IKEA Kitchen Warranty Information
IKEA kitchens are designed to withstand the demands of daily use, including heavy weights, high temperatures, and frequent use. This commitment to quality allows IKEA to offer comprehensive commercial warranties on its kitchen systems and related products.
Warranty Durations and Coverage
IKEA provides different warranty periods for its kitchen systems:
- METOD Kitchen System: 25 years of commercial warranty covering material and manufacturing defects.
- ENHET Kitchen System: 10 years of commercial warranty covering material and manufacturing defects.
- KNOXHULT Kitchen System: 5 years of commercial warranty covering material and manufacturing defects.

- Appliances: 5 years of commercial warranty for most IKEA appliances, excluding TILLREDA and LAGAN, which have legal guarantees.
What is Covered
The warranties cover material and manufacturing defects for products used exclusively for domestic purposes. Specific components covered under each system are detailed in the original document.
What is Not Covered
The warranties do not cover:
- Normal wear and tear, scratches, or damage from impact or accidents.
- Incorrect installation, maintenance, or cleaning.
- Products used for professional purposes or in non-domestic environments.
- Consumable parts like batteries and bulbs.
- Damage caused by corrosive environments or water.
- Unauthorized repairs or the use of non-original parts.
- Cosmetic damage that does not affect functionality, such as minor color differences.
- Damage incurred during self-transportation of products.
Warranty Service and Claims
To claim the warranty, the original purchase receipt is required. IKEA Portugal will examine the product to determine if the defect is covered. Repairs or replacements will be at IKEA's discretion, offering an equivalent or lower-value alternative if the original product is discontinued. Customers are responsible for proving the non-conformity of the product.
Post-Sales Service
IKEA offers a 2-year post-sales service for doors and drawer fronts of IKEA kitchens, ensuring availability of these components even after discontinuation. Spare parts and necessary hardware for repairs will be available for 10 years after the last unit of a product is placed on the market.
Safety and Compliance
IKEA kitchen systems, including cabinets, countertops, and hinges, are developed and tested according to relevant European standards (e.g., EN 14749, EN 16122, EN 12720, EN 12721, EN 12722) to ensure structural design, mechanical resistance, safety, and production quality within the EU.
Dispute Resolution
In case of consumer disputes, consumers can refer to authorized consumer arbitration centers. IKEA Portugal can be contacted for inquiries via their customer service, chat, or online form, with more information available at IKEA.pt.
