General Provisions

• Consider these instructions as part of the appliance and pass them on to any other user.
• Check that the voltage on the type label matches your socket. Connect the plug only to a properly connected and grounded socket conforming to standards.

• The electric kettle is designed for heating a maximum of 1.7 litres of water. Exceeding the maximum level may cause hot water to splash out.

• CAUTION: Do not use with external timers, programmers, or other automatic switching devices, as this poses a fire risk if the appliance is covered or misplaced.
• Prevent pets, plants, and insects from contacting the appliance while in operation.

The steam sensor ensures automatic shut-off when the water reaches boiling point.

Instructions for Use

First Use

Before first use, fill the kettle with clean water to the maximum level, switch it on, and bring the water to a boil. Pour out the water and repeat this process several times (at least five times).

Operation

• Open the lid (A5) by pressing the lock button (A6).
• Fill the kettle with drinking water.
• Close the lid by snapping it shut.
• Place the filled kettle on the stand (B).
• Switch the kettle on by moving the switch (A1) to position 'I'. The control light (A2) will illuminate.
• The appliance automatically switches off after boiling.
• You can manually switch off the kettle before boiling by moving the switch (A1) to position '0'.

Important Notes

• The lid must be closed during heating; otherwise, the automatic shut-off function will not work.
• Tilting the kettle backwards, especially when full, may cause water to leak from the bottom. This does not affect safety or function.
• Risk of Scalding: Tilting the kettle with hot water can cause scalding. Avoid tilting the kettle.
• Do not leave the appliance unattended while heating water.
• Never immerse the kettle or stand in water or other liquids.
• Do not use the appliance outdoors.
• Do not place objects on the appliance.
• Use the appliance only in a stable working position, away from heat sources (stoves, ovens, grills), flammable materials (curtains), and wet surfaces (sinks).
• Do not place the appliance near or under objects that could be damaged by steam (e.g., walls, cabinets, paintings).
• Do not use in environments with explosive or flammable vapours.
• Ensure there is water in the kettle before switching it on. Do not fill the kettle while it is on the stand.
• Do not touch the outer surfaces of the kettle during operation, as they become hot and can cause burns.
• Ensure the water level is between the MIN and MAX marks before switching on.
• If the kettle is removed from the stand during boiling, it remains in the ON state. Placing it back on the stand will resume heating.
• Recommendation: If you do not use the kettle for an extended period, unplug the power cord from the wall socket.

Power Cord Handling

• If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, service technician, or a similarly qualified person to prevent hazards.
• Never use the appliance if the power cord or plug is damaged, if it malfunctions, if it has been dropped and damaged, or if it has fallen into water. Take it to an authorized service centre for safety checks.
• Never place the power cord on hot surfaces or let it hang over the edge of a table or worktop. Pulling the cord can cause the appliance to tip over or fall, leading to serious injury.
• Protect the power cord from sharp or hot objects, open flames, water, and sharp edges.

Maintenance

General Cleaning

Before any maintenance, unplug the appliance from the power supply and allow it to cool down. Clean the kettle only when cool. Do not use abrasive or aggressive cleaning agents (e.g., sharp objects, scrapers, solvents). The stainless steel casing and heating base may accumulate water scale, which is normal and not a defect.

Decalcification

In areas with hard water, regular decalcification is important for optimal performance. Too much scale can impede the kettle's function. The frequency depends on water hardness and usage.

Procedure:

• Pour about 50g of citric acid into the kettle.
• Fill the kettle halfway with water and stir.
• After dissolving, fill to 3/4 of the maximum capacity.
• Place the kettle on the stand and switch it on.
• Turn off the kettle before it reaches boiling point. Let the solution sit for about 10 minutes, then pour it out.
• Rinse the kettle thoroughly with clean water.
• Repeat the process if heavy scale remains. Clean regularly.
