Sensors
Name | Description of Operation |
---|---|
TrueMapping | TrueMapping calculates the precise distance between the DEEBOT robot and nearby objects by triangulating data from the emitted laser and the reflected laser from surrounding objects. As the DEEBOT moves, the positions of nearby objects are determined to create a spatial map of the robot's environment. Measurement range is 8 m. |
TrueDetect 3D Sensor | The TrueDetect 3D sensor scans objects with a linear laser and captures images with a monocular camera. Three-dimensional coordinates of the object are created using imaging algorithms to determine the object's size. Detection range is 0.35 m. |
Microphone | The microphone captures sound through membrane vibrations caused by human voice traveling through the air. This enables voice recording and voice control, allowing the DEEBOT robot to complete assigned tasks by acquiring and processing voice models. Effective wake-up distance is 8 m. |
Anti-drop sensors | The infrared distance detection senses the distance between the bottom of the DEEBOT robot and the floor. The DEEBOT robot will not move forward if there are stairs in front of it (e.g., if the height of a white surface is 90 mm or more), or if the detected distance exceeds a set threshold, activating the anti-drop function. Trigger distance is 60 mm. |
Carpet detection sensor | The sensor emits ultrasound at 300 kHz, which is absorbed by the carpet, causing the echo energy to be lower than the threshold. This allows DEEBOT to detect the presence of a carpet. In the ECOVACS laboratory, it can recognize over 50 types of carpets available on the market. |
Edge detection sensor | Using infrared distance measurement, the edge detection sensor can detect the distance of the DEEBOT robot and objects on its side. If there is a wall or obstacle on the right side, the DEEBOT will clean the edges to avoid missed spots and prevent collisions. |
Anti-collision sensor | Using the principle of an optoelectronic switch, the DEEBOT robot will avoid obstacles just before they collide with it. |
Using the Product
Notes Before Cleaning
Prepare the Cleaning Area
To ensure the maximum possible cleaning area, place furniture such as tables, chairs, and floor fans in their proper positions, and remove low-lying objects such as scales before using the DEEBOT robot.
Assist DEEBOT in Exploration
Open the doors of all rooms to help DEEBOT fully explore your house on its first use.
Prevent DEEBOT Robot from Falling
Place a physical barrier on the edge of stairs or other drop-off elements to prevent the DEEBOT robot from falling over the edge.
- Remove objects from the floor, including cables, clothing, and shoes, to improve cleaning efficiency.
- Before using this product on carpets with fringed edges, fold the carpet edges underneath it.
- Do not stand in narrow spaces, such as hallways, to avoid blocking the TrueMapping operation.
Quick Start
Remove all protective materials before using the appliance.
1. Installation
A "Click" sound indicates correct installation.
2. Station Assembly and Placement
Place the OMNI station against a wall on a flat, hard surface. Do not place objects within 0.05 meters on either side and 0.8 meters in front.
Notes:
- If there are reflective objects nearby the station, such as mirrors or reflective strips, cover the lower 14 cm of these objects.
- Do not place the station in direct sunlight.
- Do not use the appliance on wet surfaces or surfaces with standing water.
- Do not wipe the DEEBOT robot and station with a damp cloth or use liquids.
- For a better user experience, place the station in a location with a strong Wi-Fi signal.
3. Filling the Water Tank
Remove the clean water tank, open the tank cover, and fill it with water up to the maximum water level. Close the tank cover and reinstall the clean water tank.
Notes:
- We recommend using ECOVACS DEEBOT cleaning solution (sold separately). To purchase, open the ECOVACS HOME app or visit https://www.ecovacs.com.
- Use only ECOVACS DEEBOT cleaning solution to avoid malfunctions.
- Before reuse, wipe any water marks from the outside of the water tank with a soft, dry cloth.
- Before using DEEBOT, ensure that the covers for the clean water tank and dirty water tank are locked.
- Water marks in the tanks are a result of factory testing and do not affect normal use.
Powering On and Charging the DEEBOT Robot
1. Power On
Press and hold for 3 seconds, then wait for the startup music to play, indicating DEEBOT has powered on.
2. Return to Station
A short press recalls the DEEBOT to the OMNI station for charging.
Notes:
- When DEEBOT returns to the station, wait approximately 5 seconds and you will hear a voice prompt for successful pairing.
- When the station is installed and connected to a power source, DEEBOT will automatically return to charge and empty the dustbin when needed. It is recommended that DEEBOT starts cleaning from the station. Do not move the station during cleaning.
Download the ECOVACS HOME App
To take advantage of all available features, we recommend controlling the DEEBOT robot with the ECOVACS HOME app.
- To download the app, scan the QR code under the top cover.
- Search for the "ECOVACS HOME" app in the App Store or Google Play store and download it.
Notes: Follow the instructions in the app to complete registration, login, and connection.

Wi-Fi Network Requirements:
- You must use a 2.4 GHz network or a mixed 2.4/5 GHz network.
- Your router must support the 802.11b/g/n protocol and IPv4.
- Do not use a VPN (Virtual Private Network) or proxy server.
- Do not use a hidden network.
- WPA and WPA2 with TKIP, PSK, and AES/CCMP encryption.
- WEP EAP (Enterprise Authentication Protocol) is not supported.
- In North America, use Wi-Fi channels 1–11 and elsewhere use channels 1–13 (refer to local regulations).
- If you are using a network extender/repeater, the network name (SSID) and password must be the same as your primary network.
- Enable WPA2 on your router.
Wi-Fi Indicator Light
Indicator Light Status | Wi-Fi Connection Status |
---|---|
Slow flashing white light | Not connected to Wi-Fi |
Fast flashing white light | Connecting |
Solid white light | Connected to Wi-Fi |
Please note that to perform intelligent functions such as remote start, voice interaction, 2D/3D map display, and customized cleaning (depending on different models), you must download and use the ECOVACS HOME app, which is constantly updated. Before we can process certain basic and mandatory data and allow you to use specific functions through the ECOVACS HOME app, you must agree to our privacy policy and user agreement. If you do not agree to our privacy policy and user agreement, these functions will not be available. However, you can still use the basic functions of this appliance for manual operation.
Using DEEBOT
When creating the map for the first time, follow the DEEBOT robot to resolve minor issues. For example, the DEEBOT may get stuck under furniture. See the following solutions:
- Lift low furniture if possible.
- Cover the bottom part of the furniture.
- Set a virtual boundary using the app.
1. Start
Press [start-button] to start. Ensure the DEEBOT is in the station and fully charged before the first cleaning. The DEEBOT creates a map during cleaning.
2. Pause
Press [pause-button] to pause.
3. Wake Up
All indicator lights will turn off when the DEEBOT robot has been idle for a few minutes. Press [wake-up-button] to wake it up.
4. Return to Station
