Heatmiser Slimline-RF V3 Wireless Thermostat Manual

This document provides comprehensive instructions for the Heatmiser Slimline-RF V3 wireless thermostat.

What is a Programmable Room Thermostat?

A programmable room thermostat functions as both a programmer and a room thermostat. The programmer allows setting "On" and "Setback" periods to suit your lifestyle. The room thermostat senses air temperature, switching heating on when the temperature drops below the set point and off once the set temperature is reached.

It enables users to select desired heating times and target temperatures, allowing for different settings throughout the day and week to meet specific needs. Setting a higher temperature does not speed up room heating; this depends on the heating system's design and size. Similarly, reducing the temperature setting does not affect how quickly the room cools down. Setting a lower temperature results in the room being controlled at a lower temperature, saving energy.

To effectively use the thermostat, identify comfortable temperature settings for different times and allow the device to manage the system.

Installation Procedure

Do:

Don't:

Thermostats require free airflow to sense temperature accurately and should not be covered by curtains or blocked by furniture. Nearby heat sources like electric fires, televisions, or lamps can also interfere with proper operation.

This wireless thermostat is designed for surface mounting.

Installation Steps:

  1. Carefully separate the front half of the thermostat from the back plate using a small flat head terminal driver inserted into the slots on the bottom face.
  2. Mark two hole positions on the wall using the backplate as a template. Drill at these positions and insert wall plugs.
  3. Securely screw the thermostat back plate to the wall.
  4. Clip the front of the thermostat back onto the back plate.

Installing the Batteries

Two AAA batteries are supplied with the thermostat. To access the battery holder, push and release the compartment door located on the bottom face of the thermostat. The thermostat will indicate when batteries need replacement via an on-screen battery icon.

Important: Do NOT use rechargeable batteries with this product.

Description of image: The thermostat with its battery compartment open, showing two AAA batteries.

Insert batteries into the holder, ensuring correct polarity (+ / -). Push the battery holder back into the thermostat until it is secured.

Replacing the Batteries

Batteries have a limited lifespan and require occasional replacement for correct thermostat operation. The thermostat will display a battery icon [?] on screen when replacement is needed.

Note: Batteries must be replaced within 1 minute of removal to retain current clock and comfort level settings.
