1 Appliance at a Glance
This section provides an overview of the appliance and its components.
1.1 Description of Appliance and Equipment

1.2 Appliance Range of Use
Intended Use: This appliance is designed solely for cooling food products in a domestic or household-like environment. This includes use in staff kitchens, bed and breakfast establishments, hotels, motels, and catering services. Any other use is not permitted.
Foreseeable Misuse: Certain applications are expressly forbidden, including storing medicines, blood plasma, laboratory preparations, or using the appliance in areas at risk of explosions. Misuse can lead to damage or spoilage of stored goods.
1.3 Conformity
The appliance complies with applicable safety stipulations and directives, including 2014/35/EU, 2014/30/EU, 2009/125/EG, 2011/65/EU, and 2010/30/EU. The refrigerant circuit has been tested for leaks.
1.4 EPREL Database
Details on energy labelling and ecodesign requirements are available on the European product database (EPREL) from March 1, 2021. Access is via https://eprel.ec.europa.eu/, using the model ID found on the nameplate.
1.5 Saving Energy
To save energy:
- Ensure good ventilation; do not cover ventilation holes or grids.
- Keep fan air slits clear.
- Avoid direct sunlight, ovens, or radiators when installing.
- Energy consumption is influenced by ambient temperature; warmer temperatures increase consumption.
- Open the appliance for the shortest time possible.
- Lower temperature settings increase energy consumption.

- Keep food properly packed and covered to prevent frost.
Additional energy-saving tips include taking food out only when necessary, cooling warm food before storing, thawing frozen food in the refrigerator, and emptying/switching off the appliance for long holidays.
2 General Safety Information
Danger for the User: This appliance can be used by children and individuals with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience, provided they are supervised or instructed in its safe use and associated hazards. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and maintenance should only be done by children under adult supervision. Children aged 3-8 can load/unload; younger children must be kept away unless supervised.
- Always pull the plug, not the cable, when disconnecting from the supply.
- In case of a fault, pull the mains plug or deactivate the fuse.
- Do not operate with a damaged mains power cable.
- Repairs and interventions must be performed by qualified personnel only.
- Install, connect, and dispose of the appliance according to instructions.
- Keep these instructions in a safe place.
Fire Hazard: The coolant used is eco-friendly but flammable. Leaking coolant may ignite.
- Do not damage refrigerant circuit pipes.
- Do not handle ignition sources inside the appliance.
- Do not use electrical appliances like steam cleaners or heaters inside.
- If refrigerant leaks, remove ignition sources, ventilate the room, and inform customer services.
Forbidden Applications:
- Storing explosives or sprays with combustible propellants (e.g., butane, propane).
- Storing alcoholic drinks or other alcohol-containing packaging in tightly closed containers, as leaking alcohol can be ignited by electrical components.
Danger of Tipping and Falling: Do not use the plinth, drawers, or doors as a step or support, especially children.
Danger of Food Poisoning: Do not consume food stored for too long.
Danger of Frostbite, Numbness, and Pain: Avoid prolonged skin contact with cold surfaces; wear gloves.
Danger of Injury and Damage: Do not use steam cleaning equipment or open flames for defrosting. Do not use sharp implements to remove ice.
Danger of Crushing: Do not hold the hinge when opening/closing the door to avoid trapping fingers.
Symbols on the Appliance:
- A symbol on the compressor refers to oil and indicates danger if swallowed or inhaled (relevant for recycling).
- A symbol on the compressor indicates flammable materials.
- A sticker on the rear may refer to foam-padded panels (relevant for recycling).

3 Controls and Displays
This section details the appliance's controls and how to interpret the displays.
3.1 Operating and Control Elements
Figure 2 illustrates the control panel:

3.2 Temperature Display
During normal operation, the display shows the freezer and chiller temperature settings. The freezer temperature display flashes if the temperature setting is changed, the appliance is not cold enough after switching on, or the temperature rises significantly. Faults are indicated by displays F0 to F9. A flashing power failure symbol (⚡) indicates the highest temperature reached during a power outage.
4 Putting into Operation
4.1 Transporting the Appliance
Transport the appliance upright in suitable packaging. Do not transport it alone.
4.2 Disposing of Packaging
⚠️ WARNING: Danger of suffocation from packing material. Keep children away. The packaging is made of recyclable materials. Take it to an official collection point.
4.3 Switching on the Appliance
Note: It is recommended to store frozen produce at -18°C or colder. Switch on the appliance approximately 4 hours before loading for the first time.
4.3.1 Switching on the entire appliance at the freezer compartment
Open the door, then press the freezer On/Off button (6). The fridge and freezer sections turn on, temperature displays light up, and the interior light activates when the door is opened. If "DEMO" is displayed, contact after-sales service.
4.3.2 Switch on refrigerator compartment
Note: The fridge section can be switched on/off separately from the freezer section, useful for holidays.
Open the door, press the fridge On/Off button (1). The temperature displays light up, and the interior light activates when the door is opened.
5 Control
5.1 Child Proofing
The child-proofing function prevents accidental switching off. To activate or deactivate the child lock (?), press and hold the SuperFrost button (9) for approximately 5 seconds, follow display prompts, and confirm with the SuperFrost button (9). The child lock symbol (?) will appear or disappear accordingly. Setting mode can be terminated by pressing the freezer compartment On/Off button (6) or waiting 5 minutes.
5.2 Door Alarm
An audible warning (?) sounds if a door remains open for over 60 seconds. The alarm stops automatically when the door is closed. The alarm can be muted temporarily by pressing the alarm button (11).
5.3 Temperature Alarm
An audible alarm (?) sounds if the freezer temperature is too high. The temperature display and alarm symbol (12) will flash. Causes may include adding warm food, frequent door openings, power outages, or appliance faults. The alarm silences when the temperature is sufficient again. Pressing the alarm button (11) can mute it temporarily. Note: Check food quality if the temperature is not cold enough; do not consume spoiled food.
5.4 Refrigerator Compartment
Air circulation creates temperature zones; it's coldest at the rear and warmest at the front/door. Ensure adequate ventilation by keeping air slits clear.
5.4.1 Refrigerating Food
Store perishable items in the coldest zones. Use clean, sealed containers for raw meat and fish on the bottom shelf. Cover or seal foods that absorb or emit odors. Use the front area of the base shelf only for temporary placement. Avoid overcrowding to allow air circulation.
5.4.2 Setting the Temperature
Temperature depends on usage and ambient conditions. The recommended setting is 5°C. Adjustments are made in 1°C steps or continuously using the refrigerator compartment setting button (3). The new setting takes effect after approximately 5 seconds.
5.4.3 SuperCool
SuperCool provides maximum cooling for rapidly chilling large amounts of food. The fan may run, and the refrigeration unit may be temporarily louder. This function uses more energy. Activate by pressing the SuperCool button (4); the SuperCool symbol (5) will light up. It deactivates automatically or can be turned off manually by pressing the button again.
5.4.4 Shelves
Shelves have pull-out stops. To move or remove shelves, lift them slightly and pull forward. Adjust height by moving slots along supports. For full removal, tilt and pull towards the front. Insert shelves with the raised edge at the back to prevent food freezing onto the rear wall. Shelves can be dismantled for cleaning.
5.4.5 Using the Sectioned Shelf
The sectioned shelf (Figure 4) can be positioned with the glass plate (1) at the front and the glass shelf with stop face (2) at the back, ensuring stops (3) face downwards. The top part is suitable for eggs, and the bottom for quail eggs.
5.4.6 Door Racks
Door racks (Figure 5, Figure 6) can be moved and dismantled for cleaning.
5.4.7 Using the Bottle Holder
Push the bottle holder along to prevent bottles from tipping over (Figure 7).
5.4.8 Egg Tray
The egg tray can be removed and rotated. Its two parts can be used to mark different use-by dates.
5.4.9 BioCool Box
Control humidity by moving the slide controller. Move forward for low humidity, backward for high humidity. The BioCool box and roller plates can be removed for cleaning (Figure 7).
5.5 Freezer Compartment
This compartment is for storing frozen food, making ice cubes, and freezing fresh food.
5.5.1 Freezing Food
The maximum fresh food freezing capacity per 24 hours is indicated on the type plate. Drawers can hold up to 25 kg, and shelves up to 35 kg. After closing the door, wait about 1 minute for the vacuum to equalize before opening easily. CAUTION: Bottles and cans containing drinks, especially sparkling ones, may burst when frozen. Do not freeze them. Freeze food in portions, spread out, and avoid contact with already frozen items to ensure rapid freezing.
5.5.2 Storage Life
Standard storage life values for various foods in the freezer:

5.5.3 Thawing Food
Thaw food in the refrigerator, microwave, oven, or at room temperature. Remove only the required amount and use thawed food quickly. Re-freezing thawed food is generally not recommended.
5.5.4 Setting the Temperature
Temperature depends on usage and ambient conditions. The recommended setting is -18°C. Adjustments are made in 1°C steps or continuously using the freezer compartment setting button (8). The new setting takes effect after approximately 5 seconds.
5.5.5 SuperFrost
SuperFrost freezes fresh food quickly to the core, operating at maximum refrigeration. The appliance noise may temporarily increase. Activate SuperFrost about 6 hours before freezing, or 24 hours for maximum quantities, by pressing the SuperFrost button (9). The SuperFrost symbol (10) will light up. It deactivates automatically after 65 hours or can be turned off manually. Do not use SuperFrost if freezing small amounts (up to 1 kg daily) or when adding already frozen food.
5.5.6 Drawers
Ensure adequate ventilation for drawers. For NoFrost appliances, keep the bottom drawer in place and ensure fan air slits at the rear wall are clear. Drawers can be pulled forward and lifted out to access shelves.
5.5.7 Shelves
Shelves can be moved or removed for cleaning. Lift the front of the shelf to remove it, or push it back to reinsert.
6 Maintenance
6.1 Defrosting with NoFrost
The NoFrost system automatically defrosts the appliance. In the refrigerator compartment, defrosted water evaporates. Water drops or thin frost layers on the back wall are normal. Regularly clean the drain opening. The freezer compartment also defrosts automatically.
6.2 Cleaning the Appliance
Clean the appliance regularly.
- ⚠️ WARNING: Risk of injury from hot steam. Do not use steam cleaners.
- ? NOTICE: Avoid concentrated cleaning agents, abrasive sponges, sharp or abrasive cleaners, and chemical solvents. Do not damage the type plate or components.
- Ensure no cleaning water enters drain channels, ventilation grilles, or electrical parts.
- Use soft cloths and a pH-neutral cleaner. Use cleaning products suitable for food contact for the interior.
- Empty the appliance and pull out the power plug before cleaning.
- Clean exterior and interior surfaces with lukewarm water and mild washing-up liquid.
- Clean the drain hole with a narrow instrument like a cotton bud.
- Most parts, including drawers, can be dismantled for cleaning. Drawers can be washed by hand; other fittings may be dishwasher safe.
- After cleaning, dry all parts, reconnect the appliance, switch it on, and activate SuperFrost if necessary.
6.3 Customer Service
First, check for self-rectifiable faults in the Malfunctions section. If the issue persists, contact customer service using the provided list, specifying the appliance designation, service number, and serial number for faster assistance. ⚠️ WARNING: Repairs must only be carried out by qualified service personnel.
7 Malfunctions
If a malfunction occurs, check for handling errors first. The appliance is designed for long life and reliable operation.
- Appliance does not work: Check if it's switched on, power plug is inserted correctly, and the wall socket fuse is functional.
- Compressor runs for a long time: This can be normal in energy-saving models, or when SuperFrost or SuperCool is activated, or when large amounts of fresh food are added.
- LED flashes: A flashing LED on the rear compressor indicates a fault; contact after-sales service.
- Excessive noise: Different running noises from speed-regulated compressors are normal. Bubbling/gurgling comes from refrigerant flow. Clicking noises occur when the motor switches on/off.
- Humming noise: A hum is normal, especially when the refrigeration unit switches on, or when SuperFrost/SuperCool is active, or after door openings. High ambient temperatures can also cause this. A low hum from the fan is also normal.
- Vibration noises: Ensure the appliance is standing firmly on the floor. Keep bottles and jars apart.
- Temperature display indicates F0 to F9: This indicates a fault; contact after-sales service.
- Power failure symbol (⚡) flashes: Indicates the highest temperature reached during a power outage. Press the alarm button (11) to cancel the display. Check food quality; do not consume spoiled or re-freeze thawed food.
- DEMO shines: Demo mode is activated; contact after-sales service.
- Outer surfaces are warm: This is normal as it's part of the refrigeration circuit to prevent condensation.
- Temperature not cold enough: Check if the door is closed properly, ensure sufficient ventilation, verify ambient temperature, avoid frequent/long door openings, check if too much fresh food was added without SuperFrost, ensure correct temperature setting, and check appliance placement relative to heat sources.
8 Decommissioning
8.1 Switching off the Appliance
To switch off the entire appliance, switch off the freezer compartment (press button 6 for approx. 2 seconds; a long beep sounds, displays go dark). The refrigerator compartment switches off automatically. The fridge compartment can be switched off separately.
8.2 Taking the Appliance out of Service
Empty the appliance, switch it off, remove the mains connector, clean it, and leave the door open to prevent odors.
8.3 Disposing of the Appliance
Dispose of the appliance professionally and appropriately according to local regulations. Do not damage the cooling circuit. For Germany, appliances can be disposed of free of charge at local recycling centers.
To decommission: Pull out the plug and cut through the connecting cable.
