This product features a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits into a polarized outlet in only one orientation. If the plug does not fit fully, reverse it. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Never use with an extension cord unless the plug can be fully inserted. Do not attempt to bypass the plug's safety features or alter the plug.

CAUTION:

To prevent electrical shock, match the wide blade of the plug to the wide slot and insert fully.

Assembly Instructions

Step 1: Prepare and Route Power Cord

Begin assembly by gathering parts. Tools are indicated as necessary, and consulting IKEA is suggested if help is needed. The power cord is threaded through the base and the first pole section.

Step 2: Connect Pole Sections

Thread the power cord through subsequent pole sections as they are joined. Pole sections are connected by screwing their threaded ends together.

Step 3: Attach Pole to Base and Connect Wiring

Attach the assembled pole structure to the base plate, securing it with screws from underneath. Connect the power cord wires to the terminals in the base.

Step 4: Continue Pole Assembly and Wiring

Ensure the power cord is securely connected to the base terminals. Continue assembling and connecting the remaining pole sections.

Step 5: Attach Socket Assembly and Lamp Shades

Attach the socket assembly to the top of the pole, tightening the connection. Mount the lamp shades onto the socket assembly, using the provided fasteners (3x per shade) and screws. Ensure all shades are securely fastened.

Step 6: Install Light Bulb

Install a suitable light bulb into the socket. The lamp is now assembled.
