Power Up

Follow these steps to set up your Atomic Digital Wall Clock and Outdoor Sensor:

  1. Insert 2-AA batteries into your Outdoor Sensor.
  2. Insert 2-AA batteries into your Digital Clock.
  3. Once the Outdoor Sensor is transmitting to your clock, place it outside in a shaded location to protect it from the sun's heat.

Custom Date Display

This versatile clock allows you to display either the outdoor temperature or seconds counting in the designated outdoor area. Press the [+] button to toggle between these options. The clock will remain on the selected display.

Indoor Comfort Statement

The indoor comfort indicator provides an at-a-glance assessment of your home's humidity level, indicating if it is humid, comfortable, or dry. This helps you make informed decisions about adding or removing humidity for optimal comfort.

LCD Features

The clock's LCD screen displays various information. Here is a breakdown of the key elements:

  • 1. Buttons (on back): Controls for setting and adjusting the clock.
  • 2. Atomic Signal Reception Tower: Indicates the status of the atomic time signal reception.
  • 3. Low Battery Icon (Clock): Alerts you when the clock's batteries need replacement.
  • 4. Snooze Icon: Appears when the snooze function is active.
  • 5. Alarm Icon: Indicates when the alarm is set and active.
  • 6. AM/PM Indicator: Shows whether the displayed time is AM or PM.
  • 7. Atomic Time: Displays the time synchronized via the atomic signal.
  • 8. Indoor Humidity: Shows the current indoor humidity percentage.
  • 9. Indoor Comfort Statement: Displays the comfort level based on humidity.
  • 10. Indoor Temperature: Shows the current indoor temperature.
  • 11. Outdoor Temp or Seconds: Displays either the outdoor temperature or a seconds counter.
  • 12. Weekday: Shows the current day of the week.
  • 13. Month/Date: Displays the current month and day.
  • 14. Sensor Reception Strength: Indicates the signal strength from the outdoor sensor.
  • 15. Outdoor Temperature Trend: Shows how the outdoor temperature has changed over time.

Settings Menu

To access the Settings Menu:

  1. Hold the [SET] button for 2 seconds.
  2. Use the [+] or [-] buttons to adjust values.
  3. Press the [SET] button to confirm and move to the next item.
  4. Press the [SNOOZE] button at any time to exit the menu.

Settings Menu Order:

  • Beep ON | OFF
  • Atomic ON | OFF
  • Daylight Saving Time ON | OFF
  • Time Zone
  • 12/24 Hour Time
  • Hour
  • Minutes
  • Year
  • Month
  • Date
  • Fahrenheit | Celsius

Note: If 'Atomic OFF' is selected, the next step will be the Hour setting. The weekday will set automatically once the Year, Month, and Date are set.

Atomic Time

Your clock automatically searches for the Atomic Time Signal at UTC 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00.

  • Press the [SET] button to manually start or stop the WWVB Atomic Time Signal search.
  • During the search, the signal tower icon [signal icon] will flash. It will appear solid once the WWVB Signal is successfully received.
  • Ensure you have selected the correct time zone in the Settings menu. The clock will synchronize to the selected time zone upon receiving the atomic time signal. The default time zone is Eastern Time.

Time Alarm

Set Time Alarm

To set the alarm:

  1. Hold the [ALARM] button for 2 seconds to enter settings mode.
  2. Use the [+] or [-] buttons to adjust the flashing values. Hold the buttons for quicker adjustment.
  3. Press the [ALARM] button to confirm adjustments and proceed to the next item.
  4. Press the [SNOOZE] button at any time to exit.

Activate/Deactivate Time Alarm

  • The alarm is active once set.
  • From the normal time display, press and release the [ALARM] button to deactivate or activate the alarm. The alarm time will be displayed for 2 seconds.
  • The alarm icon [alarm icon] will appear when the alarm is active.

Snooze Alarm

  • When the alarm sounds, press the [SNOOZE] button to silence it for 10 minutes. The snooze icon [snooze icon] will flash.
  • Press any button except [SNOOZE] to silence the alarm for 24 hours.

Indoor/Outdoor Temperature

Indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity readings are displayed in the lower section of the clock.

  • You can select Fahrenheit or Celsius units in the Settings menu.
  • Temperature trend arrows provide a visual indication of temperature changes over the past 3 hours.
  • The outdoor sensor reception signal strength indicates the connection quality between the sensor and the clock.

Temperature Trend Arrows

The outdoor temperature (2°F / 1°C) trend indicators update every 30 minutes or less, providing a 3-hour comparison that changes every hour.

Example: At 3:00, data is compared to 12:00; at 3:30, data is compared to 12:30, and so on.

Outdoor Sensor Reception

  • Hold the [-] button for 3 seconds to search for the sensor.
  • The signal strength icon [signal icon] will flash until the sensor signal is received or for 3 minutes if no signal is available.
  • The signal icon will appear solid when the sensor is successfully connected.

Factory Restart

If outdoor readings show dashes and searching for the sensor has not resolved the issue, perform a full restart:

  1. Bring the sensor indoors, approximately five feet from the clock.
  2. Remove batteries from both the sensor and the clock.
  3. Press any button on the clock 20 times.
  4. After 15 minutes, reinsert batteries into the sensor and the clock.
  5. Wait another 15 minutes to establish a strong connection. Place the sensor outside in a shaded location.

Low Battery Indicators

A low battery indicator next to the time signifies that the batteries in your station need to be replaced.

Sensor Weather Shield

The Sensor Weather Shield (sold separately) is designed to protect your outdoor sensor from rain and snow. It also offers limited protection from the sun's heat.

Care & Maintenance

  • Do not mix old and new batteries.
  • Do not mix Alkaline, Lithium, standard, or rechargeable batteries.
  • Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery suitable for intended use.
  • Clean battery contacts and device contacts before battery installation.
  • Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity (+ / -).
  • Remove batteries from equipment not in use for extended periods.
  • Promptly remove expired batteries.
