First Use or After a Long Period of Non-Use
Before first use or after a long period of inactivity, it is recommended to run water through the machine.
- Plug the machine into a power outlet and turn it on using the ON button.
- Fill the water tank with fresh, potable water.
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Press the Espresso and Lungo buttons to run water through the machine.
- Empty the drip tray and capsule container.
- Repeat steps 3-5.
Coffee Preparation
Prepare your coffee in a few simple steps:
- Turn on the machine. Wait for the ready light (approx. 25 seconds).
- Insert a Nespresso capsule into the capsule holder.
- Place a cup under the coffee spout.
- Press the Espresso button for a small cup (approx. 40 ml / 1.4 oz) or the Lungo button for a larger cup (approx. 110 ml / 3.7 oz).
- The machine will brew your coffee.
Programming the Water Volume
You can customize the coffee volume for both Espresso and Lungo buttons.
- Turn on the machine.
- Press and hold the desired button (Espresso or Lungo).
- Release the button when the desired coffee volume is reached.
- The machine will remember this setting for future use.
- To reset to default volumes: Press and hold the Espresso button for 3 seconds, then press and hold the Lungo button for 3 seconds.
Emptying the System
To empty the water system, for example before transport or long-term storage:
- Turn off the machine.
- Empty the water tank.
- Place a large container under the coffee spout.
- Press and hold the ON button for at least 3 seconds until the lights flash.
- The machine will run water through the system to empty it.
- Repeat if necessary.
Reset to Factory Settings
To restore the machine to its original factory settings:
- Ensure the machine is turned off.
- Press and hold the Lungo button for 3 seconds, then press and hold the Espresso button for 3 seconds.
- The lights will flash to confirm the reset.
Descaling
Regular descaling is essential to maintain your machine's performance and lifespan. The frequency depends on your water hardness.

- Empty the water tank and remove the drip tray.
- Fill the water tank with a descaling solution (follow Nespresso or recommended descaler instructions).
- Place a large container under the coffee spout.
- Turn on the machine and press the Lungo button. The descaling cycle will begin.
- After the cycle, empty the container and rinse the water tank.
- Fill the water tank with fresh water.
- Run two full tanks of fresh water through the machine (using the Lungo button) to rinse thoroughly.
Cleaning
Regular cleaning ensures optimal coffee taste and machine longevity.
- Empty and clean the drip tray and capsule container regularly.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
- Clean the coffee spout area.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, consult the following:
- Machine not turning on: Check power connection.
- No coffee dispensing: Ensure water tank is filled, capsule is inserted correctly, and machine is ready.
- Leaks: Check capsule insertion and water tank seating.
