Model Part Diagram
The air purifier unit features a front panel, handle, air outlet vent, and power plug. The control panel is located on the front. Components include a Pre-Filter, Activated Carbon Filter, True HEPA Filter, and a Remote Control. The package contents typically include the Unit, Remote Control, and User Manual. For refurbished units, expect 4 new Carbon Filters and 1 True HEPA Filter.
Where to Use
For optimal performance and to prevent malfunction due to electromagnetic interference, place the unit 12-18 inches away from TVs, radios, and other electronics. Position the air purifier indoors, away from direct sunlight. Ensure it is placed on hard, flat surfaces to avoid abnormal noise and vibrations. Allow at least 4 inches of space from walls for maximum airflow.
4-Stage Air Purification
The Winix 6300-2 utilizes a four-stage purification process:
- Pre-Filter: Designed to capture larger airborne particles found indoors.
- Activated Carbon Filter: Reduces Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and household odors from cooking, pets, and smoke.
- True HEPA Filter: Captures 99.97% of airborne allergens, including pollen, mold spores, dust, pet dander, microbes, and smoke, for particles as small as 0.3 microns.
- PlasmaWave®: Creates hydroxyls that can help reduce the presence of airborne bacteria and viruses. (Based on laboratory tests).
Control Panel
The control panel features various indicators and buttons:
- 01. Auto Indicator: Shows if Auto Mode is enabled.
- 02. Sleep Indicator: Shows if Sleep Mode is enabled.
- 03. PlasmaWave® Indicator: Shows if PlasmaWave® is enabled.
- 04. Fan Speed Indicator: Displays the current fan speed.
- 05. Timer Indicator: Lights up to show the set operation time.
- 06. Check Filter Indicator: Illuminates when it's time to replace the filter.
- 07. Light Sensor: Detects ambient light levels.
- 08. Odor Sensor: Detects odor levels to adjust fan speed in Auto Mode.
- 09. Power Button: Turns the unit on or off. The Air Quality Indicator cycles through colors during the first 30 seconds, and the Smart Sensor takes about 4 minutes to gauge air quality.
- 10. Mode Button: Cycles through Auto and Sleep modes. Auto Mode automatically adjusts fan speed based on air quality. Sleep Mode disables the Air Quality Indicator LED and sets the fan speed to quiet.
- 11. PlasmaWave® Button: Enables or disables the PlasmaWave® feature. A chirping or buzzing sound may be normal when large particles pass through PlasmaWave®.
- 12. Air Quality Indicator: A color-coded LED light indicating one of three air quality levels (Blue, Amber, Red).
- 13. Fan Speed Button: Allows manual selection of fan speeds (Low, Medium, High, Turbo).
- 14. Timer Button: Sets the desired operation time (1hr, 4hr, 8hr, or no timer).
- 15. Reset Button: Press and hold for 5 seconds after filter replacement to reset the filter indicator.
Remote Control
The remote control operates within a 20-foot radius and includes buttons for Power (A), Auto (B), Fan Speed (C), and Turbo (D). To replace the battery (CR2025 lithium button cell): flip the remote, open the battery tray by pinching and pulling, insert the new battery ensuring correct polarity, and close the tray until it clicks. ⚠️ WARNING: Incorrect battery usage may cause leakage or damage. Remove the battery if the remote is not used for extended periods. This product contains a lithium button/coin cell battery. Cleaning Care
Cleaning the Filters:
Use a vacuum cleaner or soft brush to clean the Pre-Filter. If excessively soiled, rinse in room temperature water. Do not use detergent or soap. Allow the filter to dry completely (24 hours or more) before use. Intervals for cleaning may vary based on air quality. NOTICE: Do not use benzene, alcohol, or other volatile fluids. Do not use hot water over 104°F (40°C).
Cleaning the Exterior & Interior:
Always unplug the power cord first and wait for the unit to cool down. Open the front panel and clean the interior with a vacuum cleaner (a hand vacuum or hose attachment is recommended). Dampen a cloth with room temperature water and wipe down the interior and exterior. Wipe the unit with a clean, dry cloth, ensuring no moisture remains before plugging it back in. For optimal performance, clean every 1-2 months. NOTICE: Never disassemble, repair, or modify the unit yourself. Do not use flammable sprays or liquid detergents. Do not allow children to clean or maintain the unit.
Safety and Cautions
Before operating, carefully read and follow all safety cautions. Ensure filters are inserted before running the unit, as operating without them can shorten its lifespan and cause electric shock or injury. Do not insert foreign objects into the vents. Do not touch interior parts with wet hands, as high voltage can cause electric shock. Ensure intake and outlet vents are not blocked to prevent internal temperature increases, product failure, and deformation. Do not use the unit as a step stool or place heavy objects on it, as this may cause personal injury or product failure.
⚠️ WARNING: Follow instructions to reduce the risk of serious injury or death and unit damage. If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified technician. Do not unplug or move the unit while in operation. Do not plug additional appliances into the same outlet. Do not handle the plug with wet hands. Unplug the unit when not in use for extended periods. Do not place near heating elements, in areas with mist or fumes from industrial oil, or large quantities of metallic dust. Avoid cord damage from bending, pulling, twisting, bundling, pinching, or placing heavy objects on it. Do not install in vehicles. Do not place in areas with excessive noxious gases or near flammable materials. Do not have the unit facing into wind or drafts. Do not place below any electrical outlet.
