Dos and Don'ts
- Do: Exercise caution when using the garment steamer, as the surface and steam head will get very hot. Switch off the iron/garment steamer and disconnect it from the mains power supply before changing or fitting accessories. Always hold the iron/garment steamer by the handle. Allow the iron/garment steamer to cool before fitting or removing any attachments.
- Don't: Do not overfill the water tank. Do not use anything other than water to fill the water tank. Do not position the iron/garment steamer too closely to the surface of the fabric or apply too much pressure, as this could cause damage. Do not touch any sections of the iron/garment steamer that may become hot during use, as this could cause injury.
Care and Maintenance
Before attempting any cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the iron/garment steamer from the mains power supply and allow it to cool sufficiently (for approx. 30 minutes).
- Drain any remaining water from the water tank once the iron/garment steamer main unit has cooled.
- Wipe the iron/garment steamer main unit with a soft, damp cloth and allow to dry thoroughly.
- Clean the accessories in warm, soapy water; rinse and dry thoroughly.
- The iron/garment steamer and its accessories are not suitable for dishwasher use.
- Do not use harsh or abrasive cleaners or detergents.
Descaling the Water Tank and Removing Limescale
If living in a hard water area, calcium deposits may begin to build up inside the water tank or accessories. If this occurs, it is recommended to use demineralised water with the iron/garment steamer.
Limescale can develop over time and can affect the performance of the iron/garment steamer. It is recommended to remove limescale at least once a month. Use a limescale removing solution that is suitable for use with an iron/garment steamer. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Instructions for Use
Before First Use
- Wipe the iron/garment steamer main unit with a soft, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Allow the iron/garment steamer to steam for approx. 2-3 minutes to remove any impurities that may have been left behind during production.
- It is recommended to steam an old piece of cotton prior to steaming the preferred garment, to check that any impurities have been removed.
NOTE: When using the iron/garment steamer for the first time, a slight odour may be emitted. This is normal and will soon subside. Allow for sufficient ventilation around the garment steamer when it is in use.
Filling the Water Tank
- Switch off and unplug the iron/garment steamer from the mains power supply.
- To remove the water tank, gently press it until a click sounds, then lift it out of its position.
- Pull away the water tank cap. Fill the tank with clean water, taking care not to overfill. Once filled, securely close the silicone cap.
- After filling the water tank, reinstall it into the iron/garment steamer by pushing it into position, ensuring it clicks into place.
Using as a Garment Steamer
- Check that the iron/garment steamer is switched off and unplugged from the mains power supply. If required, attach the fabric brush to the small ceramic soleplate and click it into place.
- Fill the water tank following the instructions in the section entitled 'Filling the water tank'.
- Place the iron/garment steamer onto a flat, stable surface, then plug in and switch on the iron/garment steamer at the mains power supply; the power icon on the control panel will illuminate signalling it is on.
- Press the power button; the no steam icon will illuminate and flash indicating the iron/garment steamer main unit is heating up. Once preheated, the no steam icon will remain steady.
- Whilst the iron/garment steamer is preheating, hang the garment to be steamed.
- To start steaming, press the power button. Press once to select low steam mode, then again to select the high steam mode. Gently press the iron/garment steamer against the fabric and carefully steam the garment using long, straight, downward strokes to effectively remove wrinkles and creases.
- Once the garment has been steamed, hold the power button for approx. 3 seconds to turn off the iron/garment steamer and return to a resting mode. Switch off and unplug the garment steamer from the mains power supply.
NOTE: Multiple passes may be required for garments of thicker material or with more stubborn crinkles. When the water tank is empty, the iron/garment steamer will make an abnormal sound and the water tank indicator icon will flash before automatically shutting off. Remove the water tank and refill it with water. Refill the water tank as and when required; one max. fill offers approx. 7 minutes of continuous use.
CAUTION: Please always refer to the label on item of clothing to check if the garment can be steamed. To ensure the garment is suitable for steaming, always test a small patch on the inside of the garment to check it does not damage the fabric.
WARNING: During use, the iron/garment steamer will get hot. Exercise extreme caution.
