App Installation

Download the X-Sense Home Security App from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. Sign up with a valid email address. Ensure the app is updated to the latest version.

Requirements: Smartphone must support iOS 11 and higher, or Android 8.0 and higher.

Before connecting:

  • Know your Wi-Fi network name and password.
  • Connect using a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network (5 GHz is not supported).
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.

Note: For faster configuration, keep your phone and devices close to the router.

  1. In the app, tap the share icon, select "Cameras," then "Cameras (SSCOA)."
  2. Ensure the device is fully charged.
  3. Open the waterproof cover at the bottom of the device. Press and hold the power button to turn it on, then press it twice. The device will emit a sound and the indicator light will flash blue, indicating pairing mode. Tap "Next."
  4. Confirm the device is beeping continuously. Tap "Heard," then "Next."
  5. Enter your Wi-Fi network name and password, then tap "Next."
  6. Scan the QR code displayed in the app using the security camera lens from 6-12 inches (15-30 cm) away. You will hear a voice prompt.

  8. Name the camera and select its location, then tap "Finished."
  9. Follow the on-screen instructions for installation and setup.
  10. Repeat for additional devices.

Note: For a stable connection, ensure your Wi-Fi network is working. If connection fails, reset the camera and try again.

Installation Instructions

Reducing False Alarms

  • Do not point the camera towards bright lights (sunlight, lamps, streetlights).
  • Avoid areas with heavy vehicular traffic.
  • Keep the device away from outlets, air vents, humidifiers, and heat transfer vents.
  • Do not install in areas with strong winds.
  • Do not install facing a mirror.
  • Keep the camera at least 3.3 ft (1 m) away from wireless devices (Wi-Fi routers, phones) to avoid interference.

Safety Tips

  • Install the camera securely using the provided screws.
  • Use the product only within its specified temperature range.
  • Keep the camera out of reach of small children.
  • This product is not a toy; children should use it under adult supervision.

Camera Installation

  1. Choose Location: Install in an area with an unobstructed view and within wireless network coverage.
  2. Choose Angle: The PIR sensor is more sensitive to horizontal movement. For optimal detection, ensure the monitored object faces horizontally. Recommended installation height is 6.9 ft (2.1 m) with a downward angle of about 15°.
  3. Secure Mounting Bracket: Mark screw holes on the wall, drill holes, insert anchors, and attach the bracket using screws.
  4. Install Camera: Align the camera's screw hole with the bracket's screw and tighten.
  5. Adjust Angle: Tilt the camera approximately 15 degrees downwards for the optimal viewing angle. Rotate clockwise to tighten the base and secure the angle.

Solar Panel Installation

Notes:

  • Find an area with maximum direct sunlight.
  • Angle the solar panel 30° upwards.
  • In the Northern Hemisphere, point the panel south; in the Southern Hemisphere, point it north.
  • Regularly clean the panel surface with a soft, damp cloth.

Mounting Steps

  1. Install Base: Drill three 6.0 mm holes into the wall, insert anchors, and attach the base using screws.
  2. Attach Locking Screw Cap & Universal Joint: Fit the locking screw cap onto the universal joint and screw the circular socket nut into the universal joint.
  3. Attach Universal Joint to Panel: Screw the universal joint into the back of the solar panel and tighten with the provided nut.
  4. Secure Locking Screw Cap: Screw the locking screw cap into the base, ensuring the universal joint is angled upward.
  5. Adjust Panel Position: Loosen the locking screw cap, rotate the sleeve rod of the universal joint to find the desired angle, then tighten the locking screw cap to secure the panel.
  6. The solar panel angle can be adjusted up to 90° up/down. For optimal sunlight exposure, angle it 30° upwards.
  7. Connect to Camera: Open the silicone plug at the bottom of the camera (without removing it entirely), and plug in the power cable from the solar panel. Ensure it is fully inserted to prevent water ingress.

Tip: After installation, check that all locking mechanisms are tightly secured.

Camera Charging

When the battery is low, the app will notify you. To charge, connect the camera to a 5V/1.5A charging adapter using a USB cable. The indicator light will be solid yellow while charging and turn green when fully charged. Full charging takes approximately 10 hours.

FAQs

  1. Why doesn't my Wi-Fi show up? Check if your home network supports 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (5 GHz is not supported) and uses WPA2-PSK security. Ensure the app has necessary permissions and is not closed during use.
  2. How do I invite family and friends? Share a QR code from the app's camera sharing feature. Friends can install the app, go to "Account," "Add Friend's Camera," and scan the QR code.
  3. How far from the router should the camera be installed? The transmission distance can reach up to 656 ft (200 m) in open air, but this varies with signal strength and environmental factors. For a weak signal, install the camera as close to the router as possible.
  4. Does the camera glow red during night vision? Yes, the built-in infrared LEDs emit a faint red light when night vision mode is active, enabling video recording in dark environments.
  5. What is the maximum video length? In the app settings, you can adjust "Motion Detection Duration" to 10, 15, or 20 seconds. With X-Sense Smart Service, an "Auto" option allows recordings up to 3 minutes, depending on motion.
  6. How to set the video shooting interval? Use the "Interval Time" feature in Motion Detection settings (1, 3, or 5 minutes). X-Sense Smart Service offers 10 or 30-second intervals. Disabling "Cool Down Time" allows continuous recording when motion is detected.
  7. What to do if the device is not working normally? Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to restart. If unresponsive, open the rubber plug at the bottom and press the reset pin in the restart hole.
