Unpacking Your Appliance
Excessive Weight Hazard
Use two or more people to move the product to prevent personal injury.
Remove Interior Packaging
Your appliance is packed with all parts securely fastened to prevent damage during shipment. Remove internal packing materials and tape holding components. The owner's manual, warranty registration card, and accessories are shipped inside the product in a plastic bag.
Important Handling
Keep your carton and packaging until the appliance has been thoroughly inspected and found to be in good condition. Packaging is needed as proof of damage in transit. Dispose of all items responsibly afterward.
Suffocation Hazard
Dispose of plastic bags properly, as they can be a suffocation hazard.
Appliance Placement After Transit
If the appliance was shipped, handled, or stored in a non-upright position, allow it to sit upright for at least 24 hours before plugging in. This ensures oil returns to the compressor, preventing damage to internal parts.

- Ensure the front grille vents are unobstructed and clean to allow proper ventilation for heat expulsion.
- Plug the appliance into a dedicated power circuit, not shared with other appliances.
- When initially loading or adding large quantities of warm contents, minimize door openings for the next 12 hours to allow contents to reach the set temperature.
- A relatively full storage compartment requires less appliance run time than an empty one.
- Ensure door closing is not obstructed by stored contents.
- Allow hot items to reach room temperature before placing them in the product.
- Minimize door openings and their duration.
- Use the warmest temperature control setting that meets your preference and provides proper storage.
- When away from home for extended periods, set the appliance to the warmest acceptable temperature for stored contents.
- Set the control to the "off" position if cleaning requires the door to be open for an extended period.
- For wine storage products: When serving temperatures are not required, set the compartment temperature to the ideal long-term storage temperature of 13°C / 55°F.
Stainless Steel Maintenance
Background
Stainless steel is resistant to staining, corrosion, and rust but is not entirely immune. It can discolor or corrode if not maintained properly. The chromium content provides a protective chrome-oxide film on the surface, which can be damaged by contaminants, leading to discoloration or corrosion.
Note on Chemicals
Stainless steel products should never be installed or stored in close proximity to chlorine chemicals.
Care & Cleaning
Routine cleaning extends product life by removing contaminants, especially important in coastal areas exposed to halide salts (sodium chloride). Periodically inspect and clean crevices, weld points, under gaskets, rivets, and bolt heads. Replace any mounting hardware showing signs of corrosion. Cleaning frequency depends on installation location, environment, and usage.
Choosing a Cleaning Product
The most effective method for routine cleaning is to rub surfaces with a soft cloth soaked in warm water and a mild detergent or ammonia mixture. Rub in the direction of the steel's polish lines and rinse thoroughly. Some "stainless steel cleaners" may contain abrasives or chlorine bleach, which can scratch or dull the surface. After cleaning, a quality car wax can help maintain the finish. Always follow the cleaner manufacturer's instructions.

R-600A Specifications & Handling
Safety Precautions
Gloves and eye protection must be used when handling R-600a. R-600a is considered non-toxic but is flammable when mixed with air. Keep a dry powder type fire extinguisher in the work area.
Handling R-600a
R-600a is heavier than air; prevent leakage or migration to low areas like basements and stairs. Never use a torch on a fully charged refrigeration system. Never substitute Marvel OEM replacement parts or methods of construction. R-600a must be stored and transported in approved containers.
R-600a Warnings
DANGER: Risk of fire or explosion. Flammable refrigerant used. Service only by trained personnel. Do not puncture refrigerant tubing.
CAUTION: Risk of fire or explosion. Consult repair manual/owner's guide before servicing. Follow all safety precautions. Dispose of property in accordance with federal or local regulations.
R-600A Specifications/Labeling
Products equipped with R-600a are labeled on the unit and compressor. R-600a is colorless and odorless. Do not remove or alter any R-600a labeling. Use only refrigerant grade R-600a from a properly labeled container.
Recovering/Reclaiming R-600A
(R-600a has been exempted from recovery/reclaiming requirements by the US EPA). Use approved recovery/reclaiming equipment. Ensure the evaporator is at room temperature prior to recovery. Use piercing pliers or a valve to remove R-600a from the compressor process tube. Piercing devices must not be left on the system and must be replaced with a Schrader type valve.
System Repair
Evacuate/reclaim R-600a via piercing pliers to ensure the system is empty before work. The recovery cylinder must be evacuated (no air inside) before accepting R-600a, not filled beyond 45% safe fill level, and clearly marked with R-600a and Flammable Warning labels. Ensure proper ventilation during recovery. Start vacuum pump/recovery pump before piercing the compressor process tube. Follow OEM recovery/reclaim instructions.
Ensure no residual R-600a is left in the system before repair (simple venting is insufficient). Evacuate and charge with dry nitrogen for leak checks. Repair leaks or replace parts as required.
Leak Detection
After R-600a removal, the unit can be charged with dry nitrogen or helium. Use electronic leak detection or soap solution to check for leaks. Never use a halide torch or lighted match to check for leaks. Test the high side of the system (compressor discharge to drier outlet) with the compressor running.
Recharging
Test the low side (evaporator, compressor, suction line) with the compressor off (equalized pressure). Proper ventilation is required during service. Never use a torch on a charged R-600a system. Use OEM replacement service parts and do not alter the unit's construction.
Install a Schrader Type access port on the compressor process stub. Evacuate the system to 100 microns before charging. Weigh in the R-600a charge using a refrigerant scale, running the compressor for an extra two minutes to clear charging hoses. Seal the Schrader Type access port with a proper cap and seal.
Summary
Safely handling R-600a requires proper procedures and training. Use R-600a approved service tools. R-600a labeling must not be removed or altered.
