1. Precautions

1.1 Important Note

The lightning flash symbol with an arrowhead inside an equilateral triangle warns the user of the presence of uninsulated “dangerous voltage” inside the product, sufficient to constitute a risk of electric shock to persons.

The exclamation mark in an equilateral triangle warns the user of the presence of important operating and maintenance instructions (routine maintenance) in the documents accompanying the appliance.

WARNING (if applicable): Terminals marked with the symbol <<< >> may have sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock. External wiring connected to the terminals requires installation by a trained person or the use of ready-made cables or cables.

WARNING: To prevent fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to rain or humidity.

WARNING: Class I construction appliances must be connected using a grounded plug.

1.2 Important Safety Instructions

7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding-type plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding-type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, ask an electrician to replace the obsolete outlet.
10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched, particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus.
11. Use only attachments/accessories recommended by the manufacturer.
12. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods.
13. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
14. Disconnecting from the mains: Pressing the POWER switch deactivates the functions and indicators of the amplifier, but the total disconnection of the apparatus is achieved by unplugging the power cord from the mains. Therefore, you must always have easy access to it.
15. This apparatus must be permanently connected to earth via its power cord.
16. Part of the product labeling is located on the base of the product.
17. This apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing, and no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus.

1.3 Cleaning

Clean the appliance with a clean, soft, and dry cloth or slightly damp with water and neutral liquid soap only, then wipe it with a clean cloth. Ensure that no water ever enters the appliance through its openings. Never use alcohol, benzine, solvents, or abrasive substances.

4. Description and Characteristics

The NIMBO-14 is a passive 2-way high-performance enclosure with a power output of 40 W RMS, offering extended low-frequency response in a compact format. It is suitable for outdoor applications, with a cloud-inspired design, resulting from Ecler's engineering expertise and collaboration with architects and interior designers.

It includes a 4" woofer and a 1" silk tweeter placed at the acoustic center, acting as a single point source for uniform sound dispersion.

The supplied HANDY wall mount, made of stainless steel, allows for adjustment of inclination and horizontal orientation with a single screw.

4.1 Main Characteristics

• 1" silk tweeter with neodymium magnet and ferrofluid.

• Available in white (RAL9003), black (RAL9005), gold (RAL1036, approx.), and titanium (RAL9007 MATT) color.
• Possibility of customization by RAL paint.

5. Connections

The connection cables linking the amplifier outputs to the speakers should be of good quality, with an adapted cross-section, and as short as possible. This last point is particularly important when the distance is long and the load impedance is low (8 Ω). A cross-section of at least 2.5 mm² is recommended for distances up to 10 m; 4 or 6 mm² for longer distances. The following formula gives the required cross-section, assuming 4% losses:

Section in mm² = Length in m / Speaker Impedance in Ω

! Always respect polarity. The enclosure has a Euroblock connector for the input (INPUT) and a second Euroblock connector for the link (STACK), facilitating parallel connection of the enclosure.

5.1 Connection Diagram

5.2 Outdoor Installation

For outdoor installations, guide the cables in a "U" shape as shown in the image, entering the rubber grommet of the enclosure from bottom to top.

For outdoor installations, use a round tool to pierce the grommets. Avoid straight cuts. Also, please use round profile cables rather than parallel cables.

6. Tone Correction Settings (Equalizer)

Download the Ecler Loudspeakers EQ Settings file, ready to be imported into the EclerNet Manager software.

7. Recommended Amplifier

The recommended amplifier output power for the NIMBO-14 is 80 W RMS.

8. Positioning and Installation

8.1 Positioning

Consider the following general rules:

Place the enclosure on a solid and firm surface. No obstacle should be between the enclosures and the public. High frequencies are very directional compared to low frequencies, so any obstacle hinders their response. In cases where a large audience needs to be covered, better sound propagation over a long distance will be achieved if the enclosures are hung sufficiently high.

8.2 Installation

The NIMBO-14 enclosure includes a stainless steel HANDY wall mount, easy to install, which allows for adjustment of inclination and horizontal orientation with a single screw. Quickly and easily installable, with notches and markers for reproducing the same orientation of the enclosures.

8.3 Installation Diagram
