2. Important Safety Instructions

• Joyor electric scooters are personal transport vehicles designed for a single rider. Do not carry passengers.
• Joyor electric scooters are intended for adult use only. Persons under 16 years of age should not use this vehicle.
• Always wear a safety helmet when riding.
• Do not ride on unsafe surfaces, off-road, or on uneven terrain.
• Practice in an open, traffic-free space on gear level 1 before riding on bicycle lanes.
• Keep both hands on the handlebar and both feet on the standing board during operation. Do not jump on the standing board.
• Do not turn off the motor while riding.
• Avoid riding over gaps larger than 3 cm, as this can cause injury or damage.
• Slow down or stop on rough or bumpy roads.
• Adjust the handlebar height to suit your height for a safe and comfortable ride.
• Do not ride on slippery surfaces like oil or ice.
• Do not use the scooter in temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius.
• Keep the product dry and avoid immersion in water or rain to prevent damage to electrical parts.
• Avoid riding in adverse weather conditions (rain, snow, wind storm). If riding in such conditions, do not exceed 10 km/h.
• If the scooter is not used for over 30 days, charge the battery at least every 30 days.
• When unfolding the vehicle, ensure the folding system handle clicks into place.

3. Operational Instructions

3.1 Folding & Unfolding

Folding/Unfolding Process: The manual illustrates a step-by-step process for folding and unfolding the scooter. This typically involves releasing a latch or lever, folding the handlebar stem down towards the deck, and securing it. Unfolding reverses this process, raising the stem and locking it into place.

3.2 Display

Display Description: The scooter features a multifunctional color LCD display (Model: 882). It shows various information and allows control over scooter functions.

The Buttons

• Power/Display Control: Long press the ON/OFF button to turn on the display. Short press ON/OFF to cycle through ODO, TRIP, V, A, E, TM. Long press ON/OFF to turn off the display.
• Settings Mode: Long press M and ON/OFF simultaneously to enter parameter settings. Short press ON/OFF to navigate parameters, short press M to change settings. Long press M and ON/OFF to save and exit.
• Lights: Long press M to turn on the lights.

Display Functions

The display provides speed indication, power status, error codes, front and rear light status, cruise control status, gear level, total mileage, single mileage, real-time voltage, and running time.

Multi-indicator Area

Displays total mileage (ODO), single trip mileage (TRIP), real-time voltage (V), running time (TIME), and error codes (E).

Error Code Indicator

When the '!' symbol flashes, short press the ON/OFF switch to enter error analysis mode. Error codes indicate specific problems:

• ERRO 1: Motor fault
• ERRO 2: Throttle fault
• ERRO 3: Controller fault
• ERRO 4: Brake lever power off
• ERRO 5: Under voltage protection
• ERRO 6: Communication fault (display cannot get output from controller)
• ERRO 7: Communication fault (controller cannot get output from display)

Speed Indicator

Units: MPH, KM/H. Speed is transmitted from the motor via the controller to the display. Indicated speed depends on motor signal and wheel diameter.

Gear Switch

Short press the MODE button to select gears: 1 (slow), 2 (medium), 3 (fast). Gear 0 indicates the motor is not powered.

Lights Control

Long press the MODE key to turn front and rear lights on/off. Rear lights activate automatically when braking.

Cruise Control Function

To activate, hold the acceleration handle at a constant pressure for 5 seconds. Deactivate by using the brake handle.

Start Mode Selection

For safety, Joyor models (except Mbike) default to non-zero start mode. The motor only engages after the scooter is pushed to a speed above zero.

• NON: Non-zero start mode
• ZERO: Zero start mode

USB Charging Indicator

The display has a USB port for charging devices. The USB indicator lights up when a device is connected. If an error occurs, the indicator flashes, and a safety mode is activated.

Parameter Settings

Access settings by long-pressing M and ON/OFF. Use ON/OFF to cycle through parameters and M to change values. Long-press M and ON/OFF to save and exit.

• P01: Rear light brightness (1=darkest, 3=lightest)
• P02: Mileage unit (0=km, 1=mile)
• P04: Auto-off time (0=disabled, 1-60=minutes)
• P06: Wheel diameter (unit=inch, precision=0.1)
• P07: Number of measuring magnets (range 1-100)
• P09: Start mode (0=zero start, 1=non-zero start)
• P12: Starting torque (0=weakest, 5=strongest)
• P15: Motor drive signal percentage (for speed limit, set to 100 for full speed)
• P16: Cruise control (1=activated, 0=deactivated)
• P17: Light settings (0=lights on automatically when vehicle is on, 1=lights do not turn on automatically)
• P99: Factory reset (enter P99, then long press M for 5-6 seconds)

3.3 Riding Operations Instructions

3.3.1 Before Riding

• Choose a suitable venue.
• Unfold the electric scooter according to instructions.
• Adjust handlebar height for your height.

3.3.2 Riding

• Press the power button to turn on. Default gear is 1.
• The scooter has a safe start design: the motor engages only when speed is above 0 to prevent accidental starts. To begin riding, place one foot on the board, push off with the other foot like a kick scooter. Once moving, smoothly use the acceleration handle. Place the second foot on the board and continue riding.
• Adjust gears (1-3) and use lights/horn as needed based on road conditions.
• Be aware of the cruise control function (activated by holding acceleration for 3 seconds).
• Be aware of potential obstacles and manage speed accordingly.

3.3.3 Braking

• Use the rear brake handle for normal braking. Use the front brake handle (Series Y and M) for emergency braking.
• Braking force increases with pressure. Hard braking can lead to accidents (slipping, loss of balance, falls) and may damage tires.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Tires

• Joyor scooters use rubber elastic tires. Replace worn or punctured tires promptly.
• Contact an authorized distributor for tire replacement.
• Inspect tires monthly and check screw tightness. Tighten loose screws.

4.2 Battery

• The scooter is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with an average lifespan of 500 charge cycles.
• Before first use, fully charge the battery.
• Avoid fully depleting the battery; maintain at least 10% charge. For optimal performance, charge to over 50%.
• Do not leave a significantly discharged battery for extended periods; charge promptly.
• For long-term storage, ensure the battery is at least 40-50% charged. Recharge at least every 30 days.
• Always use the original Joyor charger specific to the model.
• Avoid extreme temperatures (below 0°C or direct sun) and keep the battery dry. Negative environmental conditions can damage the battery.
• Lithium-ion batteries require careful handling. Improper charging, damage, or overheating can cause fires. Never charge unattended or overnight. Always supervise charging and avoid overcharging. Do not use, charge, or leave damaged batteries unattended. Follow recycling protocols.

4.3 Charger

The dedicated Joyor charger includes charging protection timing.

Charging Instructions

• Open the charging port cover and insert the charger connector.
• Plug the charger into a power socket (AC110V-220V).
• The charger light turns red during charging and green when fully charged.
• Charge the battery in a dry, ventilated environment.

5. Warranty Policy

5.1 Warranty Scope

• This limited warranty covers defects in material or workmanship for 12 months from the first retail purchase for non-electric parts and the scooter frame. The battery is covered for 6 months, provided normal installation, use, service, and maintenance.
• Warranty coverage is only available to consumers who purchased the device from an authorized Joyor retailer or reseller.
• This warranty is for the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.

5.2 Warranty Limitations

This limited warranty does not cover issues caused by:

• Commercial use, accidents, abuse, neglect, shock, extreme temperatures, improper installation, operation, maintenance, or modification.
• Any misuse contrary to the user manual instructions.
• Malfunctions caused by other equipment.
• The warranty is void if the product is returned with removed, damaged, or tampered seals (including missing parts or disassembled components).
• Joyor does not cover warranty shipping costs.
