1 Warning and Caution ⚠️

2 Package ?

3 Overview ?️

Diagram shows a camera with cables extending from its rear, labeled with numbers 1 through 10 corresponding to connector types.

* 1 It is recommended to install the security cap for outdoor installation.

* 2 If the PoE switch is used to power the camera, DC12V power supply is not required.

Connecting Network Cable ?

Diagram illustrating the connection of a network cable:

  1. Loosen the nut from the main element.
  2. Run the network cable (without RJ 45 connector) through both elements. Then crimp the cable with RJ 45 connector.
  3. Connect the cable to the hermetic connector. Then tighten the nut and the main cover.

The process involves three steps: loosening a connector nut, routing the cable through components, and connecting to a hermetic connector.

4 Installation ?

SD Card Installation ?

Open the camera cover, insert a micro SD card, and then re-install the cover. Ensure the cover is installed evenly.

Diagram shows a camera with its cover removed, indicating where a micro SD card is inserted. A close-up shows the SD card slot.

Camera Installation with a Junction Box ?️

Important: Before starting, ensure the wall or ceiling is strong enough to support three times the weight of the camera and junction box.

  1. Open the mounting base and the upper cover of the junction box.
  2. Install the mounting base of the junction box onto the wall using the provided screws ?.

Diagram shows the components of a junction box: a mounting base and an upper cover, with arrows indicating they are being opened.

Camera Installation with Junction Box (cont.)

  1. Fix the mounting base of the camera to the upper cover of the junction box.
  2. Route the cables through the cable hole and connect the camera. Then install the camera onto the mounting base of the junction box.
  3. Three-axis Adjustment: Before adjustment, preview the camera's image on a monitor. Loosen the fixed screws to adjust the camera to the optimum angle.

Diagram shows the camera being mounted to the junction box's upper cover, then routed through a cable hole, and finally attached to the mounting base. A subsequent diagram shows the camera mounted and being adjusted with fixed screws for pan (360°), tilt (90°), and rotate (360°).

Configuration requirements of camera and surrounding area ⚙️

Note: Installation requirements are based on optimum conditions; license capture rate may vary with speed, lighting, position, and license plate designs.

Overhead Monitoring

  • Installation height (H): 15~20 ft.
  • Distance D (camera to captured area): 50~82 ft. (Typically 3-4 times the installation height).
  • Distance of captured area (L): 50~65 ft.

Diagram illustrates an overhead monitoring setup. A camera is mounted at height H (15-20ft) overlooking a road segment of length L (50-65ft) at a distance D (50-82ft) from the camera. A vehicle speed limit of <40MPH is indicated.

  • Depression angle: 10° to 15°.
  • Pan angle (side of road installation): 0° to 20°.
  • Pan angle (directly above middle of road): -10° to 10°.

Entrance & Exit Monitoring

  • Installation height (H): 4.2~5 ft.
  • Distance D (camera to captured area): 8.2~10 ft.
  • Distance of captured area (L): 5~6.5 ft.

Diagram illustrates an entrance/exit monitoring setup. A camera is mounted at height H (4.2-5ft) overlooking a lane segment of length L (5-6.5ft) at a distance D (8.2-10ft) from the camera.

  • Depression angle: 0° to 5°.
  • Pan angle: 5° to 20°.

The tilt angle of the license plate

After installation, log into the web client to check the license plate tilt in the video. The tilt angle should range from -5° to 5°.

Diagram shows three representations of license plates. The first two are within acceptable tilt angles (indicated by checkmarks ✔️), while the third is at an unacceptable angle (indicated by a cross ❌).

If the captured license plate does not meet requirements, adjust the pan angle of the camera.

5 Web Operation and Login ?

IP Scanner can search for the device on the local network.

Operation

  1. Ensure the camera and PC are connected to the same local network. The camera defaults to DHCP.
  2. Install and run IP Scanner from the CD.
