashes GREEN rapidly, proceed to step 3.
4. Wait for the LED to turn solid RED. (This may take up to 5 minutes.)
5. Push the start button twice [2x] to the ON position.
6. Wait for the LED to turn solid GREEN for 2 seconds.
7. Push the start button once [1x] to the OFF position.
8. Module Programming Procedure completed.

Identify Vehicle Year

Locate the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Identify the 10th character of the VIN and match it to the corresponding year in the table below:

Module Diagnostics

Factory Reset Procedure

1. Disconnect all connectors from the module EXCEPT the black 4-PIN standard or optional data connector.
2. Disconnect the black 4-PIN standard or optional data connector.
3. Press and hold the programming button while connecting either the 4-PIN standard or optional data connector.
4. When the LED flashes red, release the programming button. The LED will turn solid red for 2 seconds.
5. Reset completed.
6. Reconnect all connectors.
7. Repeat programming procedure.

Failure to follow procedure may result with a DTC or a CHECK ENGINE error message.
