Diagrams illustrate various brackets: Driver/left front-passenger/right rear brackets, Passenger/right front-driver/left rear brackets, and Center Brackets. The front step pad is noted as being farther away from the end of the tube.
Installation Procedure
Before starting: Remove contents from the box and verify all parts are present. Read instructions carefully. Assistance is recommended.
- Start the installation under the driver side of the vehicle. Locate the front, center, and rear factory running board mounting locations along the inner side of the body. (Refer to Figure 1 for locating mounting studs).
- Slide one (1) plastic washer over each factory mounting stud in the body panel. (Refer to Figures 2 & 3). Important: Plastic washers prevent corrosion between the aluminum body panel and steel mounting brackets. Do not install brackets without plastic washers.
- Select one (1) driver side front mounting bracket. Note: This bracket is also used for the passenger side rear installation. Attach the bracket to the three (3) factory studs using three (3) 8mm flat washers and three (3) 8mm nylon lock nuts. Snug hardware but do not fully tighten. (Refer to Figure 4 for bracket installation).
- Select one (1) center bracket. Repeat steps 1-3 to install the driver side center bracket. Note: The center bracket is the same for both driver and passenger sides. (Refer to Figure 5 for bracket installation).
- Repeat steps 1-3 to install the driver side rear bracket. Note: This bracket is also used for the passenger side front installation. (Refer to Figure 6 for bracket installation).
- Select the driver/left sidebar. With assistance, position the sidebar up to the front and rear mounting brackets. Attach the sidebar to the mounting brackets using the included two (2) 1/2" x 2" hex bolts, two (2) 1/2" lock washers, and two (2) 1/2" flat washers. Leave hardware loose at this time.
- Line up the threaded insert in the bottom of the sidebar with the center bracket. Attach the sidebar to the bracket using one (1) 8mm x 25mm hex bolt, one (1) 8mm lock washer, and one (1) 8mm flat washer. Leave hardware loose at this time. (Refer to Figure 7 for bracket installation).
- Level and adjust the sidebar, then tighten all hardware.
- Repeat steps 1-8 to install the passenger/right sidebar.
- Perform periodic inspections to ensure all hardware remains secure and tight.
Care and Maintenance
To protect your investment, wax the product after installation. Regular waxing is recommended to add a protective layer over the finish. Do not use any polish or wax containing abrasives that could damage the finish.
- For stainless steel finishes: Aluminum polish may be used to polish small scratches and scuffs. Mild soap can also be used for cleaning.
- For gloss black finishes: Mild soap may be used for cleaning.
