Dos and Don'ts
Do's:
- ✔️ Always hold the garment steamer by the insulated handle.
- ✔️ Exercise caution when using the fabric brush attachment.
- ✔️ Keep the steam head at least 20 cm away from the garment steamer main unit.
- ✔️ Always unplug the garment steamer during filling, after use, and before any cleaning or user maintenance.
- ✔️ Always follow the garment manufacturer's care instructions.
Don'ts:
- ❌ Do not use damaged accessories.
- ❌ Do not tip or tilt the garment steamer once it has been filled with water, as this will cause boiling water to leak and could cause serious injury.
- ❌ Do not position the garment steamer too closely to the surface of the fabric or apply too much pressure, as this could cause damage to the fabric.
- ❌ Do not press the fabric brush attachment too firmly onto the garment.
- ❌ Do not twist the hose or block the steam holes.
Care and Maintenance
Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the garment steamer from the mains power supply and allow it to cool sufficiently (for approx. 30 minutes).
- Remove the water tank and drain the contents.
- Drain away any remaining water from the reservoir within the garment steamer. To do this, loosen the water release valve on the bottom of the garment steamer by holding it over a sink, suitable container, or outdoors and turn the water release valve in an anticlockwise direction.
- Wipe the garment steamer main unit and accessories with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.
Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or scourers.
Note: There is no cause for concern if condensation or water droplets are present inside the water tank before use. This is a result of quality testing completed on the production line and is a normal manufacturing and quality control process. The garment steamer does not need to be disassembled for storage.
Descaling the Water Tank and Removing Limescale
If living in a hard water area, calcium deposits may begin to build up inside the water tank or accessories. If this occurs, it is recommended to use demineralised water with the garment steamer. Limescale can develop over time and can affect the performance of the garment steamer. It is recommended to remove limescale at least once a month. Use a limescale removing solution that is suitable for use with a garment steamer. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Instructions for Use
Before First Use
Before connecting to the mains power supply, clean the garment steamer following the instructions in the section entitled 'Care and maintenance'. Allow the garment steamer to steam for approx. 3-4 minutes to remove any impurities that may have been left behind during production. It is recommended to steam an old piece of cotton prior to steaming the preferred garment to check that any impurities have been removed.
Note: When using the garment steamer for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the garment steamer when it is in use.
Assembling the Garment Steamer
- To adjust the height of the extension pole, open the height adjustment locks and then pull the extension pole upwards until the desired height is reached. Secure into position by closing the height adjustment locks.
- Attach the hanger and built-in steam head hook to the top of the extension pole by inserting the extension pole into the bottom of the hanger.
- Place the steam head in between the hooks on the steam head hook. The steam head should be able to freely rest once in position.
- If the fabric brush attachment is required, carefully secure it onto the steam head by inserting the locking tab into the corresponding slots. The fabric brush attachment can be used to brush fabrics and remove lint while steaming.
Using the Garment Steamer
- Before switching the garment steamer on at the mains power supply, remove the water tank from the garment steamer main unit by holding the water tank handle and lifting it upwards.
- Unscrew the cap on the bottom of the water tank and then fill it with cool water. Replace the cap and carefully refit the water tank. The water tank should sit freely but be stable in the garment steamer main unit.
- Place the garment steamer onto a flat, stable surface at a height that is comfortable for the user. It is recommended to place the garment steamer main unit on a hard, flat floor.
- Plug in and switch on the garment steamer at the mains power supply.
- Switch on the garment steamer by turning the variable steam control to 'SILK', 'COTTON', or 'LINEN', depending upon the type of garment to be steamed.
- The power indicator light will illuminate to signal that the garment steamer is heating up and will start producing steam after approx. 45 seconds.
- Hang the garment to be steamed on the hanger.
- Press the steam head gently against the fabric and carefully steam the garment using long, straight downwards movements to remove any wrinkles or creases.
- Switch off the garment steamer by turning the variable steam control to 'OFF'.
Note: If the water tank is not empty and it is removed during use, water will collect in the recess underneath. This is normal and is not a fault.
CAUTION: During operation, the hose and extension pole will get very hot; exercise extreme caution.
WARNING: Do not fill the water tank with hot water or any cleaning fluids/detergents. Never twist the hose or block the steam holes, as this could damage the garment steamer and potentially cause a hazard. Do not tilt or tip the garment steamer main unit whilst in use.
