General Notes

Type 12 enclosure, free standing, floor mounted, constructed with a 12 gauge formed frame.
Features a NEC standard gauge pan type door with a lockable handle.
Finish: ANSI #61 grey polyester powder. UL recognized.
Construction complies with applicable requirements of UL 50 & 1008.
Recommended clearances: 40 inches in the front.
Includes a 20% rated ground bus.
The unit is designed for combination top and bottom cable entry. The standard switch configuration utilizes top entry for emergency and load connections, and bottom entry for normal connections.
A solid copper bus neutral is provided as standard. A neutral switching pole is an optional feature.
The Type 12 enclosure can be converted to a Type 3R enclosure by removing the two knock-out (K.O.) openings located in the bottom area of the enclosure.
Applies to 2000 Amp transfer switches requiring NEMA Type 3R enclosure only.

Cable Lug and Screw Specifications:

A. Lug material: Aluminum alloy 6061-T6 with electro tin plated finish.
B. Screw material: Aluminum alloy 6262-19 with electro tin plated finish.
C. UL listed, CSA certified.
D. Lug screw tightening torque per UL 486B: 19 FT-LBS.
E. Sufficient wire bending space is provided for up to four (4) or six (6) 600 MCM cables per terminal, in accordance with Table 373-6(b) of NFPA 70 of the National Electrical Code (NEC).
