1. Welcome & Features
Thank you for choosing the Jabra Engage 45 SE.
Key Features:
- World's lightest DECT headset (21g, convertible).
- Integrated Busylight to avoid disturbances.
- Long battery life: Up to 13 hours (stereo/mono), 9 hours (convertible).
- Extended wireless range: Up to 150m (stereo/mono), 100m (convertible).
- Secure DECT AES 256-bit encryption.
2. What's in the Box
The Jabra Engage 45 SE is available in Stereo, Mono, and Convertible versions. Each includes a base, headset, power supply, and telephone cable. Optional accessories like neckbands, handset lifters, and EHS adapters are available separately.
3. Wearing Instructions
Stereo/Mono Headset:
Wear with microphone on the left or right side.
Convertible Headset:
Wear over the left or right ear. Adjust the ear hook for a secure fit. You can change the wearing style between headband and neckband.
SAFETY NOTE: Ear sensors can detect user presence. Microphones can record private conversations.
4. First Use & Setup
- Connect the phone.
- Plug in the power supply.
- Place headset on base to charge.
- Test call.
- Put on headset and answer.
Connecting to Desk Phones:
- With Headset Port: Use headset port and optional EHS adapter.
- Without Headset Port: Use handset port and optional GN1000 Handset Lifter.
Note: USB-C is for configuration/firmware updates only.
SAFETY NOTE: DECT connections use security certification and FIPS 256-bit encryption. USB data is not encrypted.
4.3 Charging
Place headset on the base. Battery life: up to 13 hours (stereo/mono), 9 hours (convertible). Full charge: ~1.5 hours. 40% charge: ~30 minutes.
5. Base Overview & LEDs
The base indicates Call status, Battery status, Mute, and Conference mode.
LED Status:
- Microphone: Red dot (off), Hollow circle (on).
- Battery: Flashing yellow (charging), Solid green (full), yellow (medium), red (low), flashing red (very low).
- Other: Pulsing blue (standby), Flashing blue (pairing), Flashing green (incoming call), Solid green (call in progress), Solid yellow (call on hold).
Desk Phone Volume & Tone:
- Adjust microphone volume using base +/- buttons.
- If no dial tone, adjust the base tone switch (A-G).
6. Jabra Direct Software
Manage and update your headset via Jabra Direct. Download at jabra.com/direct.
Firmware Updates: Connect headset via USB-C and follow prompts in Jabra Direct.
7. Usage Instructions
Call Functions:
Function | Action |
---|---|
Power On/Off | Press Call button or remove/place on base. Hold Call for 4s to power off. |
Answer/End Call | Press Call button or remove/place on base. |
Reject Call | Double-press Call button. |
Adjust Volume | Use Volume buttons. |
Mute/Unmute | Press Mute button. |
Toggle Busylight | Press both Volume buttons. |
Conference Calls:
Add up to 3 additional headsets. Primary headset must be in call mode. Follow on-screen prompts or Jabra Direct for setup.
Call Transfer:
Transfer calls between headset and desk phone by removing/placing headset on base or using desk phone controls.
Voice Notifications:
Change language (FR, EN, DE, ES, JP) via headset menu (Volume buttons) or Jabra Direct.
Pairing New Primary Headset:
Follow methods A, B, or C described in the manual to replace the current primary headset.
Resetting:
Reset base or headset manually by holding specific buttons (see manual for details) or via Jabra Direct.
8. Settings
Adjust settings like voice notifications, tone, range, and lifter type via headset menu or Jabra Direct.
