1. Safety Precautions

The lightning symbol with an arrow inside an equilateral triangle warns the user about uninsulated, dangerous voltage within the product enclosure, which is high enough to cause an electric shock.

The exclamation mark in an equilateral triangle indicates that the user should find important operating and maintenance instructions in the accompanying documentation.

WARNING (if applicable): Connections marked with the "⚡" symbol may pose a risk of electric shock. External wiring connected to the terminals must be performed by qualified personnel or with pre-assembled cables.

WARNING: For fire and electric shock protection, the unit must always be protected from moisture and humidity.

ATTENTION: Class I safety devices must only be connected to grounded power outlets.

ATTENTION: Ecler products have a long lifespan of more than 10 years. This product must not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste under any circumstances. Please dispose of it at the nearest recycling center for electrical and electronic waste.

1.2 Important Safety Instructions

1. Read this manual thoroughly.
2. Keep this manual in a safe place.
3. Observe all warning notices.
4. Follow all instructions.
5. Do not use the device near water.
6. Clean only with a dry cloth.
7. Ensure that all ventilation openings remain unobstructed. Install the device according to the manufacturer's instructions.
8. Do not place the device near heat sources such as radiators, ovens, or other devices that generate heat (including amplifiers).
9. Never disable the safety function of a polarized or grounded plug. A polarized plug has two pins of different widths. A grounded plug has two pins and a third grounding pin. This third pin is for your safety. If the supplied plug does not fit your outlet, have it replaced by a qualified electrician.
10. Ensure that the power cord is not crushed, twisted, or stepped on, especially near the plugs, connection sockets, and where the cable exits the device.
11. Only use accessories/spare parts specified by the manufacturer.
12. Disconnect the device from the mains during thunderstorms or when it will not be used for an extended period.
13. Service work should only be performed by qualified customer service personnel. Service is required when the device has been damaged in any way, such as damage to the power cord or plug, if liquids or foreign objects have entered the device, if the device has been exposed to rain or moisture, if it is not functioning properly, or if it has been dropped.
14. Power Supply Disconnection: Switching off the device via the POWER switch interrupts all functions and indicator lights. However, to completely disconnect the device from the power supply, the power cord must be unplugged from the mains socket. This socket must therefore always be easily accessible.
15. The device is connected to a grounded outlet via a power cord.
16. The specifications are located on the underside of the device.
17. Protect the device from dripping or splashing water and do not place any containers filled with liquids (e.g., vases) on it.

1.3 Cleaning

Always clean the device with a soft, dry cloth, or one slightly dampened with water and neutral liquid soap. Ensure that no liquid enters the device through any openings. Do not use alcohol, gasoline, solvents, or abrasive cleaners.

2. Warranty and Environment

For optimal operation and performance, it is VERY IMPORTANT to carefully read and follow the instructions in this manual before connecting the device.

For optimal device functioning, we recommend that maintenance be carried out exclusively by our authorized technical service partners.

All ECLER products have a warranty. The validity period and conditions can be found at www.ecler.com or on the warranty card included with the device.

4. Description and Features

The NIMBO-14 is a top-class 2-way passive loudspeaker with 40W RMS power in a compact design with extended low-frequency response. It is suitable for outdoor applications. Its design, reminiscent of a small cloud, is the result of Ecler's engineering expertise and was developed in collaboration with architects and interior designers.

At its acoustic center are a 4" woofer and a 1" silk dome tweeter, which act as a point sound source for uniform sound distribution.

The included HANDY wall mount allows for adjustment of the tilt and swivel angles with a single screw.

5. Connection

The connection cable that connects the amplifier outputs to the loudspeakers must be of high quality, have sufficient cross-section, and be as short as possible. This is particularly important when bridging long distances and the load is low (8Ω): up to 10m, it is recommended to use cables with a cross-section of at least 2.5mm². For longer cable runs, a cross-section of 4 to 6mm² is recommended. A simple method to determine the necessary cross-section is to use the following formula, accepting losses of approximately 4%:

Cross-section in mm² = (Length in m × Impedance of the loudspeaker in Ω) / 1000

Important: Always pay attention to polarity. The loudspeaker has an INPUT connection of the Euroblock type, as well as a STACK connection for parallel connection of other loudspeakers, also of the Euroblock type.

5.1 Connection Diagram

Diagram 1 shows the STACK and INPUT connections using Euroblock connectors. Diagram 2 shows the mounting screw for the cover.

5.1 Installation Outdoors

For outdoor installation, route the cables in a U-shape as shown in the illustration and insert them from bottom to top into the rubber grommet on the loudspeaker.

For outdoor installation, use a round tool to make holes in the grommets. Avoid straight cuts. Also, ensure you use round cables instead of flat cables.

6. Equalizer Settings

Download the Ecler Loudspeakers EQ Settings, which can be imported into the EclerNet Manager software.

7. Recommended Amplifiers

The recommended amplifier output power for the NIMBO-14 is 80W RMS.

8. Installation Location and Installation

8.1 Installation Location

Mount the loudspeaker on a stable and firm surface. There should be no obstacles between the loudspeakers and the audience. High frequencies are very directional compared to low frequencies, so any obstacle can affect the frequency response. For a very large audience, better sound propagation over distance is achieved by hanging the loudspeakers high up.

8.2 Installation

The NIMBO-14 loudspeakers are supplied with a stainless steel HANDY wall mount, easy to mount and adjust tilt angles with a single screw. Quick and easy to mount, with notches and markings that facilitate repeating the speaker orientation.
