Introduction
Thank you for purchasing the Muse M-1380 DBT. Please read these instructions carefully before operating the unit to ensure proper use and performance.
Unpacking the Unit
When unpacking your new tower speaker, ensure all accessories and information papers are present:
- Tower speaker
- Remote control
- Auxiliary cable
- 75 Ohm antenna cable
- Installation accessories: Wooden base, 4x Washers, 4x Assembly screws
To use the speaker, first assemble the wooden base to the main body using the provided screws and washers. Then, insert the 75 Ohm antenna cable into the external aerial socket.
Location of Controls
The main unit features the following controls and indicators:
- 1. TFT display: Shows information and settings.
- 2. Tweeters: High-frequency speakers.
- 3. Main speakers: Mid-range speakers.
- 4. Subwoofer: Low-frequency speaker.
- 5. / SOURCE: Power On/Off button; Selects function mode (DAB+, FM, Bluetooth, Disc, USB, AUX, RCA).
- 6. / : Bluetooth pairing function; Play/Pause.
- 7. / MENU: Stop playback; Accesses the main settings menu; Returns to the previous step; Reviews radio station information.
- 8. PRESET/SCAN: Accesses preset stations; Initiates automatic station scan.
- 9. , : Skip track / Search / Tuning.
- 10. SELECT +/-: Adjusts volume; Navigates settings up/down; Confirms selection/settings.
- 11. Remote sensor: Infrared receiver for the remote control.
- 12. : Opens/closes the disc tray; Activates Stereo Pairing function.
- 13. CD compartment: Slot for CD playback.
- 14. USB port for charging: Provides power output for charging devices.
- 15. AUX IN jack (3.5mm): Auxiliary audio input.
- 16. USB port for MP3 playback: For playing music files from a USB drive.
- 17. NFC Tag: For NFC pairing.
- 18. External aerial socket: Connection for the supplied antenna.
- 19. AUDIO IN L/R RCA jacks: Analog audio inputs.
- 20. AC Power Cord: Connects the unit to mains power.
- 21. Cradle for tablet or smartphone: A stand to hold your device.
Cradle for Tablet or Smartphone: Lift the cradle cover and place your tablet or smartphone on it.
Remote Control
The remote control provides access to all unit functions:
- R1. : Power On/Off.
- R2. : Mute/Unmute sound.
- R3. SOURCE: Selects function mode (DAB+, FM, Bluetooth, Disc, USB, AUX, RCA).
- R4. / : Adjusts volume.
- R5. EQ button: Selects sound effects (Default, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Pop).
- R6. LD button: Toggles Loudness On/Off.
- R7. DIM. button: Sets display backlight timeout and brightness level.
- R8. AUDIO button: Sets Bass/Treble values.
- R9. ALM./ SLEEP button: Sets alarm time and sleep timer.
- R10. / MENU: Stops playback; Accesses setting menu; Returns to previous step.
- R11. button: Opens/closes disc tray; Activates Stereo Pairing.
- R12. / : Navigates menus/folders up/down.
- R13. , : Skips tracks, searches, or tunes radio stations.
- R14. / PAIRING: Play/Pause; Initiates Bluetooth pairing.
- R15. REP. button: Repeats playback (track, folder, or all).
- R16. RAND./ INFO. button: Toggles random playback; Displays radio station information.
- R17. SCAN/ PROG.: Presets stations, auto scans, or programs playback sequences.
- R18. 1-10, +10 buttons: Numeric keypad for direct track selection or preset recall.
Installing Batteries: Insert 2 AAA/UM4 batteries into the remote control, observing polarity (+/-). Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
Power Supply
The unit operates on AC 100-240V ~ 50/60Hz. Connect the power cord to a standard AC wall outlet.
Energy Saving Note: The unit automatically switches to Standby mode after 15 minutes of inactivity or very low volume after playback ends.
Turning Unit On/Off
- Press the button to turn the unit on.
- Long press the button on the unit or briefly press the button on the remote control to turn the unit off.
Selecting Function
When the unit is on, repeatedly press the SOURCE button to select the desired mode: DAB+, FM, Bluetooth, Disc, USB, AUX, or RCA.
Adjusting Volume
Rotate the SELECT +/- knob on the unit or press the / buttons on the remote control to adjust the volume level.
Audio Controls
- Loudness: Press the LD button on the remote to enter loudness setting mode. Use / to select ON/OFF and confirm with .
- Bass/Treble: Press the AUDIO button to set Bass. Use / to adjust the value and confirm with . Treble will blink after Bass is set; use / to adjust and confirm with .
- Muting: Press the button to mute/unmute the sound.
- EQ (Equalizer): Press the EQ button to enter EQ mode. Use / to select sound effects (Default, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Pop) and confirm with .
Setting the Time and Date
- In standby mode, press and hold MENU to access the main menu.
- Rotate SELECT to select "Time setup", then press SELECT to enter the time setting menu.
- Rotate SELECT to select "Set time", then press SELECT to confirm.
- Use SELECT to set the date (DD/MM/YYYY) and time (HH:MM). Rotate SELECT to adjust, then press SELECT to confirm.
- Rotate SELECT to select "Clock format", then press SELECT to confirm.
- Rotate SELECT to choose between "24" or "12" hour format, then press SELECT to confirm.
Setting the Alarm and Alarm Mode
In standby mode, press the ALM. button on the remote to access alarm setting mode. Rotate SELECT to select options and adjust settings, then press SELECT to confirm.
Select "Alarm 1" or "Alarm 2", then press SELECT to confirm.
- Enable: Off, Daily, Once, Weekdays, Weekends.
- Time: Sets the alarm time.
- Mode: Sets the wake-up source (DAB, FM, or Buzzer).
- Preset: Selects a radio station (only available for DAB/FM wake-up sources).
- Volume: Sets the alarm volume.
- Save: Confirms all settings. The alarm indicator will be displayed and blink when the alarm time is reached.
Note: In 12-hour format, ensure the AM/PM indicator is set correctly.
Stopping the Alarm
- Alarm Repetition (Snooze): Press any button except and to enter snooze mode. The display shows "Snooze" and remaining time. Repeatedly press SELECT or on the remote to set snooze duration (04:59 < 09:59 < 14:59 < 29:59). Alarm and snooze indicators will blink.
- Alarm Stop: Press to stop the alarm.
- Alarm Cancellation: Press ALM., select Alarm 1 or 2, then navigate to
and select to cancel the alarm.
Sleep Function (Automatic Shut-off)
When the unit is ON, long press the SLEEP button on the remote to enter sleep setting mode. Use / to select listening time (15-30-45-60-90-120 minutes) and confirm with . The sleep icon and remaining time will display. The unit will automatically turn off. To cancel, select "Sleep off" and confirm.
Display Dimmer
Press the DIM. button on the remote to enter display backlight settings. Use / to select your desired option and confirm with .
- Timeout: Always On > 10s > 20s > 30s > 45s > 60s > 90s > 120s > 180s.
- Level: Selects display brightness from level 1 to 8.
Listening to DAB/DAB+ Radio
Connect the external antenna (supplied) to the external aerial socket on the back of the unit before using DAB function.
When the unit is ON, repeatedly press SOURCE to select DAB mode. The dab icon will display.
The first time you use the radio, or if the station list is empty, the unit automatically performs a full scan for available stations. The display will show "Scanning......" with a progress bar and the number of stations found.
You may need to perform a manual scan to update the station list if:
- New stations become available.
- Stations close or are no longer received (indicated by a '?' in the list).
- Initial scan reception was poor.
- Some stations have poor reception causing audio interruptions.
To perform a full scan, press and hold MENU, rotate SELECT to
After scanning, the radio will play the last selected or first station. Select a station with / and press SELECT to confirm.
Note: If no broadcasts are found, "No station found" will appear. For better reception, extend the antenna or rescan in a different location. Sound is muted during search. Press to return to the previous step in menus.
Listening to FM Radio
When the unit is ON, repeatedly press SOURCE to select FM mode. The FM icon and frequency will display.
Tune to a desired station using / .
Automatic Search
Long press / to automatically locate strong stations.
Automatic Storage
Press and hold SCAN for a few seconds. The unit automatically saves the first 20 FM stations. If a preset channel is already in use, it will be overwritten.
Note: Extend the antenna for better reception.
Preset Stations
This unit can store 20 FM and 20 DAB/DAB+ stations.
- Repeatedly press SOURCE to select FM or DAB mode.
- In FM mode, tune to a desired station with / . In DAB mode, select a station with / , then press SELECT to confirm.
- Press PRESET/SCAN or SCAN/PROG. to enter preset store mode.
- Rotate SELECT or use / to select a preset channel, then press and hold PRESET or SCAN/PROG. to confirm.
Note: "Empty" displays if a station is not allocated. FM frequency or DAB station name displays if allocated.
Quick Preset
Use the number buttons (1-10, +10) for quick preset access. Select a station, then press and hold the number button to store it.
Example: To save the 14th preset station, press +10, then hold 4 (10+4=14).
Listening to Preset Stations
Press PRESET or SCAN/PROG. once to display the preset list. Use SELECT or / to select a station and press SELECT to confirm.
Use the number buttons (1-10, +10) on the remote to recall preset stations.
Bluetooth Function
The Bluetooth® word mark and logos are registered trademarks owned by Bluetooth SIG, Inc. and any use of such marks by New One S.A.S is under license.
Pairing a Bluetooth Device
- When the unit is on, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the Bluetooth icon . The display will show "Connecting..." to indicate pairing mode.
- On your Bluetooth device, enable Bluetooth and select "M-1380DBT" from the Device List. If prompted for a passcode, use "0000". Some devices may require connection acceptance. A sound notification indicates successful pairing. The display shows "Connected".
Note: To connect to a different Bluetooth device, long press / to disconnect the current device first. On computers, you may need to select the unit as an "Audio Device (stereo)". Pairing remains intact when devices go out of range and reconnects automatically when back in range. The unit will automatically try to reconnect to the last paired device when turned on.
Using a Bluetooth Device
- With a unit paired, operate your Bluetooth device; sound will play through the M-1380 DBT speakers.
- Press to pause playback; press again to resume.
- Select desired track with / .
- Adjust volume using / buttons or on the paired device.
Using an NFC Device
NFC (Near Field Communication) enables short-range wireless communication.
- When the unit is on, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the Bluetooth icon . The display shows "Connecting...".
- Enable NFC and Bluetooth on your device. Tap the NFC device on the unit's NFC tag until you hear a notification. The display shows "Connected".
- Select and play audio files or music on your NFC device.
- To disconnect, tap the NFC device on the unit's NFC tag again.
Note: Operational range between the main unit and an NFC device is approximately 10 meters.
Stereo Pairing
This function allows for stereo surround sound quality and requires two M-1380 DBT speakers. Purchase two units for wireless left/right channel separation. Recommended distance between speakers is less than 4 meters.
- Turn on both M-1380 DBT speakers.
- When both speakers are in pairing mode, press the button on one speaker (this becomes the main speaker/left channel) until you hear "Searching". It will search and connect to the secondary speaker (right channel). Left and right channels are recognized automatically. You will hear "Stereo Pairing" upon successful connection.
- Connect your main speaker to a Bluetooth-enabled device (e.g., smartphone).
- Play your song and listen in stereo.
- Press button on either speaker to pause playback; press again to resume.
- Press and hold button on the main speaker to disconnect stereo pairing.

Listening to Disc
- When the unit is ON, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the Disc icon . The display shows "Reading...". Press to open the disc tray. Insert a disc with the label side facing up. Press again to close the tray. (Note: If no disc is inserted, the display shows "NO DISC").
- After a few seconds, the total number of tracks will appear, and playback will start automatically.
USB Playback
- Connect a USB device to the USB MP3 port on the unit.
- When the unit is ON, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the USB icon . The display shows "Reading...". Playback starts automatically after a few seconds.
- Select desired track with / .
Notes:
- Total MP3 files on USB should not exceed 999.
- USB device should not contain more than 99 directories.
- Reading time varies based on USB content.
- Only insert USB devices into the port to avoid damage.
- Do not connect the USB port directly to a computer, as this may damage the unit.
- Compatibility with all USB devices cannot be guaranteed. Try another USB device if yours is not supported.
Play Modes (CD/MP3)
- Repeat Playback: Press REP. repeatedly to select a mode (Repeat One: " ", Repeat Folder: " ", Repeat All: " "). Press REP. repeatedly until the indicator disappears to cancel.
- Random Playback: Press RAND. The random indicator lights up . Press RAND. again to cancel.
- Program Playback: In stop mode, press PROG. The display shows "01" and track count. Select desired tracks with / and press PROG. to confirm. Up to 32 tracks for CD and 99 for MP3 can be programmed. Press to start programmed playback. Press once to stop, twice to cancel.
Select a Folder (MP3 only)
- Press the button to select the first track of the next folder.
- Press the button to select the first track of the previous folder.
Using Number Buttons 1-10
Enter the track number using the numeric buttons. For numbers greater than 9, use 1-10 buttons. Example: To select track 10, press 1 then 10 (1+10=10).
Connecting Auxiliary Source
To AUDIO IN RCA jacks
- Connect your auxiliary source (e.g., DVD player) to the AUDIO IN L/R jacks using an RCA audio cable (not included).
- When the unit is ON, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the RCA icon .
- Start playback from your auxiliary source.
- Adjust volume to the desired level.
- To stop playback, disconnect the auxiliary source from the AUDIO IN L/R jacks.
To 3.5mm AUX IN jack
- Connect your auxiliary source (e.g., MP3 player) to the AUX IN jack (cable included).
- When the unit is ON, repeatedly press SOURCE to select the AUX icon .
- Start playback from your auxiliary source.
- Adjust volume to the desired level.
- To stop playback, disconnect your auxiliary source from the AUX IN jack.
Setting Menu
When the unit is ON, press and hold MENU to access the setting menu. Rotate SELECT to select an option and/or adjust settings, then press SELECT to confirm.
Note: The "*" symbol indicates the current setting. Press MENU to return to the previous step.
DAB Setting Menu
- Station List: Displays a full list of available DAB stations.
- Full Scan: Automatically scans for receivable DAB broadcasts.
- Manual Tune: Assists in positioning the antenna or unit for better reception of specific channels or frequencies. Rotate SELECT to select frequency and press SELECT to tune.
- Station Order: Multiplex (numerical then alphabetical), Alphanumeric (alphabetical), Active (by signal strength).
- DRC (Dynamic Range Compression): Adjusts compression level (Off, Low, High) for clearer sound in noisy environments. DRC is effective only for DRC broadcasts.
- Prune Station: Removes unavailable listed stations. Confirm with "Yes".
Main Menu
- Time setup: Set time and date (DD/MM/YYYY, HH:MM). Refer to "Setting the Time and Date" section.
- Clock format: Set 12/24 hour format.
- Auto update: No update (system setting) or From radio (update from FM/DAB/DAB+).
- Alarms: Set alarms. Refer to "Setting the Alarm" section.
- EQ: Select sound effect (Default, Rock, Classic, Jazz, Pop).
- Sleep: Set sleep timer. Refer to "Sleep Function" section.
- Backlight: Set backlight timeout/level. Refer to "Display Dimmer" section.
- Language: Select menu language (English, Français, Deutsch, Nederlands).
- Factory Reset: Restore to factory default settings.
- SW version: Review current software version.
FM Setting Menu
- Audio setting: Select "Stereo or mono" or "Mono only" for FM radio.
Main Menu (FM)
Refer to "DAB Setting Menu / Main Menu" section. Note: In Bluetooth, Disc, USB, AUX, or RCA mode, press and hold MENU to enter the "Main menu" for settings.
Maintenance
Cleaning
WARNING: Disconnect the unit from the mains supply before cleaning.
- Use a soft, dry, clean cloth. Dust the vents regularly.
- Solvents, abrasive, or alcohol-based products risk damaging the appliance.
- If an object or liquid enters the appliance, unplug it immediately and have it checked by an authorized engineer.
Notes on Disc
- Do not use irregular shape CDs (heart-shaped, octagonal).
- Do not place more than one disc in the compartment.
- Do not open the disc compartment during playback.
- Do not touch the lens.
- If a disc is scratched, dirty, or has fingerprints, it may cause tracking errors. Clean discs from the center outwards.
- Do not store discs in high temperatures or high humidity; they may warp. Store discs in their cases after playing.
- CD-R/RW playback capability may vary depending on content quality, burner, and software.
Important Note: Remove the disc from the compartment before transporting the unit.
Now Playing Information
While a station is playing, the display shows its name and DLS information (program name, track title, etc.). Short press MENU or INFO. to cycle through the following information:
- DAB mode: Program type, ensemble name, DAB variant/channel number, region, date/channel number, frequency, bit rate, codec/signal error rate, signal strength/Radio text.
- FM mode: Radio Text/PTY (Program Type), signal strength, date.
Error Messages
- 'Not available': No DAB reception.
- 'No DAB station': Listed station cannot be found.
- (No name): Current station does not broadcast an identify name.
- 'No station found': No DAB stations available, check/move antenna.
- 'No Radio Text': No RDS text information available.
- 'No Program Type': No RDS program type information available.

Troubleshooting Guide
If the unit exhibits a problem, check the following before seeking service:
- No Power: Ensure the unit is connected to AC power.
- No Sound - General: Check external device volume and M-1380 DBT volume; raise them if set to minimum.
- Bluetooth Device Cannot Pair or Connect: Ensure Bluetooth is activated on your device. Check if the unit is in pairing mode (hold / until indicator blinks fast). Disconnect any other paired Bluetooth device.

CAUTION: To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not open the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
The lightning symbol with an arrow indicates "dangerous voltage" inside the unit.
The exclamation point indicates important instructions accompanying the product.
WARNING: TO PREVENT FIRE OR SHOCK HAZARD, DO NOT EXPOSE THIS APPLIANCE TO RAIN OR MOISTURE.
CAUTION: Invisible laser radiation when open and interlocks defeated. Avoid exposure to beam. This compact disc player is classified as a CLASS 1 LASER product.
IMPORTANT
- Use in moderate climates.
- Ensure minimum 5 cm distance around the unit for sufficient ventilation. Do not cover ventilation openings.
- Do not place naked flame sources (e.g., lighted candles) on the apparatus.
- Do not expose to dripping or splashing water.
- Do not place objects filled with liquids (e.g., glass, vase) on the device.
- Do not throw batteries into fire! Dispose of used batteries responsibly.
- Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat.
- The power plug is used as a disconnect device and must remain easily accessible.
- Under the influence of fast transient and/or electrostatic phenomena, the product may malfunction. A power reset may be necessary.
If disposing of this product in the future, note that waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Recycling facilities exist. Check with your municipality or dealer for advice (Directive for Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
