(Diagram showing how to orient the suction cup mount is described.)

Step 2: Insert the Memory Card

The Rexing R316 accepts Micro SD memory cards [Class 10/UHS-1 or higher] up to 256GB. A memory card must be inserted to begin recording.

Important: Before inserting or removing a memory card, ensure the device is powered down. Gently push the memory card into the slot until you hear a click, then allow the spring release to eject it.

(Diagram showing the insertion of a Micro SD card into the dash cam is described.)

Step 3: Power on the Camera and Format the Memory Card

Power on the camera by connecting the charger to the car's cigarette lighter. This ensures the R316 records to the memory card properly and without error.

Note: Before using a new memory card, format it within the camera using the format function. Always back up important data from the memory card before formatting.

To format the memory card:

  1. Ensure the memory card is inserted and the device is powered on (connected to a power source).
  2. Press the OK button to stop recording.
  3. Press the MENU button twice to enter the System Setup Menu.
  4. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to navigate to the "Format" setting.
  5. Press the OK button to confirm the selection.

You can now disconnect the camera from power. It will shut down after 3 seconds and should begin recording automatically the next time it is powered on.

Step 4: Mount the Rear Camera (Optional)

Mount the rear camera as shown in the illustrations. Use the rear camera cable to connect it to the R316 camera.

(Diagrams showing the placement of the rear camera and cable routing within a car, indicating front, cabin, and rear positions, are described.)

Step 5: Installing the Camera onto the Windshield

Place the dash cam onto its mount. Carefully route the power cable around the windshield and tuck it under the trim for a clean installation.

Plug the Car Charger Cable into a 12V DC power outlet or the car's cigarette lighter.

Connect the car charger to the camera. The camera will automatically start recording once powered on.

View locked recordings by accessing the menu/playback function.

Video Playback

Videos can be played back on the device itself or on a computer.

On the Device: Hold the M button to toggle to Playback mode. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to navigate to the desired video. Press the OK button to play.

During playback, use the OK button for pause, the ▲ button for rewind, and the ▼ button for fast forward.

On a Computer: You can play videos by either using an SD card adapter or connecting the device directly to the computer using the USB cable.

To play using an SD card adapter: Remove the memory card from the dash cam and insert it into an SD card adapter, then place the adapter into your computer.

(Diagram showing an SD card being inserted into an adapter is described.)

Wi-Fi Connect

Step 1: Enable Wi-Fi

With your dash cam powered on, hold the UP navigation button to enable the Wi-Fi function. The dash cam's Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password will be displayed on the screen.

(Diagram showing the Wi-Fi connection status screen with SSID and password is described.)

Step 2: Connect Mobile Device

On your mobile device, navigate to your Wi-Fi settings. Tap the dash cam's Wi-Fi name when it appears and enter the password if prompted.

Note: On some mobile devices, you may need to try connecting more than once. Ensure your mobile device's screen resembles the provided examples for successful connection.

(Example screens for Samsung/Android and iPhone/iOS are described.)

Step 3: Use the Rexing Connect App

Once connected to the dash cam's Wi-Fi, open the Rexing Connect app on your mobile device. If you see a notification asking about internet connectivity, please select "Keep Trying Wi-Fi".

(Diagram showing the "Keep Trying Wi-Fi" notification is described.)

Step 4: Access Recordings

GPS Logger

You can access GPS information while playing back recordings using the GPS Video player, available for Windows and Mac at rexingusa.com.

After a GPS signal is acquired, the screen icon will change from "disconnected" to "connected". The dash cam will record the speed and location of your vehicle while driving.

Parking Monitor (Parking Surveillance Mode)

The Parking Monitor provides surveillance for your parked vehicle. When the engine is off, the hardwire kit supplies continuous power and helps protect your car battery from discharging.

We recommend watching the tutorial video for a smooth and successful installation experience.

Vibration Detection

To enable the Parking Monitor, connect the dash cam with a Rexing Type-C Smart Hardwire Kit (included).

(Diagram showing the wiring for the hardwire kit, with connections for On/Off, Always On, and Ground, is described.)

This feature allows the dash cam to automatically switch to parking mode when the vehicle's engine turns off and revert to normal recording when the engine turns on.

Gravity Sensing Record

The Gravity Sensing feature detects significant or sudden movements, such as impacts or collisions, and triggers an event recording. For Parking Mode Recording, it is suggested to set "Gravity Sensing" to High sensitivity.

Note: If you do not use the parking mode function, please change the Gravity Sensing sensitivity to low. Otherwise, videos may be easily locked and cannot be deleted by the loop recording function, potentially filling the memory card with locked videos and causing the recorder to malfunction.

Warning: Please DO NOT ENABLE the Parking Monitor function in the dash cam settings WITHOUT connecting a smart hardwire kit, as this may cause a malfunction.
