Important Safety Warnings

WARNING: Failure to follow these warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or death.

• Always read and follow all instructions before assembly and use.
• Inspect the BassiNest® swivel sleeper before each use for damaged hardware, loose or missing components, or sharp edges.
• Discontinue use when the infant shows signs of being able to pull up, rollover, push up, sit up unassisted, or move out of the sleep area.
• Never leave a child unattended.
• This product is not intended for resale or return to a retailer.

Fall Hazard

Do not use when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees or has reached 20 pounds (9 kg). Always ensure the bassinet is securely locked on the base/stand.

Suffocation Hazard

• Use only the pad provided by the manufacturer. Never add pillows, comforters, or other mattresses.
• Never place additional objects in the BassiNest swivel sleeper.
• Always ensure the pad is positioned correctly, with no gaps between the pad and mesh sides.
• Pediatricians recommend infants sleep on their backs to reduce the risk of SIDS.
• Use only the provided sheet or one specifically designed for the bassinet mattress.
• Never use plastic bags or plastic film as a mattress cover, as they can cause suffocation.
• Discard all plastic packing materials immediately after opening.
• Product is designed and approved for use with one baby only.

Strangulation Hazard

• Do not place items with a string around a child's neck.
• Do not suspend strings over a bassinet/crib/cradle or attach strings to toys.
• Do not place the BassiNest swivel sleeper near windows or patio doors where cords from blinds or drapes can strangle an infant.

Injury Hazard

• Never place more than one infant in the BassiNest swivel sleeper.
• Never carry the BassiNest swivel sleeper with an infant in it.
• Never use the BassiNest swivel sleeper when the infant sleep area is separated from its base.
• Do not allow young children to play unsupervised near the BassiNest swivel sleeper.
• Always remove the child from the BassiNest swivel sleeper before adjusting height.
• Always ensure the sleeping area is secure to its base before use.
• Place the BassiNest swivel sleeper on a horizontal floor.
• Not for use in an automobile.
• Be aware of the risk of open fires and other sources of strong heat.
• Do not place anything in the BassiNest swivel sleeper to elevate the mattress.
• The top of this product is intended for use with the provided base or BassiNest portable stand only.

Assembly Instructions

Tools required: #2 Phillips screwdriver (not included). Batteries required: 3 AA (not included, except for Essentia series).

1. Remove contents from carton and discard packaging. Remove wooden board affixed to the bottom of the base post using a #2 Phillips screwdriver.
2. Attach legs to the base with the provided large screws.
3. Assemble the sleep area by opening top flaps and side panels. Attach railing poles to sidewall openings, ensuring they click into place. Repeat for all railing connections.
4. Slide the bottom of the sidewall into the opening in the base. Repeat on the other side. Ensure sidewalls click and are securely locked.
5. Fold the fabric cover over the sidewall and secure with the fastener strip. Fold fabric flaps over the top and bottom of the sidewall and attach with fastener tabs.
6. Install batteries in the Soothing Center (if applicable, not on Essentia models).
7. Attach the Soothing Center to the bottom of the sleep surface using the small screws provided.
8. Attach the sleep area to the base. Check that no red stripe is visible on the post to confirm correct assembly.
9. Add Mattress: Wash sheet before use. Use only the manufacturer-provided mattress and sheet. Do not machine wash the mattress; wipe clean with a damp cloth.
10. Add Storage Caddy: Attach the storage caddy to the back sidewall using the two hooks. Do not attach to the front retractable sidewall. Do not store objects weighing more than 5 lbs (2.2 kg) in the storage caddy. (Not included with Essentia or Premiere models).

Use Instructions

Adjusting Height

Place the BassiNest next to the bed with two legs parallel to the bed side and one leg under the bed. Loosen the adjustment knob to adjust height. Fully tighten the knob once the desired height is achieved. Never adjust height with the baby in the bed.

Retractable Wall Operation

• To use retractable wall: Gently push down on the front railing. The wall will automatically return to its upright position when pressure is removed.
• To lock retractable wall: Slide locking mechanisms into sidewall notches until the front wall is immobilized.
• To remove bed from base: Push and hold the release button while lifting to remove the sleep area from the post. Never remove the sleep area from the base with your baby in it.

Moving the BassiNest

DO NOT attempt to move the BassiNest with your baby inside. First, remove the bed from the base or post. Move the base to the desired location and reattach the bed. Do not try to move the BassiNest by lifting, pulling, or pushing the bed while it is attached to the base or post.

Soothing Center Operation (Not available on Essentia models)

Requires three (3) AA batteries.

• Nightlight: Press the bulb button to activate. Press again for increased brightness. Press a third time to turn off. Auto shut-off after 30 minutes.
• Music/Sounds: Press the volume button to activate. Cycle through sound options by pressing the music button. Increase volume by pressing the volume button again. Press a third time to shut off sound/music. Auto shut-off after 30 minutes.
• Back-to-bed reminder: Press the button to activate. A tone and blinking light indicate activation. At 29 minutes, a tone sounds and the light blinks faster. Auto shut-off after 30 minutes. Press the button again to manually shut off.
• Vibration: Press the vibration button to activate. Press again for higher vibration. Press a third time to shut off. Auto shut-off after 30 minutes.
• Floor Light: Press the bulb button to activate. Press again to turn off.

Care and Maintenance

• Wash the sheet before use. Machine wash in warm water with like colors. Do not use bleach. Tumble dry on low.
• Clean the BassiNest base, sleep area, and mattress regularly with a mild cleaning solution and a damp cloth. Do not use bleach. Do not machine wash the mattress. Rinse with water to remove residue. Allow to dry completely.
• When not in use, clean as instructed and store in a clean, dry location.
• Do not attempt to disassemble the sleep surface board or lining cover.
• For large spills, use a vinegar and water mixture to clean. Allow to air dry.
• Do not submerge the sleep surface board or walls in water.

Battery Safety Information (Batteries Not Included)

• Do not mix old and new batteries or different types (Alkaline, carbon zinc, rechargeable).
• Insert batteries as indicated.
• Remove batteries during long periods of non-use. Always remove exhausted batteries.
• Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of in fire.
• Never short-circuit battery terminals.
• Use only recommended battery types.
• Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
• Remove rechargeable batteries before charging.
• Rechargeable batteries should only be charged under adult supervision.
