Getting Started

Installation

Before You Start

• Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Consult a qualified technician for instructions.
• Avoid installing the unit where it would be subject to high temperatures (e.g., direct sunlight) or dust, dirt, or excessive vibration.

Components: TRIM RING, MOUNTING SCREWS (T5 x 6mm). Use 2 or 3 screws to affix the monitor to the bracket.

Control Locations

The radio display features the following functions and displays:

1. RESET
2. VOL-
3. VOL+
4. Power/Mute
5. SOURCE
6. VOICE ACTIVATION BUTTON

Notes:

• When replacing a fuse, use the correct type and amperage. The unit uses one 15 amp ATC mini style fuse located on the power connector.
• Subwoofer output: The Subwoofer preamp audio output (Green RCA) is active in all audio modes.
• Rear camera input: A rear view camera (not included) can be used with the Camera input.

Main Menu

From the main menu, press the desired icon to enter the corresponding mode: Radio/USB/BT Phone/BT Audio/Android Auto/Apple CarPlay/AV In/Equalizer/Settings.

Tuner Operation

USB Operation

From the main menu, touch the USB icon on the main screen.

(Description of USB Operation screen: Shows playback controls including Play/Pause, Skip Track, Repeat, Random, Search, EQ, and Track List. Displays track information like artist and song title.)

Note: Video playback is enabled only when the vehicle is in park and the parking brake engaged.

Bluetooth Operation

Before using Bluetooth

To use Bluetooth for hands-free calls or audio streaming, the device must be authenticated, also known as "pairing".

Pairing a New Device

The unit broadcasts a pairing signal when no devices are connected. Complete the pairing sequence from your Bluetooth device. The device name is "CAR710-4". Pairing may need to be performed more than once on some phones.

Connect

The head unit automatically connects to the last connected device if "Auto connect On" is selected. If "Auto Connect Off" is selected, it will not connect automatically.

Bluetooth Phone

From the main menu, touch the Bluetooth icon. A Bluetooth icon appears when a device is connected.

Dialing a Number: Press [keypad icon] to display the keypad and dial a number.

Making and Ending a Call: Press [call icon] to connect a call, and press [end call icon] to end a call.

Transferring Audio: Press [transfer icon] to transfer audio between the head unit and mobile phone.

Streaming Audio

• Press [play/pause icon] to play or pause music.
• Press [previous track icon] to skip to the previous track.
• Press [next track icon] to advance to the next track.

Audio Operation

Press the Settings icon on the main menu to adjust Fader, Balance, and Equalizer settings (8-Band Tone Control and 8 Presets EQ Settings).

Apple CarPlay Operation

Select Apple CarPlay on the Main Menu. If an iPhone is connected via USB, pressing the Apple CarPlay icon mirrors the iPhone's apps. The CAR710-4 will automatically switch to Apple CarPlay mode when the iPhone USB cable is connected.

Android Auto™ Operation

Select Android Auto on the Main Menu. If an Android phone is connected via USB, pressing the Android Auto icon mirrors the Android Auto interface. The CAR710-4 will automatically switch to Android Auto mode when the Android Phone USB cable is connected.

General Operation

From the Main Menu, select Setup to access the Settings menu. Choose from categories like General, Audio, Display, and Others to adjust available options via the touch screen.

Limited One Year (Or Three Year*) Warranty

This warranty provides specific legal rights, which may vary by state. Namsung America Inc. warrants this product to the original purchaser against defects in material and workmanship for one year (or three years* from the date of original purchase). Namsung America Inc. will, at its option, repair or replace defective products with new, renewed, or comparable products during the warranty period, subject to verification of the defect and proof of purchase.

Who is covered: Original retail purchaser for products bought from an authorized JENSEN dealer in the U.S.A.

What is covered: All defects in material and workmanship. Not covered: software, installation/removal costs, damage from accident, misuse, abuse, neglect, product modification, improper installation, incorrect line voltage, unauthorized repair, or failure to follow instructions. Warranty Coverage: Limited 1-year warranty (or 3-year warranty if professionally installed by an authorized Jensen dealer, proof required).

What to do:

1. Consult the troubleshooting guide in your owner's manual for potential solutions.
2. If service is needed, pack the product carefully (preferably in original packaging) and ship it prepaid with a copy of the original receipt to an authorized service center.
3. Include a written description of the problem, your name, a return UPS shipping address (no P.O. Boxes), and a daytime phone number.
