Intended Use
The appliance is suitable for cooling food products in a domestic or household-like environment, including staff kitchens, bed and breakfast establishments, country houses, hotels, motels, and catering services. It is not designed for built-in installation or for freezing food (note: some sections discuss freezing, indicating potential model variations or a general guide context).
General Safety Information
⚠️ Danger for the user:
- This appliance can be used by children and individuals with impaired physical, sensory, or mental abilities, or lack of experience, provided they are supervised or instructed in its safe use and associated hazards.
- Children must not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without adult supervision.
- Children aged 3-8 may load and unload the appliance.
- Children under 3 must be kept away from the appliance unless under continuous adult supervision.
- Always hold the plug, not the cable, when disconnecting from the supply.
- In case of a fault, pull the mains plug or deactivate the fuse.
- Do not operate with a damaged mains power cable.
- Repairs and interventions must be carried out by authorized service personnel only.
- Assemble, connect, and dispose of the appliance according to instructions. Keep instructions for future owners.

- Do not hold the hinge when opening/closing the door; fingers may get caught.
Symbols on the Appliance
- Compressor oil symbol: Swallowing or inhaling can be fatal (relevant for recycling).
- Flammable materials symbol: Indicates flammable materials (do not remove sticker).
- Foam-padded panels symbol: Relevant for recycling (do not remove sticker).

Operating and Control Elements
The appliance features control buttons and a display. Key elements include:

Temperature Display
The display shows the highest freezing temperature during normal operation. It flashes when settings are changed, the appliance is not cold enough, or the temperature rises. Stripes flash if the freezer temperature exceeds 0°C. Faults are indicated by codes F0 to F9.
Putting into Operation
Transporting the Appliance
Transport the appliance upright in suitable packaging. Do not transport it alone.
Installing the Appliance
⚠️ Fire Hazard due to Dampness:
- Prevent mains lead/connectors from touching the appliance's rear to avoid short circuits due to vibrations.
- Ensure the appliance is not touched by connectors or main cables.
- Do not plug into sockets near the rear of the appliance.
⚠️ Fire Hazard due to Refrigerant:
- Do not damage the refrigeration circuit piping.
⚠️ Fire Hazard and Danger of Damage:
- Do not place heat-emitting appliances (microwaves, toasters) on top of the appliance.
⚠️ Blocked Ventilation Openings:
- Always keep ventilation openings clear for proper ventilation.
? Note on Condensate:
- Do not install directly alongside another refrigerator/freezer.
Installation Site Requirements:
- The floor must be horizontal and even.
- Do not install in direct sunlight, next to ovens, or radiators.
- A dry, well-ventilated room is ideal.
- Install with the rear panel against the wall, using supplied wall spacers (approx. 35 mm depth increase).
- Move the appliance only when empty.
- Ensure the supporting surface is level with the surrounding floor.
- For appliances with significant coolant, ensure adequate room size (at least 1 m³ per 8g of coolant).
- Detach the connecting cable from the rear to prevent vibratory noise.
- Remove protective film from the exterior.
? Note on Stainless Steel Care:
- Use only soft, clean cloths for stainless steel surfaces. Mild water or neutral detergent can be used for heavy dirt. Micro-fibre cloths are also suitable.
Changing Over Door Hinges
The door hinges can be changed if necessary. Tools required: Torx® 25, Torx® 15, screwdriver, optional battery-powered screwdriver, and a second person for fitting.
Steps involve detaching the door, changing bearing parts, transferring the handle, fitting the door, and aligning it. Follow detailed diagrams and instructions to avoid injury or appliance damage.
Insertion into a Row of Kitchen Units
The appliance can be integrated into kitchen units. Ensure adequate ventilation clearances (depth D, width C) at the back and top. The appliance may need to protrude (depth B) to allow full door opening. Refer to diagrams for specific dimensions and requirements.
Connecting the Appliance

- Do not use standalone inverters or energy-saving plugs.

Ensure the type of current and voltage match the appliance's data plate. Use a properly earthed and fused socket (10-16 A fuse). The socket must be easily accessible.
Switching on the Appliance
Press the On/Off button. The temperature display will show the current temperature. The interior light activates when the door is open. If "DEMO" is displayed, contact after-sales service.
Control Functions
Brightness of the Temperature Display
Adjustable from h0 (no illumination) to h5 (maximum). Enter setting mode via the SuperFrost button (hold for 5s), select brightness level, confirm, and exit setting mode.
Child Proofing
Activates a child lock to prevent accidental switching off. Enter setting mode via the SuperFrost button (hold for 5s), select lock status (c1 for lock, c0 for unlock), and confirm.
Door Alarm
An audible warning sounds if the door is open for over 60 seconds. The alarm can be muted by pressing the alarm button.
Temperature Alarm
An audible alarm sounds if the freezer temperature is too high. The display and alarm symbol flash. Causes include warm food, frequent door opening, power outages, or faults. The alarm silences when the temperature is correct. Mute by pressing the alarm button.
Freezing Food
Observe the maximum freezing capacity indicated on the type plate. Pack food in portions. Do not freeze bottles or cans containing drinks, as they may burst.
Thawing Food
Thaw food in the refrigerator, microwave, oven, or at room temperature. Use thawed food quickly. Re-freezing is only recommended in exceptional cases.
Setting the Temperature
Temperature can be set between -14°C and -28°C; -18°C is recommended. Adjust using Up/Down buttons. Continuous adjustment is possible by holding the button.
SuperFrost
Activates maximum cooling for rapid freezing of fresh food. The appliance may run louder temporarily. Activate in advance (6-24 hours) depending on the quantity of food.
Fan
The fan helps cool food rapidly and distribute temperature evenly. It may run during SuperCool or at high room temperatures/humidity. It switches off automatically when the door is open to save energy.
Shelves and Drawers
Shelves can be moved or removed. Drawers can be removed. VarioSpace allows removal of shelves and drawers for larger items. The special drawer for herbs and berries is useful for freezing small items without sticking.
Freezer Pack
Freezer packs help maintain temperature during power cuts. Place frozen packs on top of frozen food.
Maintenance
Defrosting with NoFrost
The NoFrost system automatically defrosts the appliance. Manual defrosting is not required.
Cleaning the Appliance
⚠️ Risk of Injury/Damage from Hot Steam:
- Do not use steam cleaners.

- Do not use concentrated cleaning agents, abrasive sponges, steel wool, sharp or abrasive cleaning agents, or those containing sand, chloride, or acid.
- Do not use chemical solvents.
- Do not damage the type plate.
- Do not damage cables or components.
- Prevent cleaning water from entering drain channels, ventilation grilles, or electrical parts.
- Use soft cloths and pH-neutral cleaning agents.
- Use cleaning products suitable for food contact in the interior.
Cleaning Steps:
- Empty the appliance.
- Pull out the power plug.
- Clean interior/exterior surfaces with lukewarm water and mild detergent.
- For painted surfaces, use a soft, damp cloth.
- Clean drain holes with a narrow instrument (e.g., cotton bud).
- Dismantle parts as described in relevant chapters.
- Clean drawers and other items with lukewarm water and mild detergent.
- Use a damp cloth for telescopic rails; do not remove grease.
- Wipe dry all parts.
- Reconnect and switch on the appliance.
- Once sufficiently cold, return food.
Customer Service
First, check the Malfunctions section. If the fault persists, contact customer service using the details in the enclosed list. Provide appliance designation, service number, and serial number for faster service. Keep the appliance closed until service arrives. Pull out the mains plug or switch off the fuse before service.
Malfunctions
Troubleshoot common issues:
- Appliance does not work: Check power connection, wall socket fuse.
- Compressor runs for a long time: Normal for energy-saving models, SuperFrost activation, or rapid cooling.
- Excessive noise: Speed-regulated compressors may produce different noises; this is normal.
- Bubbling/gurgling noise: Refrigerant flow; normal.
- Clicking noise: Refrigeration unit switching on/off; normal.
- Hum: Motor switching on, SuperFrost, or door left open; normal.
- Low hum: Fan noise; normal.
- Vibration noises: Ensure appliance is level and stable; align adjustable feet.
- Temperature display F0 to F9: Indicates a fault; contact after-sales service.
- Power failure flash: Indicates highest temperature reached during power outage; press alarm button to cancel.
- DEMO mode: Contact after-sales service.
- Outer surfaces warm: Normal heat dissipation from refrigeration circuit.
- Temperature not cold enough: Check door closure, ventilation, ambient temperature, frequency of door opening, temperature setting, proximity to heat sources.
- Internal light not on: Check if appliance is switched on, door open time, or if LED/cover is faulty. Warning: Do not attempt to repair LED light yourself.
- Door gasket defective: May need replacement; contact after-sales service.
- Unit iced up/condensation: Check door seal seating.
Decommissioning and Disposal
Switching off the Appliance
Press the On/Off button for approx. 2 seconds. The display darkens. If it cannot be switched off, the child lock may be active.
Taking the Appliance out of Service
Empty the appliance, switch it off, remove the mains connector, clean it, and leave the door open to prevent odors.
Disposing of the Appliance
Dispose of the appliance responsibly, as it contains reusable materials. Do not mix with household waste. Ensure the cooling circuit is not damaged during disposal to prevent coolant or oil leakage. Follow local regulations for professional disposal. For Germany, free disposal may be available at local recycling centers.
Decommissioning steps: Pull out the plug and cut through the connecting cable.
