Connecting Your Mobile Phone via Bluetooth to the Mercedes-Benz Hands-Free System
This document provides instructions on how to connect your mobile phone to the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system using the Bluetooth pairing feature. The guide specifically details the process for a Huawei P9 EVA-AL00.
Prerequisites
For a successful connection, ensure that Bluetooth® is turned on in your mobile phone. It is also recommended to consult your mobile phone's operating and pairing instructions.
Step 1: Prepare Your Huawei P9 EVA-AL00
Perform the following steps on your Huawei P9 EVA-AL00:
- From the main screen, tap the "Applications" button.
- Locate and tap "Settings".
- Select the "Bluetooth" option.
- Turn on Bluetooth®.
- If your device is not already visible to nearby devices, make it visible by selecting its name at the top of the screen or by choosing "Make phone visible".
Step 2: Access the Telephone Screen
On the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system, press the “TEL” key on the center console or select "Phone."
Step 3: Connect Device
Select the "Connect Device" application, typically located in the lower left corner of the screen.
Step 4: Search for Phones
Select "Search for phones" on the system display.
Step 5: Start Search
Select "Start search". Ensure your phone is on, Bluetooth is activated, and your device is visible. For more information, refer to your phone's operating instructions or visit www.mercedes-benz.com/connect.
Step 6: System Search
The system will now search for compatible Bluetooth® phones. This process may vary in duration depending on the number of devices found.
Step 7: Select Your Phone
Once the search is complete, select your mobile phone from the list (e.g., "My Phone").
Step 8: Verify Passcode
The pairing process will generate a 6-digit passcode. Verify that this passcode matches the one displayed on your Huawei P9 EVA-AL00.
Step 9: Confirm Pairing on Phone
On your Huawei P9 EVA-AL00, a "Bluetooth Pairing request" pop-up will appear, asking to confirm the passkey for pairing with "MB Bluetooth". Select "Pair" or "OK" if the codes match.
Step 10: Authorization
After the passcode is verified on both devices, the phone will begin to be authorized.
Step 11: Grant Permissions
If authorization is successful, the Bluetooth screen will show "MB Bluetooth" and "Connected".
- You may receive a "Contacts/phonebook request: MB Bluetooth would like to access your contacts and call history." Select "OK" or "Give access to MB Bluetooth?".
- You may also receive a "MAP/message access request: MB Bluetooth would like to access your messages." Select "OK".
Step 12: Connection Confirmation
Once your mobile phone is successfully connected via Bluetooth® to the Mercedes-Benz hands-free system, the name of your mobile phone (e.g., "My Phone") will be displayed in the lower left corner of the system screen.
