Winix America support FAQ
Common questions about manuals, registration, and support for this brand.
-
How do I reset the filter life on my Winix air purifier?
After replacing your True HEPA Filter, put the Pre-Filter back in and close the Front Panel. While the unit is powered on, use a thin object like a paper clip to hold the Filter Reset Button for at least 5 seconds until you hear a beep. The indicator will then turn off.
-
Can I wash and reuse Winix True HEPA or Carbon filters?
No, you should not wash and reuse the True HEPA Filter or Activated Carbon Filter, as moisture ruins their efficiency. However, the outermost Pre-Filter can be cleaned with a vacuum or rinsed in room temperature water and dried completely.
-
What does the PlasmaWave button do?
It enables or disables the proprietary PlasmaWave technology. When the feature is active, you may hear a slight chirping or buzzing sound from particles passing through the filter array. This is completely normal and does not mean the product is failing.
-
How should I clean the interior of my Winix unit?
Always unplug the unit first. Open the front panel and use a vacuum cleaner (preferably with a hose attachment) to extract dust from the interior. You can also wipe down the inside with a cloth dampened with room-temperature water. Ensure no moisture remains before plugging it back in.
