What is the BERNINA Accessories App?

The BERNINA Accessories App functions as a digital wallet card, designed to help users learn about and keep track of their BERNINA presser feet and other accessories. It provides a comprehensive way to manage both owned and desired accessories.

• Learn Key Features: Understand the main functionalities of each accessory.
• Access Videos: Watch instructional videos for accessories (if available).
• Search Functionality: Easily find accessories by name, number, technique, or keyword.
• Track Owned Accessories: Keep a record of accessories currently owned.
• Track Desired Accessories: Maintain a wish list of accessories.
• Stay Updated: Discover the latest available accessories, promotions, and new products.
• Compatibility Check: Determine which accessories fit specific BERNINA machines (for models manufactured since 1997).

Easy to Use Interface

The app's design allows for easy navigation, with most functionality accessible through multiple pathways. The home screen features prominent "Browse", "Search", and "Wish List" options. A tab bar at the bottom of the screen provides quick access to "Home", "Accessories", "What's New", and "My BERNINA" sections, along with "I Own" and "What's New" indicators.

Getting Started with the BERNINA Accessories App

The following steps guide users through setting up and utilizing the app. Screenshots are from an iPhone, but the guide is also applicable to iPod Touch and iPad devices.

Note: Due to technical and resource limitations, the app does not include "old style" machine models and accessories. However, since most presser feet are available in both "old style" and newer variations, the app can still be beneficial for users of older BERNINA models.

1. Step 1: Record Your Model

   • Touch the "My BERNINA" icon (represented by a sewing machine symbol) from either the Home screen or the tab bar.
   • Select the specific machine models owned.
   • Upon selection, a green checkmark (☑) will appear next to the chosen model.
   • When revisiting this screen, previously selected models will "float" to the top of the list for easy access.

2. Step 2: Browse Accessories

   • Accessories are listed in numerical order, followed by alphabetical order.
   • Use the Search bar to find accessories by foot number, name, keyword, or technique.
   • Select an accessory from the list to view more details.
   • Accessories without a number are listed at the bottom of the list.

3. Step 3: Detail Screen

   • View an accessory photo.
   • Read about the accessory's key features.
   • Check if the accessory is compatible with the recorded BERNINA model(s).
   • Watch a video of the accessory (if available).
   • To add an item to the Wish List, touch "I Want".
   • To add an item to the Own List, touch "I Own".
   • To return to the full accessories list, touch "Accessories".

4. Step 4: Own List

   • Keep track of accessories already owned.
   • Touch the "I Own" icon (a box with a checkmark) from the Home Screen.
   • Alternatively, touch the "Own" button at the top of the Browse Accessories screen.
   • All owned items will be displayed on screen and can be searched.

5. Step 5: Wish List

   • Keep track of accessories desired.
   • Touch the "Wish List" icon (a heart symbol) from the Home Screen.
   • Alternatively, touch the "Want" button at the top of the Browse Accessories screen.
   • All wish list items will be displayed on screen and can be searched.

6. Step 6: Compatible Accessories

   • Touch the "Compatible" button at the top of the Browse Accessories screen.
   • This list displays all accessories compatible with one or more of the user's recorded BERNINA models.
   • Touch an accessory on the Compatible list to view its details.
   • Scroll to the bottom of the Accessory Detail screen to see which specific model(s) the foot is compatible with. For example, the 1D Edgestitch Foot is compatible with the BERNINA B 780.

7. Step 7: What's New

   • Touch the "What's New" icon (a starburst symbol) from the Home Screen or Tab Bar.
   • A browser window will open, leading to a web page with information on new accessories, promotions, and educational materials.
   • The newest content will appear at the top of this page. Examples of content include:
     • Foot Book (added 2013-08-29): A resource to expand accessory knowledge by creating a fabric book showcasing stitched techniques using various presser feet and accessories.
     • Just SEW It! Webinars (added 2013-08-29): Webinars for new sewers, returning sewers, or those looking to sharpen basic sewing skills, exploring various sewing techniques.
     • Citrus Blossoms (added 2013-08-29): An exclusive collection featuring 25 DesignWorks designs, including a mixture.
