Battery
Your watch is equipped with a battery installed at the factory. If the backlight is dim or the display is faint, replace the battery immediately at the nearest CASIO dealer or distributor.
Water Resistance
Watches are classified by rating (I to V) according to their water resistance. Check your watch's rating in the table below for proper operation.
Rating | Marking on Case | Splashes, Rain | Swimming, Washing Car, etc. | Water-resistant Diving | Scuba Diving |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | No | No | No | No | |
II | WATER RESISTANT | Yes | No | No | No |
III | 50M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | No | No |
IV | 100M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | No |
V | 200M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
V | 300M WATER RESISTANT | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Notes for respective ratings:
- I: Watches are not protected from water. Avoid all moisture.
- II: Do not pull out the crown while the watch is wet.
- III: Do not press the watch buttons underwater.
- IV: If the watch is exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it.
- V: Watches can be used for scuba diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen mixture).
Some water-resistant watches have leather straps. Do not wear these watches while swimming or engaging in other activities where the strap may get wet.
Care and Maintenance
- Never attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.
- The gasket that protects the watch from water and dust should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If water enters the watch, have it checked immediately by your nearest CASIO dealer or distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures.
- While designed for normal use, avoid rough handling and dropping the watch.
- Do not fasten the strap too tightly. A finger should fit between your wrist and the strap.
- To clean the watch and strap, use a dry soft cloth or a soft cloth dampened with a water-based solution of mild neutral detergent. Never use volatile substances like benzine, solvents, or spray cleaners.
- When not using the watch, store it in a dry place.
- Avoid contact with benzine, cleaning solvents, spray aerosols, adhesives, paint, etc. Chemical reactions with these materials can damage gaskets, the case, and polish.
- Some models feature silk-screened designs on the strap. Clean these straps carefully to avoid damaging the designs.
For Watches with Plastic Straps:
- A white powdery substance may appear on the strap. This substance is harmless to your skin or clothing and can be easily removed by wiping with a cloth.
- Exposure of a plastic strap to sweat or moisture, or storing it in high humidity conditions, can lead to damage, tearing, or cracking. To ensure a long service life for a plastic strap, wipe it clean of dirt and water with a soft cloth whenever possible.
For Watches with Fluorescent Cases and Straps:
- Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause the fluorescent coloring to gradually fade.
- Prolonged contact with moisture can cause the fluorescent coloring to gradually fade. If any moisture gets on the watch surface, wipe it off as soon as possible.
- Prolonged contact with any other wet surface can lead to discoloration of the fluorescent coloring. Ensure the fluorescent surface is free of moisture and avoid contact with other surfaces.
- Strong friction of a surface with fluorescent paint against another surface can transfer the fluorescent paint to that surface.
