Step 1: Install the Dash Cam

Place the 3M adhesive tape on the mount. Orient the mount square correctly with the roof and hood line of the vehicle. Firmly press the mount onto the windshield. Step 2: Insert the Memory Card

The Rexing V55 accepts Micro SD memory cards of Class 10/UHS-3 or higher, up to 256GB. A memory card is required to begin recording.

Before inserting or removing a memory card, ensure the device is powered down. Gently push the memory card into the slot until it clicks, then release it; the spring mechanism will push the card out.

Step 3: Power on the Camera and Format the Memory Card

Connect the charger to the car cigarette lighter and the camera to power on. This ensures the V55 records correctly. Before using a new memory card, format it within the camera. Always back up important data from the memory card before formatting.

To format the memory card: ensure the card is inserted, power on the device. Press [OK] to stop recording if it has started. Press the [MENU] button twice to enter the System Setup Menu. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to navigate to the 'Format' setting and press [OK] to confirm.

After formatting, you can disconnect the power; the camera will shut down after 3 seconds. It will automatically start recording the next time it is powered on.

Parking Monitor (Parking Surveillance Mode)

The Parking Monitor provides surveillance for your parked vehicle. When the engine is off, the hardwire kit provides continuous power and protects your car battery from discharge.

Option 1: Vibration Detection

To enable the Parking Monitor using Vibration Detection, connect it with a Rexing Smart Hardwire Kit (sold separately).

This feature allows the dash cam to automatically switch to parking mode when the vehicle's engine turns off and return to normal recording when the engine turns on.

Gravity Sensing Record: The Gravity Sensing feature detects significant or sudden movement (like an impact or collision) and triggers an event recording. Rexing suggests setting "Gravity Sensing" to High sensitivity for Parking Mode Recording.

Diagram illustrating the wiring connections for the hardwire kit: Battery (red wire), ACC (yellow wire), and Ground (black wire).

Important Notes:

  • If you do not use the parking mode function, set the Gravity Sensing sensitivity to low. Otherwise, videos may be locked and cannot be deleted by loop recording, potentially filling the memory card and causing the recorder to malfunction.
  • DO NOT ENABLE the Parking Monitor function without connecting a smart hardwire kit, as this may cause a malfunction.

Option 2: Motion Detection

To use Motion Detection, connect with a Rexing Intelligent Hardwire Kit (sold separately). Ensure that the Parking Mode is turned off on your dash cam, otherwise, it may cause a malfunction.

Once the sensor detects motion, the intelligent hardwire kit will power up the dash cam automatically and start recording until the motion is cleared.
