To do so, please read through the following operating and safety instructions carefully. This product must be set up or used only by people who have been trained to do so.

Intended use
The electric ice scraper is designed to remove frost deposits (hoarfrost, hard rime, clear ice) from car windscreens. Store these instructions in an easily accessible place. Ensure you hand over all documentation when passing the product on to a third party. Any use
that differs to the intended use as stated is prohibited and potentially dangerous. Damage or injury caused by misuse and disregarding the above warning is not covered by the warranty or any liability on the part of the manufacturer. The device is not intended for  commercial use. Commercial use will void the warranty. This product is only intended for standard use.

PLEASE READ THROUGH THE OPERATING  INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USE.
THESE FORM PART OF THE PRODUCT AND MUST BE AVAILABLE AT ALL TIMES!

This section covers the basic safety regulations that apply when working with the device.

Personal safety:

• The device is not intended for use by children or individuals with impaired physical, sensory or mental capacities or those who are not familiar with these operating instructions.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
• Keep the device away from people – especially children – and pets.
• In the work area, the user is responsible to third parties for damage caused by the use of the device.
• Keep the device in a dry place and out of the reach of children.

CAUTION! How to avoid damage to the device and any harm to persons that may result from such damage:
Working with the device:

• Do not use the device while driving.
• In hot weather, do not leave the device in the car. The device could be irreparably damaged as a result.
• Check the device for damage before startup and only use it in perfect condition.
• Do not expose the device to rain or wet weather and do not allow it to come into contact with water or to be submerged in water. There is a risk of electric shock!
• Only use the accessories supplied and recommended by the manufacturer.
• Only connect the connection cable to the vehicle cigarette lighter.
• Observe your vehicle manufacturer’s instructions for the use of the cigarette lighter.
• Do not dismantle or modify the portable jump starter with power bank. This device must only be repaired by a maintenance technician.
• Do not use the device in areas with a risk of explosion, e.g. near flammable liquids, gases or powders.
• Do not expose the device to any source of heat.
• Do not store in places where the temperature can exceed 40 °C.
• Only charge in an ambient temperature between 20 °C – 40 °C.
• Only use with the USB C cable delivered with the device.
• Do not insert any objects (e.g. screwdriver, etc.) into the charging socked of the device.

CAUTION! How to avoid accidents and injuries from electric shock:
Electrical safety:

• Do not use the device if the switch cannot be switched on and off. Have damaged switches replaced.
• Only connect the device to a 12 V on-board voltage. Connecting to a 24 V voltage can damage the device.
• When connecting the device make sure that the polarity of the motor vehicle cigarette lighter matches. The socket of the electrical system must have internal positive polarity, i.e. the positive terminal of a vehicle battery must not be connected to the chassis of the vehicle.
• Before connecting the device, check that the socket for the electrical system is sufficiently fused. This fuse protection must not be bypassed or altered, under any circumstances.
• You must not open or repair the device housing. In this case safety is no longer assured and the warranty is no longer valid.

Rechargeable battery packs:
CAUTION! EXPLOSION HAZARD!
Do not short-circuit the rechargeable battery pack and/or open it.
This could cause the device to overheat, ignite or explode.

• Do not expose the rechargeable battery pack to high temperatures.
  It could explode.
• Do not expose the device or the rechargeable battery pack to strong sunlight, fire or excessive temperatures.

Specific safety instructions

• We recommend charging the device once a month.
• A slightly increased temperature during charging is not a malfunction, but completely normal. However, we do recommend leaving the device to rest for 15 minutes before using.
• Due to the transfer resistances, using the cable with 12 V motor vehicle cigarette lighter plug can lead to the plug connection heating up.
• Protect the device from moisture and high temperatures, including fires.
• If you notice the device is leaking, producing an unusual odour or looking deformed in any way, stop using it immediately and contact the manufacturer.
• Do not drop the device while it is being used.
• There is a risk of injury. Avoid contact with the rotating scraper disc. Refit the protective cap when you are not using the device.
• Only operate or store the device and charger in accordance with the description and/or figures.
• Prevent the device from starting up unintentionally. Make sure that the switch is switched off before you pick up, carry or charge the device.
• Disconnect the plug of the 12 V cigarette lighter USB adapter from the power source before making adjustments, replacing accessories or storing the device.
• Do not use on paint or headlights.
• Be careful not to damage adjoining paint or seals.
• When using the 12 V cigarette lighter USB adapter, the front-end device should have a fuse or another protective device.
• You must not charge the rechargeable battery pack for more than 24 hours without interruption.
• Only use the USB-C cable for its intended purpose. Do not pull or carry the device by the USB-C cable, do not use the USB-C cable as a handle, do not close the door if the USB-C cable is in the doorway and do not pull the USB-C cable around sharp edges or corners. Do not guide the device using the USB-C cable. Keep the USB-C cable away from heat, heated surfaces, oil and moving parts. Damaged or tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
• Do not pull on the USB-C cable to unplug the plug. Hold the plug when unplugging it.
• Only charge with the accessories supplied by the manufacturer.
  A charger that is suitable for one type of battery may pose a fire hazard when used with another type of battery.
• Do not expose the device or the rechargeable battery pack to strong sunlight, fire or excessive temperatures. Strong sunlight, fire or temperatures over 130 °C (266 °F) can lead to destruction.
• Follow all charging instructions and do not charge the device outside the temperature range specified in the instructions. Incorrect charging or charging at temperatures outside the specified range can damage the rechargeable battery pack and increase the risk of fire.
• This device contains Li-Ion batteries, which cannot be replaced.

WARNING!

• Risk of injury, risk of damage!
  When transporting the device, take the weight of the device into account. Stow or secure the device in accordance with the applicable guidelines so that it does not slip or get tangled up during transport.

3. Stow or secure the device so that it does not slip or get tangled up in the vehicle when accelerating, braking, going round corners or in the event of an accident.

General safety instructions for power tools
WARNING! Read all safety information, instructions, illustrations and technical specifications which are provided with this power tool.
Failure to follow or comply with the following instructions could lead to an electric shock, fire and/or serious injuries. Please keep all safety instructions and other instructions for future use.
The term “power tool” used in the safety instructions refers to mains-powered power tools (with mains cable) or power tools with a rechargeable battery pack (without mains cable).

Workplace safety

• Ensure that your work area is clean and well illuminated. Untidiness or poorly lit work areas can cause accidents to happen.
• Do not work with the power tool in explosion hazard areas where combustible liquids, gases or dusts are present. Power tools generate sparks which could ignite dusts or fumes.
• Keep children and other individuals away while the power tool is being used. If you are distracted, you could lose control of the power tool.

• The plug of the power tool must fit into the socket.
  The plug must not be modified in any way. Do not use adapter plugs together with earthed power tools. Unmodified plugs and appropriate sockets reduce the risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, heaters, cookers and refrigerators. There is an  increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed.
• Keep power tools away from rain and moisture. The ingress of water into a power tool increases the risk of electric  shock.
• Do not use the connecting cable for any other purpose, to carry the power tool, hang it up or to pull  the plug from the socket. Keep the connecting cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts.
  Damaged or tangled connecting cables increase the risk of electric shock.
• If you are working outdoors with a power tool, only use extension cables which are also suitable for outdoor use. Using an extension cable which is suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
• If operating the power tool in a damp environment is unavoidable, use a circuit breaker. Using a circuit breaker reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

• Be alert, be aware of what you are doing and take the utmost care when working with a power tool.
  Do not use the power tool if you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medicines. A brief moment of carelessness when using the power tool can result in serious injuries.
• Wear personal protective equipment and safety goggles at all times. Depending on the type of power tool and how it is used, wearing personal protective equipment such as a dust mask, non-slip safety shoes, a hard hat and hearing protection can lessen the risk of injuries.
• Avoid starting it up unintentionally. Ensure that the power tool is switched off before you connect it to the power supply and/or rechargeable battery pack, pick it up or carry it. When carrying the power tool, if you have your finger on the switch or the power tool is switched on and connected to the power supply, this can lead to accidents.
• Remove the adjustment tools or spanners before switching the power tool on. A tool or spanner that is in a rotating part of the power tool can cause injury.
• Ensure good bodily posture during use. Ensure that you are not likely to overreach or lose your balance during use. This will make it easier for you to control the power tool in unexpected situations.
• Wear appropriate clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery.
  Keep hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long hair could become trapped inside moving parts.
• If dust extraction and collection devices can be fitted, these must be connected and used correctly. Using a dust extraction system can reduce dust hazards.
• Do not be lulled into a false sense of security and do not ignore the safety rules for power tools, even if you are familiar with the power tool after using it many times. Careless handling can lead to serious injuries in a split second.

Using and handling the power tool

• Do not overload the power tool. Use the appropriate power tool for your work. With the right power tool, you will work better and more safely in the specified performance range.
• Do not use any power tool if its switches are faulty.
  A power tool that can no longer be switched on or off is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Unplug the plug from the socket and/or remove a removable rechargeable battery pack before making  changes to the device settings, changing insert tool parts or putting the power tool down. These precautionary measures prevent the power tool from starting up unintentionally.
• When not in use, keep power tools out of the reach  of children. Do not let anyone use the power tool if  they are not familiar with it or have not read these instructions. Power tools are dangerous when they are used by inexperienced persons.
• Maintain power tools and insert tools with care. Check that moving parts are in perfect working  order and are not stuck or jammed. Check that parts are not broken or damaged in a way that stops the power tool from working properly. Ensure that damaged
  parts have been repaired before using the  power tool. Many accidents are caused by power tools that  have not been properly maintained.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges jam less and are easier to  guide.
• Use power tools, insert tool, insert tools, etc. in accordance with these instructions. When using them, take the working conditions and tasks to be carried out into account. The use of power tools for applications other than those for which they are intended can lead to dangerous situations.
• Keep handles and gripping surfaces dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles and gripping surfaces do not allow safe operation and control of the power tool in unforeseen situations.

Using and handling the cordless tool

• Only charge the rechargeable battery packs with chargers recommended by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for a certain type of rechargeable battery pack poses a risk of fire if it is used with other batteries.
• Only use the designated rechargeable battery packs in the power tools. The use of other rechargeable battery packs can lead to injuries and risk of fire.
• Keep the rechargeable battery pack which is not in use away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that could bridge the contacts. A short circuit between battery contacts can result in burns or fire.
• If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the rechargeable battery pack. Avoid contact with this liquid. In case of accidental contact, rinse with water.
  If the liquid gets into your eyes, seek medical attention as well. Leaking battery fluid can cause skin irritation or  burns.
• Do not use a rechargeable battery pack which has been damaged or modified. Damaged or modified  rechargeable battery packs may behave unpredictably and this can lead to fire, explosion or risk of injury.
• Do not expose a rechargeable battery pack to fire or high temperatures. Fire or temperatures over 130 °C can  cause an explosion.
• Follow all charging instructions and never charge  the rechargeable battery pack or cordless tool outside the temperature range specified in the operating instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside  the approved temperature range can destroy the rechargeable battery pack and increase the risk of fire.

Service

• Ensure that power tool repairs always use original replacement parts and are performed by a qualified technician. This ensures that the power tool is safe to operate at all times.
• Never service damaged rechargeable battery packs.
  Any servicing of rechargeable battery packs should only be carried out by the manufacturer or authorised service centres.

Further safety instructions for all work

Kickback and corresponding safety instructions
Kickback is the sudden reaction caused by a hooked or blocked rotating insert tool, such as a grinding disc, sanding disc, wire brush, etc. Hooked or blocking leads to an abrupt stop of the rotating insert bit. In this way an uncontrolled power tool accelerates against
the direction of rotation of the insert tool at the point where it is blocked. If, for example, a grinding disc hooks or jams in the workpiece, the edge of the grinding disc which is grinding into the workpiece can get caught and cause the grinding disc to break or cause  a kickback. The grinding disc then moves towards or away from the operator, depending on the direction of rotation of the disc at the point where it is blocked. Grinding discs can also break.
A kickback is the result of incorrect or faulty use of the power tool.
It can be prevented by taking appropriate precautionary measures as described below.
Kickback is the result of improper use of power tools and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking the precautionary measures listed below.

• Hold the power tool firmly and make sure your body and arms are in a position where you can absorb kickback forces. Always use the additional handle, if fitted, so that you have the greatest possible control over kickback forces or torque reaction during   tart-up. The operator can control the kickback and reaction forces by taking appropriate precautionary measures.
• Never place your hand near rotating insert tools.
  The insert tool can move over your hand on kickback.
• Keep your body away from the area into which the power tool will move in the event of a kickback.
  The kickback drives the power tool in the opposite direction to the movement of the grinding disc at the point where it is blocked.
• Be particularly careful when working where there  are corners, sharp edges, etc. Prevent insert tools  from bouncing back from the workpiece and jamming.
  The rotating insert tool is prone to jamming on corners,  sharp edges or when it bounces off. This causes a loss of control  or kickback.
• Do not use a chain or toothed saw blade. Such insert tools often cause kickback or loss of control of the power tool.

Before using the device

• Unpack the electric ice scraper 1 and remove all transport packaging. Check the device for completeness and damage. Do not use the device if it is defective.

• Connect the device to the cigarette lighter using the 12 V cigarette lighter USB adapter 10 delivered with the product.
• The charge status indicator flashes during the charging process. When the rechargeable battery  pack is fully charged, it lights up continuously.

Meaning of the lights

Using the device

• Remove the protective cap 6 (Fig. C).
• Switch the O/I switch 4 to “I”. The device is now in standby mode.
• Place the device on the windscreen and activate the trigger switch 2 by pushing on the device (Fig. D). The scraper disc 8 will start to rotate.
• Guide the appliance slowly over the windscreen using light pressure.
• In areas where the ice is thicker leave the device in the same place until the ice cracks.
• To switch the device back off, switch the O/I switch 4 to “O”.

PLEASE NOTE:
Make sure you keep away from the vehicle paintwork and the windscreen sealing area. Make sure you clean the car windows regularly to remove dirt particles which could cause scratches when using the scraper. Please note that the largest area of contamination is outside the wiper area of the windscreen wiper. It is therefore not enough to clean the car windscreens with the windscreen wiper unit.

PLEASE NOTE: Clean the device before and after every use.

Replacing the scraper disc
PLEASE NOTE: When using the device regularly, the scraper disc 8 must be replaced after every winter season, even if you cannot see any visible signs of wear.

• Hold one finger on the mount for the scraper disc 9 and use the grip groove 7 to lift the scraper disc 8 off (Fig. E).
• Place a new scraper disc 8 on the mount 9 and press it until the scraper disc 8 clicks into the mount (Fig. F).

PLEASE NOTE: Disconnect the plug of the device from the power source before making adjustments, replacing accessories or storing the device. Make sure that the device is switched off.

Cleaning

The device must not come into contact with water or be placed in water. There is a risk of injury due to electric shock if moisture enters the device.

• Switch the device off using the O/I switch 4.
• Clean the device before and after every use.
• Clean snow, ice and other contamination off the device.

PLEASE NOTE: When doing this take particular care when removing contamination from the scraper disc.

• Do not use cleaners or solvents. These could damage the device beyond repair.
• Use a damp cloth or a soft brush to clean the device and the accessories.

Storage

• Store the device in a dry place with an environmental temperature of -20 °C – 40 °C and out of the reach of children.
• Do not store the device in a car over a long period of time.

Troubleshooting

DANGER: CONTACT WITH LIVE PARTS. INJURY DUE TO ELECTRIC SHOCK! Switch the device off before carrying out any work on the device and disconnect it from the charger: Repair work and work on electrical components must only be carried out by  authorised customer service personnel.

The charge status indicator flashes rapidly

• The charging/ambient temperature is too low or too high.
• Observe the approved temperature ranges (see the Technical Specifications chapter).
• Switch the mains switch back on.

The scraper disc is blocked

• The charge status indicator lights up green and flashes red after a short time as long as the trigger switch is pressed and then lights up green again.
• Check the device for blockages and remove them if necessary.

1. Make sure that the device is switched off.
2. Remove the scraper disc as described in the chapter Changing the scraper disc and then carefully remove the blockages.
3. Switch the mains switch back on.

The device does not de-ice properly

• The scraper disc is damaged. Replace the scraper disc (see chapter Replacing the sanding disc).

Information about recycling and disposal

DO NOT DISPOSE OF ELECTRICAL TOOLS IN HOUSEHOLD WASTE!
DON’T THROW AWAY – RECYCLE!

According to European Directive 2012/19/EU, used electrical devices must be collected separately for environmentally compatible recycling or recovery. The symbol of the crossed out dustbin means that this device must not be disposed of in household waste at the end of its service life. The device must be handed in at established collection points, recycling centres or waste management depots. The disposal of defective devices which you have sent in will be carried out free of charge. In addition, distributors of electrical and electronic equipment as well as food distributors are obliged to accept returned waste. Lidl provides you with return options directly in its branches and shops. Return and disposal is free of charge for you. When buying a new device you have the right to return an equivalent old device at no charge.
In addition you have the option, regardless of whether you are buying a new device, to hand in (up to three) old devices at no charge, as long as the device is no larger than 25 cm in any dimension. Before returning the device please delete all personal information. Before returning, please remove batteries or rechargeable battery packs which are not enclosed by the old device, as well as bulbs, which can be removed without destroying the product and take them to a separate collection point.

Instructions for safe removal of batteries or rechargeable battery packs:

The rechargeable battery pack may only be removed by qualified personnel! RISK OF PERSONAL INJURY THROUGH ELECTRIC SHOCK!

• Ensure that the battery is completely discharged.
• The battery can be removed, once the two halves of the device have been separated from one another. These are held together by commercial screws.
• Disconnect the battery cells from the board.
• Carefully remove the battery or the rechargeable battery pack.
• The battery or rechargeable battery pack and device can now be disposed of separately.

Batteries containing harmful substances are labelled with the adjacent symbol, which indicates the prohibition on disposal in household waste. The abbreviations for the essential heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead.

Take used batteries to a waste management company in your city or community or return them to your dealer. Dear Customer,
The warranty for this equipment is 3 years from the date of purchase. In the event of product defects, you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your statutory rights are not affected in any way by our warranty conditions, which are described below.

Warranty conditions
The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original sales receipt.
This document is required as your proof of purchase.
Should this product show any defect in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it – at our discretion – free of charge. This warranty service requires that you retain proof of purchase (sales receipt) for the  defective device for the three year period and that you briefly explain in writing what the fault entails and when it occurred.
If the defect is covered by our warranty, we will repair and return your product or send you a replacement. The original warranty period is not extended when a device is repair or replaced.

Warranty period and statutory claims for defects
The warranty period is not extended by the guarantee. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts. Any damages or defects detected at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Any incidental repairs after the warranty period are subject to a fee.

Extent of warranty
This device has been manufactured according to strict quality guidelines and carefully inspected before delivery.
The warranty applies to material and manufacturing defects only. This warranty does not extend to product parts, which are subject to normal wear and tear and can thus be regarded as consumable parts, or for damages to fragile parts, e.g. switches or parts made from glass.
This warranty is voided if the product becomes damaged or is improperly used or maintained. For proper use of the product, all of the instructions given in the operating instructions must be followed precisely. If the operating instructions advise you or warn you against certain uses or actions, these must be avoided in all circumstances.
The product is for consumer use only and is not intended for commercial or trade use. The warranty becomes void in the event of misuse and improper use, use of force, and any work on the device that has not been carried out by our authorised service branch.
