Setup Process

- Downloading the Mobile Apps
Step 1: Installing batteries in the remote control unit
Open the battery compartment cover on the remote control. Insert two R03/AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity. Replace the cover.
Step 2: Connecting the receiver
Part 1: Connect the power cord
Place the receiver near your TV. Connect the supplied power cord to the receiver and then to a household power outlet (AC 120 V, 60 Hz).
Part 2: Connect the receiver to your home network
Wired LAN
Connect an Ethernet cable (not included) between your receiver's LAN port and your network router.
Wireless LAN
When connecting to wireless LAN (Wi-Fi), follow the instructions in "Connecting the external antennas for Bluetooth / Wireless connectivity" and connect the antennas.
Step 3: Connect the receiver to your TV with an HDMI cable
Connect the receiver to your TV using an HDMI cable. Connect the HDMI cable from the TV's HDMI OUT (ARC) port to the receiver's HDMI IN (ARC) port.
ARC (Audio Return Channel)
If your TV supports ARC, your TV can send audio back to the AV receiver when you are using your TV's built-in video sources (TV tuner, Smart TV streaming services, etc.). ARC requires that you enable HDMI CEC on your TV. Please refer to your TV's Owner's Manual for instructions on how to set up HDMI CEC. Note that some TV manufacturers use other names for the HDMI CEC function.
Step 4: Turn on the TV
Turn on your TV using its remote control.
Step 5: Select the appropriate HDMI input on your TV
On your TV, select the appropriate HDMI input that the receiver is connected to, using the 'INPUT' or 'TV/VIDEO' button on your TV remote control.
Step 6: Turn on the receiver
Press the power button [power-symbol] on the receiver to turn it on.
Step 7: Verify the connection
Verify that you can see the 'Setup Assistant' screen on your TV, prompting you to select a language (English, Français, Español).
If this screen is not displayed, please go back and retry the steps in the recommended sequence.
Step 3 (Continued): Following the On-Screen Setup Assistant
The Setup Assistant will guide you through connecting and configuring your speakers and components to your Marantz receiver. Use the remote control and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 4 (Continued): Downloading the Mobile Apps
Download both the "HEOS" App and the "Marantz 2016 AVR Remote" App for the full home entertainment experience. The HEOS App is required to access online music through your AVR.
