Installation Instructions
Overvoltage Protection: The luminaire's electronic components are protected against overvoltage per DIN EN 61547. For additional protection against transients, separate overvoltage protection components are recommended and available on the BEGA website.
Safety Precautions: Installation and operation must comply with national safety regulations. Installation and commissioning should only be performed by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer is not liable for damage resulting from improper use or installation. Any subsequent modifications to the luminaire make the modifier responsible as the manufacturer.
Mounting:
- Securely screw the floodlight's G1/2 threaded connection into the on-site G1/2 female thread or a BEGA accessory. The torque for the G1/2 threaded connection is 40 Nm.
- Ensure the screw connection is secured against loosening (use locking screw S if provided, see Figure A).
- Check the earth conductor connection between the G1/2 threaded connection and the on-site female thread.
Floodlight Adjustment:
- Loosen the hexagon socket screw (wrench size 5 mm) and the hexagon nut (wrench size 30 mm) to adjust the desired beam direction.
- Torque specifications: Hexagon socket screw = 7 Nm, Hexagon nut = 35 Nm.
- Secure the hexagon nut against loosening by tightening the hexagon socket screw (wrench size 2 mm) (see Figures B, C).
Electrical Connection:
- The electrical connection must be made with appropriate connection terminals (not included) to the luminaire's power supply cable, ensuring correct protection class, safety class, and strain relief.
- Connect the mains supply to the brown (L), blue (N), and green-yellow (earth) conductors.
- Connect the control cables using the two leads marked DALI. If DALI control is not used, the luminaire operates at full light output.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Clean the luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleaning agents to remove dirt and deposits. Do not use high-pressure cleaners.
LED Module Replacement
The designation of the LED module is found on a label within the luminaire or on the underside of the module itself.
- Disconnect the system from the power supply.
- Open the floodlight by loosening the rear locking pin (hexagon socket wrench size 2 mm) in the trim ring.
- Remove the trim ring, safety glass, and reflector by twisting counter-clockwise.
- Replace the LED module. Follow the specific installation instructions for the LED module.
- Inspect and replace luminaire gaskets if necessary. Defective glass must be replaced.
- Reattach the trim ring with glass and reflector to the floodlight housing, aligning the notches. Twist clockwise until snug. Screw in the locking pin.
