Flow Direction and Settings
The valve operates with a defined flow direction. Normal flow is from A to B, and reverse flow is from B to A.
Fixed Setting:
- Nominal flow A → B [kW/TR] = 100%
- Nominal flow B → A [kW/TR] = 80%
Adjustable Setting: Allows for adjustment of the valve's performance.
Temperature Specifications
Maximum operating temperatures vary based on refrigerant type:
- Max. 100 °C / 212 °F
- Max. 130 °C / 265 °F
- Short-lived peak 150 °C / 300 °F
Specific maximum temperatures for different refrigerant types (R22/R407C MAH, R410A MAH, R410A LAH, R32 LAH, R454B LAH) are provided, ranging from 75 °C / 167 °F to 120 °C / 248 °F.
Installation and Connections
The valve features connections with specific OD (Outer Diameter) sizes for different tube dimensions:
- OD 10-16mm [3/8-5/8in.]
- OD 18-32mm [3/4-11/4in.]
For brazing, a minimum of 5% silver content is recommended.
Torque Specification: 10 Nm / 7 ft-lb for a 19 mm / 3/4 in. connection.
Superheat Adjustment
Superheat (SH) is defined as the difference between the suction gas temperature (t2) and the evaporation temperature (ts) at the valve outlet (SH = t2 - ts).
The factory settings for Superheat (SS) are typically 4 K or 3 K, depending on the refrigerant and model specification (e.g., R22/R407C MAH, R410A MAH & LAH, R32 LAH, R454B LAH).
The table below indicates the number of turns required to adjust the superheat:

Each turn of the adjustment screw corresponds to a specific temperature change in superheat:
- Δ SH / 1 turn / 360° ≈ 1.0 °C / 1.8 °F for R22/R407C MAH
- Δ SH / 1 turn / 360° ≈ 0.8 °C / 1.1 °F for R410A MAH
- Δ SH / 1 turn / 360° ≈ 1.4 °C / 2.5 °F for R410A LAH
- Δ SH / 1 turn / 360° ≈ 1.4 °C / 2.5 °F for R32 LAH
- Δ SH / 1 turn / 360° ≈ 1.3 °C / 2.3 °F for R454B LAH
