Warranty Information

1 Year Limited Warranty

Sunbeam Products, Inc. (JCS) warrants this product to be free from defects in material and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase. JCS will, at its option, repair or replace the product or any component found to be defective. Replacement will be with a new or remanufactured product or component of equal or greater value. This warranty is exclusive and does not cover normal wear, damage from misuse, use on improper voltage, disassembly, repair or alteration by unauthorized personnel, or acts of God.

JCS is not liable for incidental or consequential damages. Any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited to the duration of this warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, which may vary by jurisdiction.

Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury:

• Read all instructions before using the heater.
• The heater is hot when in use. Avoid touching hot surfaces with bare skin. Use handles when moving. Keep combustible materials (furniture, bedding, papers, clothes, curtains) at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front, sides, and rear of the heater.
• Use extreme caution when the heater is used by or near children or invalids, or when left unattended.
• Always unplug the heater when not in use.
• Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped, or damaged. Return to an authorized service facility.
• Do not use outdoors.
• Do not use in bathrooms, laundry areas, or similar indoor locations. Never locate where it may fall into a bathtub or other water container.
• Do not run the cord under carpeting, cover with rugs, or route under furniture or appliances. Arrange the cord away from traffic areas.
• To disconnect, turn controls to OFF, then remove the plug from the outlet.
• Do not insert foreign objects into ventilation or exhaust openings, as this may cause electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
• Do not block air intakes or exhaust. Do not use on soft surfaces like a bed where openings may become blocked.
• Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
• Use only as described in this manual. Other uses may cause fire, electric shock, or injury.
• Always plug heaters directly into a wall outlet. Never use with an extension cord or power strip.
• Pull by the plug, not the cord, when unplugging.
• If the heater will not operate, see Auto Safety Shut-off instructions.
• Do not attempt to repair or adjust electrical or mechanical functions. Doing so will void your warranty. The unit contains no user-serviceable parts.
• Discontinue use if the plug or outlet is hot. Replace the outlet if hot to touch.
• The heater must not be located immediately below a socket-outlet. Do not use in the immediate surroundings of a bath, shower, or swimming pool.
• NOTE: This unit is for FLOOR USE ONLY.

Polarized Plug: This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, it is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. DO NOT attempt to modify the plug.

MAXFLOW™ Heating System

The patented MaxFlow™ Heating system uses a top-mounted fan and internal shroud for maximum heat dispersion, providing instant warmth in the immediate area and circulating heat for entire room coverage.

Operating Instructions

1. Carefully remove the heater from the box. Save the carton for off-season storage.
2. Ensure the unit is in the OFF (I/O) position before plugging it in.
3. Avoid overloading your circuit by not using other high-wattage appliances in the same outlet. This unit draws 12.5 Amps at 1500 Watts.
4. NOTE: Some vibration/noise from the grill and quartz tubes is normal and safe. It will disappear once the heating element warms up.

Mode Control

• I/O (Off): Shuts off the heater. The power light may remain lit until unplugged.
• 1 (Low Heat): Heater runs continuously at 750W.
• 2 (High Heat): Heater runs continuously at 1500W.

Thermostat Control

1. Allow the heater to operate and warm the room. Turn the Thermostat Control clockwise to the highest setting to start the heater.
2. When desired comfort level is reached, lower the thermostat setting counter-clockwise until the heater stops operating.
3. The thermostat will automatically maintain the pre-set temperature by cycling the heater ON and OFF.
4. NOTE: Cycling is normal. To prevent cycling, set the thermostat to its highest setting.

CAUTION: FRONT GRILL IS HOT WHEN UNIT IS IN OPERATION.

Cleaning / Maintenance

• Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool before cleaning.
• Clean the unit with a soft cloth moistened with a mild soap solution.
• NEVER use abrasive or flammable solvents.
• After cleaning, dry the unit completely with a cloth or towel.
• Store the heater in a cool, dry location, preferably in its original carton.
• TIP: Dust on front grills can be removed with a damp cloth.

Auto Safety Shut-Off with Instant Tip Over Protection

This heater has an advanced safety system that requires the user to reset it in case of potential overheat. When a potential overheat temperature is reached, the system automatically shuts off the heater. Operation can only resume after the user resets the unit.

Reset Instructions

• Turn Control to OFF.
• Unplug the unit and wait 30 minutes.
• Plug in and operate normally.

Tip Over Shut-Off

When the unit is accidentally knocked over, it shuts off instantly. To reset, simply place the heater in an upright position. It will operate normally.

NOTE: If the unit does not turn on when placed upright, turn the Mode Control to High (2) and it will resume operation.

Troubleshooting

If your heater fails to operate:

• The thermostat might be set too low. Turn the Thermostat Control clockwise until the heater restarts.
• Ensure the Mode Control is set to Low (1) or High (2).
• UNPLUG THE UNIT and ensure the heater is placed in an upright position.
• Check that the electrical outlet or circuit breaker is working.
• Check for obstructions. If an obstruction is found, turn the heater OFF, unplug it, carefully remove the obstruction, and follow the reset instructions.

Sistema de Calefacción MAXFLOW™

El sistema de calefacción patentado MaxFlow™ utiliza un ventilador montado en la parte superior y una cubierta interna para una máxima dispersión del calor, proporcionando calor instantáneo en el área inmediata y circulando el calor para cubrir toda la habitación.

Instrucciones de Uso

1. Saque cuidadosamente el calefactor de la caja. Guarde la caja para el almacenamiento fuera de temporada.
2. Asegúrese de que la unidad esté en la posición APAGADO (I/O) antes de enchufarla.

Control de Modo

Control de Termostato

1. Permita que el calefactor funcione y caliente la habitación. Gire el Control de Termostato en sentido horario hasta la configuración más alta para iniciar el calefactor.
2. Cuando se alcance el nivel de confort deseado, baje la configuración del termostato en sentido antihorario hasta que el calefactor deje de funcionar.
3. El termostato mantendrá automáticamente la temperatura preestablecida encendiendo y apagando el calefactor.
4. NOTA: El ciclo de encendido/apagado es normal. Para evitar el ciclo, ajuste el termostato a su configuración más alta.

PRECAUCIÓN: LA REJILLA FRONTAL ESTÁ CALIENTE CUANDO LA UNIDAD ESTÁ EN FUNCIONAMIENTO.

Limpieza / Mantenimiento (Español)

• Siempre desenchufe el calefactor y déjelo enfriar antes de limpiarlo.
• Limpie la unidad con un paño suave humedecido en una solución de jabón suave.
• NUNCA use solventes abrasivos o inflamables.
• Después de limpiar, seque completamente la unidad con un paño o toalla.
• Guarde el calefactor en un lugar fresco y seco, preferiblemente en su caja original.
• CONSEJO: El polvo en las rejillas frontales se puede eliminar con un paño húmedo.

Apagado Automático de Seguridad con Protección Instantánea contra Vuelcos (Español)

Este calefactor cuenta con un sistema de seguridad avanzado que requiere que el usuario lo reinicie en caso de sobrecalentamiento potencial. Cuando se alcanza una temperatura de sobrecalentamiento potencial, el sistema apaga automáticamente el calefactor. La operación solo puede reanudarse después de que el usuario reinicie la unidad.

Instrucciones de Reinicio

• Gire el Control a APAGADO.
• Desenchufe la unidad y espere 30 minutos.
• Enchufe y opere normalmente.

Apagado por Vuelco

Cuando la unidad se vuelca accidentalmente, se apaga instantáneamente. Para restablecerla, simplemente coloque el calefactor en posición vertical. Funcionará normalmente.

NOTA: Si la unidad no se enciende al colocarla en posición vertical, gire el Control de Modo a Alto (2) y reanudará la operación.

Solución de Problemas (Español)

Si su calefactor no funciona:

• El termostato podría estar ajustado demasiado bajo. Gire el Control de Termostato en sentido horario hasta que el calefactor se reinicie.
• Asegúrese de que el Control de Modo esté en la posición Bajo (1) o Alto (2).
• DESENCHUFE LA UNIDAD y asegúrese de que el calefactor esté en posición vertical.
• Verifique que el tomacorriente o el interruptor automático funcionen correctamente.
• Verifique si hay obstrucciones. Si encuentra una obstrucción, apague el calefactor, desenchúfelo, retire cuidadosamente la obstrucción y siga las instrucciones de reinicio.
