Curve Functions
The DT20 DC Meter provides advanced curve visualization capabilities for detailed analysis.
Charging and Discharging Curve and Peak Recording
The device offers a curve interface that simplifies querying voltage and current during battery power supply discharge processes. It displays curves along with peak and full-range peak recorded values, providing a clearer understanding of operating state wave amplitudes.
Voltage Current Curve Description
The voltage-current curve display includes controls for Pause/Run, and shows:
- Maximum voltage axis range.
- Maximum current axis range.
- Voltage curve (typically green) and Current curve (typically yellow).
- Voltage represented by each grid on the vertical axis.
- Current represented by each grid on the vertical axis.
- Time represented by each grid on the horizontal axis.
- Minimum values for voltage and current axes.
- Maximum values of recorded parameters (Cur Rec Max, All Rec Max).
Alarm Functions
The DT20 DC Meter features a double alarm system (sound and display) for critical conditions.
Double Alarm for Overvoltage, Lowvoltage, Overpower
By long-pressing the M/OK button, users can enter the backend system to set overvoltage, low-voltage, and overpower thresholds for the tested battery. The device then monitors these parameters in real-time. Upon reaching a set threshold, it displays alarm content and emits a beeping sound. This dual reminder helps users manage battery usage, especially when voltage is low, prompting timely charging to prevent depletion.
Specific alarm interfaces are available for:
- Over-voltage alarm interface: Displays voltage thresholds (e.g., <0120.05V).
- Low-voltage alarm interface: Displays voltage thresholds (e.g., >0002.50V).
- Over-power alarm interface: Displays power thresholds (e.g., <1000.50W).
Users can access background settings to change these thresholds.
Battery Level Percentage Color Change Display
The meter allows users to set high and low thresholds for real-time detection of charging and discharging control output. The percentage is calculated based on user-defined thresholds, and the battery symbol changes color to indicate the level:
- Green: Greater than 30%
- Yellow: Less than 30%
- Red: Less than 10%
When the display is within the 1% to 100% range, the power panel's red light illuminates, and the relay output provides a high level to connect the current path. If the value exceeds this range (e.g., over 100% or below 1%), the red light turns off, and the relay outputs a low level to disconnect the current path. This ensures safe charging and discharging protection, preventing battery damage from over- or under-charging. The system can also be used for over-voltage and low-voltage disconnection protection.
Connection Method
Accurate measurements are achieved using 4-wire wiring. The DT20 DC Meter is compatible with various battery types, including lead-acid, ternary lithium, and lithium iron phosphate, as long as they are within the 0-420V range.
Wiring Diagram Overview:
- Battery Connections: B+ and B- terminals for the battery.
- Voltage Sampling: Uses ordinary thin wires connected to the battery terminals.
- Power Supply: Requires a 5V USB power supply connected to the instrument power supply port.
- Relay Interface: For optional relay connection (5V Relay interface).
- Current Sampling: A bidirectional current sampler must be connected in series to the negative circuit of the battery. The sampler's input connects to the battery's negative electrode (B-), and the output connects to the meter's negative input (P-/C-).
- USB-HID Data Communication: Connects to a PC for data export.
- WiFi Module: Optional module for wireless connectivity.
Wiring Principle: Ensure all current flows through the bidirectional current sampler.
Warning: Use wires thick enough to handle the load's required current for optimal performance.
Adding Relays for Power-Off Function
Relay circuits can be added to the DT20 DC Meter to enable automatic power-off protection. This is useful during battery testing when fully charged or discharged, and for overvoltage, low-voltage, and power outage protection.
Connection Diagram: The diagram shows the battery connected to the meter, with a relay and a load.
Requirements:
- A relay (e.g., SONGLE SLA-05VDC-SL-A 5V 30A Relay) is required (additional purchase).
- The relay must be powered independently by 5V.
- The independent power supply for the relay cannot use the same circuit as the tested power supply.
- If the battery is charged, the input connects to a charger, and the output connects to a fully charged battery. The relay will automatically disconnect to protect against the risk of overcharging.
Note: It is recommended to purchase the relay along with DT20 series products.
