• The SNZB-02D is a smart indoor temperature and humidity sensor that uses Zigbee 3.0 wireless communication. Setup / Pairing

1. Insert the battery (remove insulation) to power on the device.
2. Enter pairing mode: press & hold the pairing button for ~5 seconds (device will flash signal icon).
3. Use a Zigbee 3.0 gateway/bridge (for example, a SONOFF Zigbee Bridge, NSPanel Pro, ZBDongle, or other Zigbee hub) to discover and add the device.
4. Once paired, the sensor will begin sending temperature & humidity data to the gateway and the associated app (e.g. eWeLink or a third-party / home automation controller).
5. The LCD will display current values locally, along with icons (Hot / Cold / Dry / Wet).

• Use the desktop stand if placing on a flat surface (table, shelf).
• Use magnetic back to attach to metal surfaces.
• Use the 3M adhesive mount to fix it to walls or flat surfaces.

When positioning:

• Avoid direct sunlight or heat sources (radiators, heaters) which may skew readings.
• Avoid placing it very close to humidifiers or dehumidifiers (unless that’s what you’re measuring) because of local fluctuations.
• Ensure it’s within effective Zigbee range of the gateway (ideally with minimal signal obstruction).
• For larger homes, you may need Zigbee routers (powered devices) or signal repeaters to maintain connectivity.

Monitoring & Automation

• In the companion app or via a home automation controller, you can monitor current & historical readings (daily, monthly, etc.).
• Create automation triggers such as:
  • If humidity drops below a threshold → turn on the humidifier
  • If humidity exceeds a threshold → turn on the dehumidifier or ventilation
  • If temperature goes above or below a limit → adjust HVAC, send alerts
• Some apps allow exporting data (e.g. CSV) to analyze trends.
• You can observe icon feedback (Hot / Cold / Dry / Wet) on the display, which gives a quick indication of comfort or environmental state.

Q1: Can I use this sensor outdoors or in very cold weather?

A: The SNZB-02D is primarily designed for indoor use. Its rated operating temperature is from –9.9 °C to 60 °C. While –9.9 °C is moderately low, harsh outdoor conditions (freezing rain, snow, direct exposure) may exceed its tolerance or cause damage (especially to the battery and electronics). Also, it is intended for non-condensing humidity environments (5–95%), so outdoor humidity or dew could cause problems.

Q2: Why does the reading in the app sometimes differ from what is displayed on the sensor?

A: Differences may occur due to network latency (i.e. delay in updating data over Zigbee) or because the sensor may buffer changes until the reading threshold is exceeded before sending an update. Also, the display is immediate, but the app may refresh slightly later.
