- BUCAM350 License plate style camera
- Power Cable w/ Fuse, Video Cable
Mounting the Camera
Position the camera on the license plate top screws for the best viewing angle. Avoid placing it directly next to or under a reverse/backup/license lamp, as this may blind the camera at night. Before drilling, determine the best way to run power wires to the reverse lights and the extension cable through the car, ensuring no interference with safety equipment or trunk releases. The camera should lay flat against the mounting surface for proper installation.
Wiring Options
- OPTION 1: Connect camera power wire to the vehicle's reverse lamp: Locate the reverse lamp in the tail light assembly. Attach the red wire to the positive 12-volt wire from the reverse lamp using a crimp connector or soldering tool. The red power wire on the video RCA cable will not be needed. Cap or tape off bare wires to prevent interruption. Attach the black wire to ground (-). Run the video cable to the receiver/monitor and connect the yellow RCA end to the camera and the other end to the video source.
- OPTION 2: Connect camera power wire to receiver/monitor power: From the camera location, connect the red power wire from the power cable to the red power wire of one end of the video cable. Attach the black wire to ground. Run the video cable to the receiver/monitor. Connect the yellow RCA end of the video cable to the camera and the other end to the video source. From the video source location, connect the red power wire from the video cable end to the reverse wire lead on the video source.
